I took a drink every time you said "This is my first time doing this" and I ended up on the floor laughing like a hyena. Dude it's OK. Everybody has a first time. And it almost always is messy. 🤣
I have to say that, as someone just now getting into leather craft, you make learning very enjoyable. I look forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you, please keep them coming!
what I am thinking from sewing is when you bend the corners for the zipper, the zipper itself doesn't bend quite that well, so sometimes little small snips at the corners on the inside edge into a V shape helps make it bend smoother, you can sew it together, or/and tape/glue it together so it doesn't fray or tear. Make sure to match the V lines together though. Also, I noticed the corner edges are a bit more rounded then the other wallet example. So perhaps lower the zipper inward just a little bit, like a millimeter may help with the shaping.
What an amazing design! Kayleenes designes always surprise me. This is a packed wallet. everything happens on such a tight scale. Oh, i loved the C.P. (Corter Pounder) Hammer - Zippertime reference ;) Here I am in front of my screen singing "can't stich this..:"
This tutorial is a great reminder that even the most experienced crafters have their share of struggles. It's inspiring to see the progression from the first try to the final product, and the fact that you shared the whole process, warts and all, is really valuable for those of us who are also just starting out. The final result is a beautiful full zip wallet with lots of storage, and I'm excited to give it a try myself. Thanks for sharing and Happy Crafting! :))
the design is lovely and it is really nice to see, that there is a learning curve for everybody, even highly experienced craftsman! where do you get snaps with no caps?
21:37 - So, if you skive and glue the outer shell before you round the corners, isn't that going to make the outer shell thicker at the corners? Isn't that gonna make everything thicker at the corners?
Thank you for your great content. WD-40 base is just a water displacement/rust inhibitor. Using a lubricating oil will last longer and work better! Have a great day!
If I can make some of the Korean designs I have worked on with slim gussets and piping that makes me want to cry during installation, I think I can do this. Lol. I'm going to purchase the pattern on payday. I like the idea of adding a handle to this one too.
This was my thought too. I'm sure it's fine once you get your head around it, but probably best to make your first try of this pattern away from any children you don't want to have an expanded vocabulary.
I love your videos, product, and pattern designs. I also love to build them. Could you and Kaleena do a video on how to make a pattern design or how to design a pattern? I would like to learn how to design my creation.
So I have a question: have you ever made this wallet before? Just kidding 😅 Thank you so much for this video and showing how it was, making it for the first time. I'm not new to sewing, but to working with leather, and I am so grateful for your channel. I'm definitely getting this sewing pattern. It's so beautiful!
Could you design a wallet with a circle cut-out for an air tag? I know wallets like that are being made now- my husband puts his AirTag in his wallet- but it makes it all bulgy! Lmk if this is in your plans! :)
Also the teeth of the zipper is kinda large, so it make its harder to bend and fit properly at times, so if you can find one with smaller teeth then it is also easier too.

Love this wallet design. Before the video was done my wife said she wants one so I bought the pattern. Looking forward to it,
Well done, Erik. Great design, Kayleena! You are both amazing.

this video was gas lighting me at 22:40 and 23:59 lol straight up thought i was going crazy for a sec lol. awesome pattern though!
I admire your commitment to teaching us from our perspective. Well done.
Oh this looks fun! And exactly like what I've been looking for! I'm going run, not walk, to get that pattern! Great stuff!!

"I Could BARELY Make This Zip Wallet...Can You?" -Yes. And great video by the way! I always learn something new on your channel.

this is excellent, thanks
I'm halfway through and already I think I have to make this soon.

Every new vid, I’m like, “Is this the announcement of the new tools? My wallet is ready! I don’t want to miss out!”
At 18:45 the measure should be 12mm from tape edge to zipper not 1.2mm
Хотел посмотреть на изделие, в итоге залип на все это время👍👍👍
Hello! Is it easier to shape that leather using the mold for this tricky glueing part at 30:00 ? Will it make any difference or?
Am I missing something or 22:42 and 23:59 are the same bit of the video?
Oops
It's just a glitch in the matrix.

Shut up and take my money :D !
Best pattern ever so far !
Please Kayleena I would like more of your creativity please :p
Awesome vids like always !
The squeak is cute.
Is there a way to adjust the design in order to make it resemble the a more traditional bifold design?
I love this kind of videos
Me too.
How do you think this would work with 1-1.5oz crazy horse interior (pockets and zipper pouch) and 3-5oz shell?

You all have some great designs! Wish I was as good with a ruler as you are free hand. If I made 100 cuts, no 2 would be square lol
"it's actually easy" was said so many times I am actually scared 😅 but anyways, 48 minutes of pleasure ❤️
❤

If you were using this zipper technique for another project, how would you calculate how long your leather strips should be?
I love your videos, product, and pattern designs. I also love to build them. Could you and Kaleena do a video on how to make a pattern design or how to design a pattern? I would like to learn how to design my creation.
I feel the minimal branding thing. People will always seek out high quality things… companies don’t need to slather their brand everywhere.
Good save on the glue drop 👍
do you have a pattern for a men wallet with an ID slot.?
So I have a question: have you ever made this wallet before? Just kidding 😅 Thank you so much for this video and showing how it was, making it for the first time. What is Keelys channel called? Sorry if I mis spelled her name!
I like the design and your instructions. My only fault is that the ID window is to small and needs a plastic cover sewn into it.
Very good.
Do you have a pattern for this wallet?
No I couldn't it hurt my back just looking at it. But very beautiful work.
Could you design a wallet with a circle cut-out for an air tag? I know wallets like that are being made now- my husband puts his AirTag in his wallet- but it makes it all bulgy! Lmk if this is in your plans! :)
Have you sold your knives yet? Just wondering if I missed them.
What is the name of the pattern

Had a repeat clip at 24:00
Am I the only one trying to figure out what watch you're wearing? I want to say it's a Glycine Combat Sub, but I'm not positive. 🤔
Just a Steinhart, the cheap one that scratches the rolex itch but is $300 hahaha
Модель интересная, но углы выглядят безобразно..😮
Тебе же сказали, что первый раз делают эту модель
Have to disagree with one thing! There can't be too many card pockets!
