Fall 1985 I was a senior in college in Hartford CT and 4 of us had tickets for both shows. We left around noon with a bottle of Smirnoff, a 1/2 gallon of OJ, and a sheet of Gooney Birds. We put 1/2 the sheet of gooney birds in the bottle of Vodka and when we hit Albany the electric screwdrivers began flowing! By the time we arrived in Rochester we were plenty high. This show blew my doors off! The Touch-Samson-High Time-Let It Grow was so fucking hot. I remember crying tears of joy when High Time started, and the Let It Grow is absolutely smokin'. To this day the best two shows I ever saw back to back! Enjoy!
@@michaelhoffman5486 I guess you don't understand the vibe of the room too well. Not to mention, did I say the best shows ever, or just the best shows I ever attended? Lastly, why do you have to kill my buzz? What's wrong with you?
All I can say is thank you also Kevin. One of my favorite years 85 was, so many killer shows. Wish I went to more those early years. I went and taped as many as I could. Please more 84 and 85s!!!!!
Awsome man! Did the same the year before. By this time I'd talked all my friends into going. "So wait we can go get this dynamite lsd for pennies a hit?" Ha. Them they got there, got the L and the music took over and that was that
Lol! You picked a good one because when I want to listen to a full show that I attended, I ALWAYS go back to this one. I was high as everyone else. I think there was a lot of acid about and the crowd energy was so awesome! Plus Stella Blue is my all time favorite!
I was a young 18 yrs. Old. Saw Richmond a few days before. What a great show (and the next night also) love watching shows I've been to. Still searching for a Saratoga '85 video. Thanks man 👍
Cincinnatus McClung Rest in Peace brother. Had the best time at these shows with Big Cincey and my beautiful West Virginia friends in 1985. We got outta town right as a huge flood was hitting the state. Escape to New York to see The Boys! Stayed at a hotel where a gym teacher convention was happening and those gym teachers had one helluva night with all the heads in the hotel! Night the Living Gym Teachers!! They were like "Oh there was a concert tonight?" Bwa ha ha ha. Wonderful shows!!! Thanks so much for posting. It's a beautiful thing to find this stuff on here!
Thank you Kevin RIPPIN Sampson Saw every show from Halloween night to the end then the Kaiser shows in Oakland in November then the first New Years there since 1982 with the tower of lower and Etta James don’t get me started Jerry Saves
If u have a smart phone u can download the deadhead archives. What an app. Every and I mean every show is there. Sound boards audience. All absolutely sick recordings. I had been looking for a Soundboard to Harrisburg 84. For 20 years I searched. Sure enough the app has it. So much music it's insane. ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!
Amazing. I was there making the magic during drums. I would we could have kept it up, but we were all so freaking high! I mean the entire audience. It was a definite experiment of weird.
Wow what a f’ng show !!! I got to the next one which was dynamite too. I see another post saying the guy was a senior in college at these two shows I was a freshman down at Wilkes and we headed up for the second night. Blue blodder and I was there for it man. Midnight hour was the first song I’d ever heard the dead play so I would’ve loved to have seen this encore but I did get the next night satisfaction with the blues for allah back drop!!!
BHP starts my day off with a bang! I played my audience tape of this MANY times. Great energy and pace and Jerry's voice sounds great! Thanks to the music techs at BHP for all your Deadness and KT for delivering it! ✌
I was there. This was my 4th show. quickly into it I looked at my buddy and we knew we were in for a ride. After the show, I hitchhiked back to NYC on the NY state thruway with my girlfriend in a jean jacket. never went from something so hot to something so cold!
Two hours and 10 minute show. Phish are all 60 years old and play three hour shows to this day after 40 years together. I'm not a fan of Phish, I'm just saying. I did see three hour GD shows during their 1990 MSG run but it was sad to see them play such short shows because Garcia was a mess from 84-86 and in the 90's from 92-95.

When the camera is still and focused the picture resolution is beautiful! One of your best!!
Huge props to Jeff, Ian, Togos and Kevin. You folks at Brokedown Productions continue to outdo yourselves.
My first GD show. Went by myself and Dad dropped me off/picked me up because I wasn’t old enough to drive. Hot setlist. Thanks!

Cool dad! Mine would have NEVER done that. If I had asked he would have laughed his ass off.
