Real proffesional, mechanic, one of the hardest tasks for a bike, cause needs knowledge of what you are doing, plus doing it correctly. Precise and easy touch for this kind of task, cause if you miss the allignement or the order of the disks, then goodbye them and go for a new pack...
Helpful video thanks . Trouble shooting my same clutch , with cover off if you pull the clutch the outer basket slightly moves before the clutch engages , should there be play ?
We recommend looking up part numbers on one of the parts fiche sites on the web - I use shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/PartsFiche.aspx a lot - because p/ns can vary depending on model & trim level.

A small bit, but not much. Refer to a technical manual to be 100% sure.

Did you replace the outer basket? And why?

16:50 - the recesses of all the friction plates must be are in line. See in repairs manual.
That's true.
Before you take it apart do you need to line anything up like put it in neutral, gearing , etc ?
no, but everything has to be lined up and locked (as needed) before reassembly
nice

where can you buy the holding tool from?
Check with your BMW dealer; if they don't have it, Wunderlich might.
What torc setting are the spring bolts at the end set at?

Do i need to drain the oil? B4
NEED to? No. Draining the oil will make the job less messy, though!
how many ODO km for clutch replacement ??
my XR has 40k km on still running the stock plates...
aong kittisu I am going to change my s1000rr 2017 and have 22k miles on mjne
Lots of wheelies
Depends on the rider and conditions. Somebody who races will need to replace the clutch sooner than somebody who doesn't, for example.
