Excellent vid, I have this Holly 1940 carb on my 200 in my 64 Ranchero, the motor is actually from a 66 'Stang, that was from a friend of mine who put a 302 in his car and gifted me the block, which has been recently rebuilt but the thing is hard starting and I'm looking to rebuild the carb. And as you said I've seen some of the Mike's vids too. I'll get his parts that you got, thanks for the reference on that. This was helpful in that you made a few hic cups and had to go back and correct them, I love vids like that cuz everything I did, on car builds, I have to do twice or thrice anyway, plus buying parts I don't need or did not fit right. Nice to see you getting your kid involved early; good stuff, memories than will last a lifetime. I worked a lot with my dad as a carpenter when I was a kid. Now I'm 77 and have some of his tools!! And you might even learn some stuff too, besides it being fun!! LOL :D
Thanks for taking the time to drop this comment, I very much appreciate it. I am happy the video can provide some help and thanks for watching! Good luck on your rebuild!
@@WhitetailGarage yes, thanks, the darn thing runs great when started but is tough to cold start. A rebuild with an attention to choke may help, I also have a garage nearby that may help, it has an "old guy" (younger than me, LOL) who know these old carbs,.. to look at it. Later. : )
