    And of course, the day after I upload the video, I manage to beat 3BCs... the irony 😂.
    This one took me 133 hours and 288 deaths, in case you're curious.
    Persevere and you shall triumph! 💪‍

    For the hard-hitting weapons, ice is your friend. Abuse it and the freeze will give you more than enough time to kill them. Also, quick weapons are often hard to control, which give your opponents opportunities to hit you back (especially when dealing with crowds). Just a tip!

  • @justaguywithagoodphoto4801

    On tip four if you ever find yourself struggling to fight cocoon is always a valuable option, i managed to jump through BC 2 and i’m brute forcing my way through BC 3 with it, especially against bosses like the giant

    • @ThatOneArgentinianGamer
      @ThatOneArgentinianGamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! It might be a troublesome to get the Cocoon in the first place, but I can see it matching well with heavy weapons that take both weapon slots.

    Fun fact: Survival is the easiest color for me to beat 5BC
    At least for me

    • @ThatOneArgentinianGamer
      @ThatOneArgentinianGamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had to resort to that tactic as well! Which is ironic, since I suggested against green-colored weapons, given the majority are slow.

    • @RandomTomatoMusic
      @RandomTomatoMusic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Parrying is your best friend in any Survival build. Don't have an open weapon slot for a shield? Armadillopack mutation or the Cocoon skill. Though I will say, if you don't have a shield (in which case, what is wrong with you? /j), crowd-control effects definitely go a long way with slower weapons*.
      _*This obviously excludes bosses like Giant or HotK who can't easily be CCd._

    5BC (hell mode) player of 1.3k hours here. This was shaping up to be a very solid beginner guide to the game... until your 4th point. I won't deny that heavy weapons can be difficult to use, but that does not mean that you should avoid them. With the right knowledge of timing and spacing, they're all very effective and survival has the highest hp and some of the best mutations available to use in conjunction with them.
    I'd also like to point out that you shouldn't ever be considering changing your build color mid-run, as that ends up wasting scrolls which is something you should never do because of how valuable a single one can be with the scaling system later in a run.
    Also don't always take a shield. They're great, but secondary weapons can create some very fun and effective builds.
    Overall, a very nice guide. You just fell into the most common pitfall of new players in the game of avoiding heavy weapons.

    • @ThatOneArgentinianGamer
      @ThatOneArgentinianGamer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can totally see your point with heavy-weapons. I've seen players practically breaking the game in half using them. It takes a lot of time to get used to those and, more often than not, they become quite frustrating to use. I'm the finest example there, it's part of the reason I used it as a tip. Looking back though, I should have said something like "take your time to get used to them", an oversight of my part.
      That's also true! Something I should have said in the video as well.
      True, shields aren't mandatory. It often depends on your play-style and I definitely didn't bring one on my secondary slot when I beat the game for good. It comes without saying that parrying can be hugely beneficial as well, but in the grand scheme of things, two weapons offer better results.
      Thank you kindly for the comment! If anyone else is reading this, @sharkastic2633 brings up a good point. Heavy weapons aren't bad at all. They just take longer to get used to and can still be as, if not way stronger than the other color weapons. Hell, I managed to beat 5BC with one, mostly for the huge health-pool, but still!

    • @treymtz
      @treymtz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Idk... Like I agree with what your saying and I'm only 2 boss cells deep, but they often aren't optimal in more scenarios than the ideal. I feel like there needs to be an overhaul for the entirety of the class of weapons. Possibly some damage mitigation while winding up or something? idk they just never feel good to even use. And I love large fuck all weapons, especially in Souls games. Dead Cells kinda doesn't make them feel as natural as every other class of weaponry for me.

    • @sharkastic2633
      @sharkastic2633 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@treymtz It's just you. They certainly take a bit of getting used to, but they can feel more fluid and natural than faster weapons when you get to the point of being able to use them well.
      Make sure to manage distance as well as enemy timing many survival weapons also come with extraordinary range that can keep you very safe during the windup. Timings are also very important not just to attacks but in tandem with distance as well. You can queue an attack when an enemy is approaching you in order to strike before the enemy can even start their attack.

    Survival need the most knowledge of the game to use effectively, it's the build with most cc in game, if you know the crit condition and used it at it full potential you technically have a build which have more ways to down enemy more way to avoid damage, some build are just down right make you cheese the boss (root grenade + wolf trap, cannon + crushers and so on) I think you just need to spend a lot more time (considering how you went to cavern with the main stat at 13)

    Yo dude. My damage is never enough. To beat the Hand of the King, it requires you to have at least 7k-10k of damage. Mine is only around 2k-4k even with the scrolls used for 1 stat only. I'm still stuck at 2BC btw.
    Does it mean it is almost mandatory to have to pick up or buy new weapons as I progress? Since the The Blacksmith's Apprentice only allow you to upgrade the gear's quality once, not even gear's level. If that is true, does it also mean that I have to constantly change my play style during 1 run because I cannot stick to something that I am familiar with at a particular time?
    Please help, I've been stuck at 2BC and I can no longer keep my sanity.

    • @ThatOneArgentinianGamer
      @ThatOneArgentinianGamer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Trust me, I know a thing or two about losing sanity, especially at 5BC. What I'll tell you might not be new to you, but I'll try regardless:
      Have you try practicing against the Hand of the King at the Training Room? You're not guaranteed to beat it, given you're thrown to it with level 1-1-1 and starting-level equipment, but it has helped me with a handful of bosses when I was stuck. Have at it multiple times and build confidence.
      You can also start custom runs and remove certain weapons you don't want to find, but leaving enough of them to be allowed to get a new Boss Cell. It might hurt your ego, but your sanity will thank you.
      Let me know how that goes for you. You got this!!

    • @khaiphamba5991
      @khaiphamba5991 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThatOneArgentinianGamer I see. So basically I need to practice more and try the custom mode. Yeah I get you, man. It's just that, for practicing, it helps me to know the pattern of the bosses, but my damage is not enough to take advantage of that. Can't finish them off quickly means there's more room for error. Eventually I will screw up, and at 2BC, it is already unforgiving. Them bosses hit like a freaking TRUCK! Takes 3 hits and I'm done. Even the elites kill me in 3 hits. You know the Slasher? I was stun-locked by this mofo till dead.
      Custom mode is interesting indeed, but I haven't touched it. It allows some cool mechanisms to be activated, and some limitations as well.
      Thank you so much. I will try out your advices and see how they go.

    • @ThatOneArgentinianGamer
      @ThatOneArgentinianGamer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@khaiphamba5991 Absolutely! I know the "practice makes perfect" answer is not one anyone wants to hear, I bit my tongue when that thought came across, but Dead Cells is a game that relies on reflexes built on pattern recognition. You're one step closer to victory once you're able to face him off with more confidence.
      That being said, a good build is the other half of the game, so as for not being able to deal that much damage... any and all weapon that takes advantage of affixes other than stun or freeze (since those don't last nearly long enough to take advantage from) will be of great help. The Wolf Trap will be your best friend here if you use it strategically, couple that with the Cleaver or anything you can use to summon Biters (the purple little worms) to nibble on his ankles.
      That's about what I can come up with at the moment. Don't let the game discourage you, keep pressing on and onward to victory!
