When replacing brake pads, a “break-in” or “burnishing” procedure is recommended to properly condition both the brake pads and brake rotors for the best service and long life. The burnishing process, if done correctly, does at least three things to the pads and/or the rotor:
1.) Physically and thermally converts the composition of the pad and/or rotor surfaces
2.) Smoothes the asperities (roughness/unevenness) of the mating surfaces
3.) Heat cycles the entire pad structure
When you install Raybestos Street Performance brake pads or Professional Racing brake pads, a more intensive bedding procedure is required.

    This is more of a why-to than a how-to

Please include the steps for “how to” do a process if you label your video a “how to” guide.

What a pointless video. All that talking and you didn't even talk us through the full procedure, just a kind of rough idea of it.

Thank you. That actually was helpful. I usually get my track brakes pre-bedded, but this time, they weren't, and I wondered if the standard bedding procedure would be adequate for what I needed. Now I know I'll need to be more aggressive in the second portion of the bedding procedure to get the outcome I need.

so when you buy a brake system, you're buying an unfinished product? what about when you buy a brand new car, you have to do a bedding in process?

Most Brand new cars generally require you to break in the motor too by not driving past a certain rpm for a certain mileage
