several runs from 85 stand out to me, especially Nassau, Merriweather, Hershey, Richmond and The Greek - 20th anniversary, crafted some of the most creative setlists of their entire career
Yeah I don't know if there was "tripping" going on with the band or not at that time or cocaine etc.. Bringing drugs into it is not appropriate (I think)..... I saw Richmond shows. The first one was just so-so and the second one was great. But Bobby was (wild in this one) and his and his rhythms were pushing the boundaries. Bobby and Brett were the energy IMHO.

Usually it’s a toss up of 11/1 Richmond, 6/15 Greek, 7/1 Merriweather, and 4/8 Philly. There were so many great shows in 85 though that Hampton barely gets a nod. And that’s saying something. And 11/2 Richmond was a great show. Just goes to show one man’s gold is another man’s diamond.
Me, too, though somehow I didn't fully groove on it at the time, being more taken with the third show of that run at Nassau- but listening to it over the years, it's my favorite of those shows, especially for its incendiary second set- just smokin'!
