This happend to me Yesterday I just finished my first playthrough with 60 hours of Playtime Since early access release I can confirm this is most Definitely from Main Story Defeating Ranrogk idk i spelled that right but yeah
The room didn't expand for me until I defeated Ragrock Essentially at the most useless point since I've basically completed everything It should expand after you either rescue a unicorn or rescue the phoenix
Pretty much the same for the killing curse. You only get it when you barely need it anymore. And when you do. the two remaining story bosses will only lose a "bar" of their health-bar instead of instantly dying, along with still having the regular cut-scene death. And the Final Boss is terrible due to being completely anti-progress. Does not matter what plants, potions or spells you have learned and used, they are all pointless. Its just a color code "simple puzzle" that you could beat even if you just did nothing but the main story-line and never upgraded your gear.
My exact thoughts. What’s the point of expanding the room once for us once we have completed the game. It should come earlier somewhere along the story
This should be connected to the number of items found or bought. Logically the more you have the more space you need. I guess it is connected to final boss as I was there before Ranrok and it was tiny as usual…
Hey DPJ, literally just finished the San Bakars trial and stumbled on your video. I can confirm even with both graphorns and offspring and phoenix the room does not get bigger.
I was thinking the same when i saw the video in my feed. Make it bigger? For what? The only purpose for the RoR aside from the vivariums, loom, and the identify desk is making potions and items. And with an item cap of 12, it's not like you need multiple plants growing to mass produce mandrakes or whatever. The moonstone refinery i suppose for those that really want to go all out decorating. But aside from that, the room doesn't need to be any bigger unless they plan to add more with a DLC
@@jamesjenkins7085 I already decorared it, made myself a small plant area and a little study room for my character. Then it expanded and I don't really know what to do with the space. But as soon as I unlocked all objects, I'm gonna sit down for a few hours and decorate it xD I just wish we had some nice working room dividers or something :/

My room expanded after I saved the unicorn, before I defeated Ranrock. I already had the Phoenix and the Graphorn, and neither caused it to expand. I have all my plants and potions down there, so I am there a lot, and it was immediately after I came back with a unicorn in my bag that it expanded.
@@baksungen5951 We just tested this on my husband’s character, and he only got the room to expand after he completed The Final Repository. And after doing some Google searches, that seems to be the consensus on how you get it to expand. Although I was sure I had not gotten that far before I did that quest.
It actually takes Moonstone to build things in the RoR. Build Refiner to get 10 per a refiner per a cycle. It helps to read descriptions of what something does first :). Or if you need money. Go breed your tame beasts and sell their offspring...
Could you tell me a mission name (NO SPOILERS PLZ) where I know I need to stop playing the main story. And start focusing on side content before completing the story. Like after I got all the spells but preferebaly a couple missions before the ending of the story
@@Da-Butchar if you stop after you do main quest 'In the Shadow of the Mountain' or 'The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and The Loom' I think that'll be a good place to leave it, I think you'll have all spells by then, then you can level up more and explore and do the remaining side and main quests! I wish I explored loads more before finishing.
It opens over time as you play through the main quests. If you notice, it tracks these main quests in several sets, every time you see that count reset and go up you'll see the room grow.
@@NekoSuave00 sorry I believe you have to finish the main story line. when I typed this I only got the second upgrade. you get the third from finishing the main story line besides the level 34 quest. (I am 95% sure)

Don’t think it is finishing the main story quest. I went in there after I finished main story and it did not open. I went in after completing the Weasley quest and 100% on challenges but also after I completed a bunch of other stuff like all 3 battle arenas. I have yet to go do the cup quest. Also did not breed the Graphahorn yet. So I am not sure what opened it but it definitely was not finishing main quest or all side quests. Also level 40 so that may be it but not sure.
If they update it, i hope they let us sell our potions and herbs and plants. Let us keep our saved progress and port over to online and have friends come to our rooms and we can venture out on quests, gather and what not. The expanding of the rooms gives us ways of making more and more stuff and adding pots and stuff from tolms and scrolls.
I'm hoping there's going to be plenty of future DLC bc you get so much at the very end of the game. I mean what's the point of an expanding room if you have no more main quests. Fingers crossed for DLC.
Sooo I have a question, I'm messing around in the R.O.R. and that death statue that leads up to the 2nd floor, does anybody know why if you use an attack of any kind on that statue, why does it move? Like rock back and forth?
I have completed the story, I have the Graphorn and the Phoenix and the room does not expand for me. Could it be that you need to have 100% on Room of Requirements challenge? EDIT: It literally expanded just now... all I had to do was ..look up..
fascinating maybe i'll go back into my 100% completed first play through and see if it expands for me on my PS4 but i doubt it will because i dont have anything else to do in that save file everything has been collected for the true 100% playthrough
That's not true I had a saver I didn't complete the game I got halfway through and my room of requirement expanded like that I don't know what causes it to expand but I know that the main mission completing that has nothing to do with it
I know this is a bit late, but I think I just understood what expands the room! I had completed the game at 100% (all collectibles) and still hadn't expanded completely (though I don't recall when was the last time I had been in here (beat the game 2 months ago), but I have just beat all broom trials and got first place (hadn't got one yet before) and when I came in the room, it expanded (as I was looking down, since some people said they had just looked up). So yeah, broom trials 1st place?? It's a possibility!
I love the game but it feels like there are so many half baked ideas laced into it. Animals, the room expanding at the end of the game, the whole "dark wizard" path amounting to nothing tbh you just get three new spells, only ride a graphorn and highwing despite getting a unicorn, thestral, and other hippogriffs, also shiny beasts are just albino with no higher cost for selling or more materials from harvesting or different materials they just look white with a little shiny symbol. All and all not that special compared to shiny Pokemon which you actively use and interact with.

The Graphorn does not matter to the rooms size. However something you might not know is that you can get a second graphorn after defeating the Lord of the Shore which is the FOURTH trial and make graphorn babies!
My room just expanded and I been beat the game. It was after I identified an item I had that mine expanded, but I can't confirm if that's the primary reason for the room expanding since I've been doing a ton of side missions and trying to find all of the merlin trials and whatnot.
Do you seriously need to basically beat the game to open up the room completely... What's the point by then, it's made for grinding potions and plants what are you grinding them for after beating ranrohk?

My husband hasn't beaten the Rockwood or Ranrock and has this room. That can't be it either. But I'm higher level than he is and still don't have this room.
So if i understand correctly, if we refuse one quest from Cheek (example, the 1st one with the spiders cave) we will never have the other vivariums for creatures?? Because im an arachnophobia person, and i want to refuse his mission because of that.. but i could never have more development on the room of requirement? That’s rough, a lot of the game has spiders in it haha maybe have someone kill all the spiders for you while you aren’t looking then you can continue forward?
@@macchacey9823 the « small ones » im fine with them now, and the big red ones too, it’s the absconded/acromantula that cause problem 😅🙈 the other ones looks a little bit like beetle insect / crab because of their shell look, but the acromantula looks much more like a real tarantula

Don't look through convenient holes in the rocks and fill up your ancient magic for the boss fight. also descendo when the spider is about to lunge at you buries its head in the ground dealing a lot of damage. you got this!
@@admiredgsu1217 because i level up on the game since he ask that quest (i didn’t go directly on the quest i did other things for hours) and finally find the courage to go, the acromantula has a lower level than me, so with only 2 ancient magic and it was gone, i was so happy 😅
you do NOT have to beat the boss to get this room to expand... I had the room fully expanded long before I beat Ragrock. its the "Room of Requirement." and when you go in for the first time you don't "require" all that space. The room expands into the side room and larger room as well as the beast sanctuaries, all of those get bigger after you fill them up. you get more beast space once you fill up one of them. you get more space in the room after you use so much of the space in the room.
I absolutely hate that it expanded this big. I had everything all nice and neat and in order. I didn't need anymore space... Especially after beating the game and having little to nothing left to do.
I’ve heard of people who had this upgrade at very different points of the Maine story so it can be something else. Hope so cause it’s pointless to have it at the end :/
You have to look up, litterly just look straight up after doing "something" that's the best I can figure out, it's not killing the finally boss as mine opens way way way before that
In collection chests, it’s a random draw though. I got the pumpkins when I was already in winter. But I got the Christmas tree really early so I had that for winter time.
@felipeluca5219 what I did to fix it was I just beat ranrok again, luckily I had a save just before the last mission, did that again and then just cuz im paranoid I did the mission that gives you the actual credits in the great hall after ranrok and let the entire credits play, i didn't skip them, and that worked, idk if it mattered or not maybe just trying playing ranrok but yeah

I can't believe that they thought it was a smart idea not to allow us to get this huge extra space until we beat Ranrock. Like I still have some things to do, but I've put 80 hours in and most of the game is complete; it would have been much more useful had this been available earlier in the game. 10/10 game for me, I guess this is just a nitpick.
Space for what? Only reason for more space is decorating which wouldn't serve any purpose earlier. I have 1 of every plant growing, 1 t shaped potion maker, 1 loom, 1 identify desk and i haven't even touched the other half of the first expansion (which is plenty room for 3 refineries and 3 fertilzers as i mapped it out but decided i didn't need them) P.S. did i mention i have a giant griffon statue in the center of the main room 😁. It's already way more room than you need unless you are really into interior decorating
@@arorath9170 I didn't say the extra space was needed, I said it would be more useful to have the extra space earlier in the game instead of after you beat the main story line. Decorating is often simply that; decorating. It's aesthetic. If you conjure most of the potion and plant devices, dung compactor, pretty much everything, there is basically not enough room for all of that in the main initial room. I like to create and place things simply because I can; I want to see what it looks like. If you want to cram everything in the first room, that's on you, but makes it look like a cluttered sweatshop. If you don't like decorating the extra space and using it, that's fine, but the game provides it and I find the decorating fun. Plus it gives me the chance to actually use the tons of rewards I get for exploring.

Found this vid after getting 100% and desperately searching for more to do or find... nothing is missable and 100% needs only ca 75% of the collectibles everything after is for now only achievements. fyi you can breed Graphhorns, but females are a rare spawn, Also there is no second phoenix and the lvl 40 gear has a maximum stat of 114-116. Only thing I am still confused about; do bred offspring actually ever grow up? Not that it would make a difference or anything.
this game is fantastic, but the timing of the talent points, beasts and room of requirements is absolute dogshit. What's the point of the room expanding AFTER you've finished the main storyline? 50-70% of players do at least half of the side quests while finishing the main storyline. IMHO EVERYTHING in terms of the room of requirement should be available after niamh's trial. and the talent points should be given after the first trial. That way you're not handicapping the power leveling experience, an also not handing it to the player at the start

If you decorate it, you will find you need even more room than he shows here to get your materials and decorations all in there.

Can anyone confirm this? Every other post on the entire internet says that you have to defeat Ranrok first

Complete the interior decorating quest. that's what opened it for me.

Keep playing the game and eventually you will unlock this room, which is the room of requirement.
I defeated him and did all the other quest except the final battle and Nattys last quest but the room didn’t get bigger

@@macchacey9823 the « small ones » im fine with them now, and the big red ones too, it’s the absconded/acromantula that cause problem 😅🙈 the other ones looks a little bit like beetle insect / crab because of their shell look, but the acromantula looks much more like a real tarantula
@@sabyne5 if you want to try to get the fight over with quickly and dont want a scare. Don't look through convenient holes in the rocks and fill up your ancient magic for the boss fight. also descendo when the spider is about to lunge at you buries its head in the ground dealing a lot of damage. you got this!
@@admiredgsu1217 because i level up on the game since he ask that quest (i didn’t go directly on the quest i did other things for hours) and finally find the courage to go, the acromantula has a lower level than me, so with only 2 ancient magic and it was gone, i was so happy 😅

you do NOT have to beat the boss to get this room to expand... I had the room fully expanded long before I beat Ragrock. its the "Room of Requirement." and when you go in for the first time you don't "require" all that space. The room expands into the side room and larger room as well as the beast sanctuaries, all of those get bigger after you fill them up. you get more beast space once you fill up one of them. you get more space in the room after you use so much of the space in the room.
Its mainstory. Complete it and you have it as big as you can. ✌🏻

I absolutely hate that it expanded this big. I had everything all nice and neat and in order. I didn't need anymore space... Especially after beating the game and having little to nothing left to do.

You have to look up, litterly just look straight up after doing "something" that's the best I can figure out, it's not killing the finally boss as mine opens way way way before that

How do you get Halloween and Christmas decorations in the game?
In collection chests, it’s a random draw though. I got the pumpkins when I was already in winter. But I got the Christmas tree really early so I had that for winter time.

@felipeluca5219 what I did to fix it was I just beat ranrok again, luckily I had a save just before the last mission, did that again and then just cuz im paranoid I did the mission that gives you the actual credits in the great hall after ranrok and let the entire credits play, i didn't skip them, and that worked, idk if it mattered or not maybe just trying playing ranrok but yeah

I can't believe that they thought it was a smart idea not to allow us to get this huge extra space until we beat Ranrock. Like I still have some things to do, but I've put 80 hours in and most of the game is complete; it would have been much more useful had this been available earlier in the game. 10/10 game for me, I guess this is just a nitpick.
Space for what? Only reason for more space is decorating which wouldn't serve any purpose earlier.
I have 1 of every plant growing, 1 t shaped potion maker, 1 loom, 1 identify desk and i haven't even touched the other half of the first expansion (which is plenty room for 3 refineries and 3 fertilzers as i mapped it out but decided i didn't need them)
P.S. did i mention i have a giant griffon statue in the center of the main room 😁. It's already way more room than you need unless you are really into interior decorating
@@arorath9170 I didn't say the extra space was needed, I said it would be more useful to have the extra space earlier in the game instead of after you beat the main story line. Decorating is often simply that; decorating. It's aesthetic. If you conjure most of the potion and plant devices, dung compactor, pretty much everything, there is basically not enough room for all of that in the main initial room. I like to create and place things simply because I can; I want to see what it looks like. If you want to cram everything in the first room, that's on you, but makes it look like a cluttered sweatshop. If you don't like decorating the extra space and using it, that's fine, but the game provides it and I find the decorating fun. Plus it gives me the chance to actually use the tons of rewards I get for exploring.

Found this vid after getting 100% and desperately searching for more to do or find... nothing is missable and 100% needs only ca 75% of the collectibles everything after is for now only achievements.
fyi you can breed Graphhorns, but females are a rare spawn, Also there is no second phoenix and the lvl 40 gear has a maximum stat of 114-116.
Only thing I am still confused about; do bred offspring actually ever grow up? Not that it would make a difference or anything.

DId you know you can go back to where you got you're graphorn and get a female. I put my graphorn, hyppogriff and unicorns on the beach vivarium.
this game is fantastic, but the timing of the talent points, beasts and room of requirements is absolute dogshit. What's the point of the room expanding AFTER you've finished the main storyline? 50-70% of players do at least half of the side quests while finishing the main storyline. IMHO EVERYTHING in terms of the room of requirement should be available after niamh's trial. and the talent points should be given after the first trial. That way you're not handicapping the power leveling experience, an also not handing it to the player at the start

I thought the fact they even included this was so lame the opposite stair area on the right should've just opened up to another side room. This doesn't even give you much more wall space at all doesn't make enough room to add much more stuff which sucks cause have the items you pick up are for this room.
