This video makes me appreciate the mcu’s lack of characters so much more. Nothing against the story by this guy, I actually believe he’s 100% right, stories would’ve been rushed, character development would’ve been strange, arbitrary deaths, a misuse of character, it all sounds exactly like what marvel would’ve done with Spider-Man, Avengers X-Men and Fantastic Four if they had them all, great work 100% accurate

It doesnt seem to have any of the humor the MCU is known for tho. Thats not something one should expect to remove, when the only difference is supposed to be the ips Marvel Studios had available from the get go, not a change of directors... In which case this seems more Snyder than somethinh from Whedon or Favreau.
If the MCU did have all of the characters form the beginning, marvel would be oversaturated with Spider-Man, wolverine, X-men, fantastic four and Deadpool. James Gunn would’ve never get his chance of doing his guardians of the Galaxy movies because it would be to risking.
He would do it eventually .
That’s scary because if he didn’t get Guardians of the Galaxy when he did, he might not have gotten to do The Suicide Squad, and he may not get to be the head of DC now.

But The Suicide Squad (The one James Gunn made) was almost unanimously loved by those who have watched it. And he made Starro the Conqueror the villain of the movie which you gotta love when underutilized villains get their due! Also it introduced John Cena’s take on Peacemaker which is loved so much they changed the comics to fit that personality.
Ironically, from the looks of things, it seems like we're slowly inching into this scenario. Disney owns the X-Men and Fantastic Four, they just need to get along with Sony to use Spider-Man. By phase 7, the MCU will look like Earth's Mightiest Heroes, which is the best Marvel media to this day, imo.

Honestly feels like this version of the MCU is too dark. Too much emphasis on breaking down popular heroes from the get go, rather than building up any of the marvelous wonder they mostly are known for on tv.
Almost feels like this is what the MCU would have been like if made by Snyder, rather than what if Marvel Studios had their flagship titles from the beginning.
If they had all their characters from the beginning, they would have blown their wad right away, like how the DCEU had Batman fighting Superman in their second movie. The first movie would have been Spider-Man, the second Wolverine and the X-Men, the third Secret Wars.
So glad you're back. I'm into this what if the MCU had all it's characters in the beginning stuff. I couldn't really imagine a Marvel universe without Spider-Man, Fantastic 4, and the X-Men.

I felt like there was something wrong with this pitch, but I didn't know what it was until I figured out that it was too much of a downer. There are a lot of deaths of beloved characters, having two movies about a civil war, and overall leaving characters in a depressed state.

To be fair, I think marvel killing off characters would be pretty accurate. The reason we didn’t get any major deaths in the mcu is because of the limited characters they had access to. They couldn’t risk killing off anyone besides quicksilver (who died in the same film he was introduced). If mcu had access to all marvel hero’s they wouldn’t be as fearful to take a risk and kill off a big character because they have multiple others to replace the slot

I tried to stick to people who actually got movies (MCU or otherwise) which is why I used Charaters like blade DareDevil and Ghost rider as other big characters are either mutants in which this would mainly be a xmen universe, or weren't used until phase 4 or beyond dispite owning the rights. And xemn are the avengers counter part is the Xemn and not still the avengers because I fell the xmen could still be a big event without much setup unlike the avengers which is why they take the place of the gardians, and hulk wouldn't be apart of the gardians because the gardians don't interact with the rest of the mcu so that will staystay just all on earth.

Spider-Man, the X-men & the fantastic four from the beginning of the MCU I’m glad marvel took creative liberties and brought C and D list characters like iron man, guardians, doctor strange and ant-man into mainstream. and now that we’ve had a whole saga growing to love the avengers its hard to imagine a world where they wouldn’t have their own solo stories and pushed into the background. I’ve seen a lot of these what if marvel never sold their rights videos but this one is probably the most realistic version of what this could have looked like great video.
As soon as you said that Tobey Maguire Spiderman would have never existed, that's when I decided that the timeline we're in is definitely the better timeline

My only objection would be introducing major Avengers members in other people's films during Phase 1, the reason the MCU Phase 1 worked so well was that it was so focused on setting up the Avengers, giving the four core members their own films with very little detours in each (minor characters like War Machine and Bucky being introduced but always being relevant to the story, not necessarily sign posting what was to come). Yes the MCU was later able to bring major characters in during other people's films (Black Widow and Spidey) but only after it had earned our trust.
With that in mind, my pitch for Phase 1 would be;
1) Spidey
2) Hulk (Small Tony Stark cameo similar to Hawkeye in Thor)
3) Spidey 2 (Introduces Ant-Man and Wasp as supporting players)
4) Captain America
5) The Avengers (Spidey, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, Cap and Iron-Man
6) Fantastic Four
Then Phase 2 would focus on introducing the X-Men, giving a few sequels, and bringing it all together for Civil War (really like Civil War as a 2 part film by the way).
Like you said, I'm glad circumstances forced the MCU to work out like it did, in hindsight there's really nothing I'd change about Phases 1 - 3 (except for maybe Black Widow and Hawkeye films), but it doesn't hurt to fantasise :D

See for me I think if spiderman had a live action tv series for the street level stuff and for the major events turn them into movies like kinds hit it show certain villains like green goblin as Norman and show how he turns so when the movie comes he's already goblined out and ready to reek havoc but idk if I'm the only one that might things that's a good idea

Interesting which some of these feel like remake the original movies but I wish they could have build up the masters of evil
I was thinking about this these days remembering the early MCU days and actually... this could've happened, albeit not how we imagine.
In 2007, Sony (Spider-Man), Fox (X-Men), Universal (Hulk) and New Line (Blade) had finished all their plans for their current Marvel movies, where Universal ended up accepting to include MCU elements in 'Incredible Hulk', even if they weren't really gonna do another movie. What if the other studios thought "wow, 'Iron Man' made a LOT of money, maybe we could also get in on this" and all of them worked together?
In 2009, there could've been a Wolverine AND a Captain America movies, tying Magneto as Red Skull's secret weapon instead of the Tesseract. In 2012, there were the first new Spider-Man movie and the Avengers, so they could've linked both without crossing over. In 2015, there were the first new Fantastic Four and the Avengers sequel, so they could've drawn a connection between the teams with a shared villain like Molecular Man.
I think it would've been crazy because it's the ultimate fan's dream to see the entire Marvel universe together on screen. Yeah, we would have problems along the way like we already do and we wouldn't get movies on less known characters like Guardians of the Galaxy or even Ant-Man until maybe Phase 3 or 4, but it is what it is. The real loss would be movies like 'Logan' because that would be way too much of a "what if..." story in a big shared universe.
Of course, this is all considering Marvel would be producing so they would have to change the movies if they ended up like 'Fant4stic' or 'TASM2'.

I like this! It’s more grounded and simple. Focuses on the classic characters that provide more of a foundation of the Marvel Universe.
The only thing I will say is what we have learned from Fox is Dark Phoenix shouldn’t be 1 movie. I think instead of a Dark Phoenix movie bringing everyone back together, do something different with the X-Men. We have 4 movies back to back of the heroes losing, so instead of doing that with the X-Men, end X-Men 2 with the X-Men all being captured by someone like Sinister or Stryker. Then instead of Dark Phoenix have the third X-Men be The Uncanny X-Men with Logan in that lineup. We can get an adaptation Of Second Genesis/Giant Size X-Men #1!

I really think civil war should be an entire phase. I’ve always thought that would be better. Instead of trying to push it into two films. You could show the effects of the accords in the individual films. And both avengers films could be the beginning and end. And just like event comics you don’t have to watch the individual films in this phase. You will get the primary story in those two films. But will also get more context if you watch everything.
It could very much be like how they explain stuff in infinty war for viewers that didn’t watch everything. Just quick one to two sentences that catches viewers up without haunting everything.
The only thing I disagree with is the lack of Doctor Strange.

Your take on the MCU was really interesting! Something I didn't like though was killing off some of the characters that you killed off. It was really unnecessary. I hate it when characters die in superhero movies. That's the biggest mistake the MCU made. Killing off a character every time there's a new movie or show.

@@LewisFanFiction first I wanna say I do love you’re work I just don’t think this was the best of what you could do. 2nd Ik ppl think the mcu would’ve been x-men focused but I highly believe no matter what Kevin would’ve stuck to his merits and done the avengers saga the same. Tbh I could easily see him telling 2 stories: past with the x-men and fantastic four in the 60s-70s or just the x-men and then avengers modern day maybe an animated series to explain the gap. I could also have seen x-men first class have remained the same with one of the differences being fury being apart of the film and it taking place maybe early 2000s or late 90s. I do think with iron man there would be more references but I also believe that stays the same l: thanos imo would’ve stayed the villain the avengers would’ve stayed the primary hero’s as well. I don’t see Kevin adapting comic civil war and killing Steve off and I also think the whole pushing the winter soldier movie which is basically marvels dark knight to Sam would be one of the biggest Ls ever. I don’t think ant-man would have any part I think the fantastic four would’ve taken that part and been the ones to discover the quantum realm and all of that.
@@jonathanhill3668 tbh I think ur adaptation is shit and would fail on epic proportions, first, realistically nobody is gonna need to use C and D listers like The guardians, antman etc. It would largely be Spider-Man focused and sadly he’d probably end up leading the avengers somehow because Disney doesn’t understand the characters. Then Wolverine, Xmen, Fantastic four and hulk will have their fair share of films. With the avengers coming as second priority. It’s simply just a matter of who makes money, it wouldn’t be an Avengers saga, and most characters like iron man wouldn’t have the depth they do now
