For anyone else late to the party, pocket A is roughly a 3 x 4 inch rectangle and you should be able to rough out the rest of the patterns from there. Happy crafting!
Only when starting to do leather work did I realize what a high level of skill you have attained. You are right, doing manual tasks on cheap leather again and again is the way to build craftsmanship. Thanks for all you do!
I dig the design. Simple. Clean. Relative to a project, I have been sketching out a pencil case. When I was young and in school I had a tan pencil case that was almost like a leather tube with a zipper. As a kid it was the magic pencil bag. In my adult years I look for ways to bring childhood simplicities back...because who wants to be an adult all the time.
I made this wallet after watching this about 3 years ago and it has been excellent and still has no visible wear marks, I edge it in brown and that hasn't cracked either. Today I ordered the acrylic template from Buckleguy to start making more for friends and family. Thank you for this video.
Hmmm.. seems all of the items under "Corter Leather" on Weavers site is gone (there's still links, but they don't go anywhere).. not sure if it permanent or just a temp thing.. but no templates or anything else...
Such a craftsman. And your instructional videos just keep getting better and better. Thanks so much for what you do. My journey of leather working continues because of you guys and I really appreciate it!
For years, I have been using flexible clear plastic cutting boards from the Dollar store to help with pattern making. They work great! I never knew until today that you sold pattern plastic :)
Wow , I love this. I have never made anything from leather. Help Please, how do I get started? What basic starter tools are required. I want to learn everything. How to glue, burnish. I want to make this card wallet.
I’d like to see all the different tools you use. Along with the vocabulary you use when you’re working. Basically a beginners video much like this one.
This vid was made at a time when Weaver sponsored Corter. That is likely why the pattern is no longer available on Weaver's website. As it is fairly straightforward design you should be able to make your own pattern. Easy peasy.
The video about the differences between machine stitching and saddle stitching was very informative but I’d love an instructional video all about saddle stitching!
I enjoy watching your videos while crafting. I just made my first minimalist wallet with a marbled dye effect, using shaving cream. I know in most of your videos you don't do much dying, but I would like to see a professional perspective on the marble dying technique. I would love a wallet you've made , so I can use it as incentive to keep improving my own work.
Greetings, still continue to be amazed, with this idea and concept totally, not only in the principles of construct ,but also in functionality. Amazing and awesome , not jusrto watch , but also to listen, as the "draw, cut and stitch " goes along. The simple economy of movements is a treat to watch, like observing and doing a "residency" in leather craft. Great project to make and gift to golfing buddies,! THANKS
So I was at work the other day and I was putting on my work tool belt and I started thinking that you guys would be great to make some leather ones love your videos and very educational actually the reason why I have started leather crafting as a new hobby!
I love your videos. I just started leather working. I would like to see more videos on what is the best leather you can use for wallet making and the best budget leather for starting out leather working. Thank you.
I am so very new at leather crafting, and I'm so inspired by Corter and Weaver. I would love to see a pattern for a simple glasses case. What's really holding me back is picking the leather - I'm not sure what would be the best/safest leather for glasses. I guess I'm looking for some suggestion as to what would be stiff enough to provide some protection, but have a soft side that wouldn't scratch up my lenses. Love you guys!
One future aim of mine is to make a hip-bag to carry some leather working essentials to a public show next year. It will be a very complex build for me as it would be built to perform a specific task, but also incorporate lots of different geometry and design elements. (Buckles, Zippers, Belt, clasps etc...) Possibly too much for a single video, but I'd love to see your take on something like that! Thanks again for all the great tips and advice!!!
Great video once again! I’m really liking this new style with you explaining everything as you do it. And THANK YOU for not playing background music 😂 This might be a longer video or maybe a small multi video series but I’d like to see you make a small women’s side bag or hand bag type thing. Food for thought!
Thank you for being such a huge inspiration for me, you were my motivation to start working with leather. I would love to see you make a phone case that wraps well around the phone (like a wet molding technique). One that is simple and thin and that hugs the phone. Thanks again for being so awesome!
Try a holster. A pancake holster with a tooled stiffener. Or you could do a double layer belt. Both is a lot harder than people think. But I'd love to see you go for the holster. I love your work. I've been doing leather work since I discovered your channel and you make it look so easy I thought hmm I could do that lol. Well it wasn't so easy of course now I got the fundamentals down and make wallets, belts, holsters, zippo cases wet formed etc. I do tooling a lot now. Thanks for all the info. Love the new format where you teach what you're doing.
I think a crossbody pouch that can double as a belt pouch. The strap can be snapped to tabs on the pouch, with the strap removed the tabs allow the pouch to be snapped around a belt .
I'd like to see more bag videos with patterns that would be available for purchase. You've made great bags in the past and I think larger bags would be an excellent addition to your line.
A topic I’ve been very interested in is edge paint. Meaning, heatable vs sanded. Or non heatable edge paints. What’s the pros and cons to each. And what the steps are for both maybe. Would be a cool topic I think.
This is probably too late. But pick me!! Just starting to think about making leather crafting my winter hobby. Your videos are awesome and are really giving me the itch to get started!! Any video on beginner tools or a must have list to get started would be amazing!!
Instead of the plastic sandwich you could use the bottom of a sardine can and get some protection from scanning thieves too! Really like this design and it is my main carry wallet!
Eric, you make great videos and with the voice over the instructions are so great. I made several of these without the plastic in the center. Seems like once you place one credit card or similar into the wallet it stiffens it up. Thanks so much.
Ooo definitely a medium tool pouch or small everyday carrying pouches! I’ve been looking for a decent video to watch and get inspiration ☺️ great work!
Great video. I'm about to take leathercraft up as a hobby and have a suggestion for a small project. A leather key fob cover for the ones like the GM fob where the key slides out of the side.
I downloaded this pattern from Weaver last week and make a couple with a few modifications. I really enjoy doing a build along with you two 😁. I also really enjoy your helpful tips. I'd love to see some more videos with some unique dye techniques or even some more belt pouches or small bags.
Make a lidded box! The style could be either separate panels that are stitched together or the more traditional square with the wall "tabs" that fold up to make the appropriate shape.
I am sure that the giveaway is long gone but there is one that I would love to see you guys do. Well I can be better word they are a couple of holsters. One would be in holster for the new liner iPhone 11 promax and iPhone 12 Pro Max. And the kind I’m looking for is holster type that has somewhat of an angle pull out so you just have to pull the phone out and push it in. No snaps no flap just pull and push ramps with a little cut out along the top corner to help facilitate pulling it out easier. The other one would be some sort of holster that you could either thread your belt through Luke’s or better yet would be a clip. This will allow you to clip on A holster type case. One opening would hold the AirPods Pro and the other feature would be a small flashlight holder. About the size of a AAA flashlight. I can provide rough measurements and even flashlight models for reference and then on the other side would be some sort of Key clip. I can also provide a reference photo for what I had in mind. I am happy to discuss with you further on it and so far am thoroughly loving your videos! You have taken an art form that I have just learn by trial and error as well as from my grandfather out of necessity on the ranch and if current it into a hobby that I thoroughly love and forward to doing more of! I also look forward to hearing from you soon and keep up the great work guys!
Great job! Never thought of the pattern plastic as a body for these kind of small wallets. I usually just put a liner on the middle body of my wallet. I think I'll give it a try! Keep up the great work, always a pleasure to watch your videos

Looks like Weaver has stopped carrying the pattern. Wouldn't be too hard to come up with one fresh, but is that PDF still available anywhere?

I have not seen many machete scabbard making videos. Thats what I would like to see. Whether for decoration or for general machete use.
