Another 6.0 fixed, another LEGEND gone. When I made this video, I wasn't aware for what I was about to hear in the coming weeks. The man behind the magic at / @powerstrokehelp has since passed on to the other side where him and Diesel Tech Ron are NO LONGER getting dirty with diesel fuel. These fellows paved the way for so many of us. They were the goto when it came to the Powerstrokes, pre 6.7 PSD. Please stop by and visit Diesel Tech Ron and Ol' Bill Hewitt here on the TH-cam and let their friends and family know that you are thinking about them. We all 3, appreciate that you share our content and that you keep our message going about the trucks we love so much. THANKS so much everyone for watching each weeks episode, means a lot. I tired to be like Bill, a while ago. Should I re do it??? th-cam.com/video/ovA6_0Deeqk/w-d-xo.html
No be yourself
It was supposed to be comical
Rest in peace Bill Hewitt and Diesel Tech Ron. The powerstroke community lost some great people. These two guys enlightening me how diesel engine work. Hopefully we will have mechanics too carry the torch for the powerstroke community.
Bill and his team did their "Signature service" on our two 6.0 PSD trucks. Both trucks have been spot on reliable ever since. I miss Bill and his great videos!
RIP BILL! A true trooper in the diesel community!!
It hurt me to find out Bill is no longer with us. I simply enjoyed his knowledge and humor.
Bill put the head gaskets and studs in my truck at 17K…. I’m just about to 378K without the cab ever being off again. Rest easy brother
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!
Maintenance is key with the 6.0… 3k on oil changes and it doesn’t look like diesel oil. Looks like conventional. Original injectors, not a leak from anywhere, just a couple of alternators and a radiator. I’m still getting 16 to the gallon
Bill really took the 6.0 which we’re selling for nothing 10 years ago, like 4-5k, and brought the values up after figuring it all out. Most people don’t know the lengths that Bill went to. He actually went to a German company that made a polymer of some sort that bound the heads to the block of race cars and experimented with that on the 6 liters. It worked very well, but the company could not produce the quantity that Bill needed so that’s when he went head studs and fire ringed the heads. True legend .
RIP Bill! Between him Diesel tech Ron and even Sr master tech and now you, I have learned the ins and outs of 6.0’s, cab off, cab on, FICM’S, HPOP’S, IPR’S, ICP pressures, EGR’S, variable vane turbos, and stand pipe orings. Good day sir!
We appppreciate chu bud
Yeah what ever happened to sr master tech???
He had gotten cancer i beleive
Don't forget about senior Master tech Rest in Peace
Rusty Bunn
Jesus! I’m shocked to learn about Bill’s passing! I watched his videos all the time! The knowledge he had! RIP Bill!
Awesome you did this, RIP bill
Top notch repair as always G-money…! RIP Mr. Hewitt, condolences 💐 to his family and loved ones. God Bless you PTT for respectfully tipping the hat, and giving credit where credit is due. The legends turning wrenches in Heaven.
🫂💙🫂💙🫂💙🫂💙
Appreciate you showing respect to Bill. I know he rubbed some people the wrong way with his non sugar coating approach to doing business. But the dude knew his power strokes!
@Arod what are your future plans now that you're not at the dealership?
Thanks bud, he paved the way for all of us. We are FULL steam ahead! Look forward to meeting you all on the outside, finally.
RIP BILL.,, Definitely step up and take your place as the next Guide for us Powerstroke owners.

I wish I could have taken my truck to Bill and the team in Georgia back in 2017 when I had it "Dealerproofed" by a shop in Arizona. Reliable Diesel in Mesa AZ did a great job. The truck just wasnt reliable, left me stranded with my 5W too many times. It had 235k and I just felt like it was becoming a ticking timebomb with a potential lifter failure. I think Im rambling now.
Bill’s shop put an engine in my 6.4 and added a towing tune. Well a few years later I needed something done on the 6.4 but his shop got out the 6.4 business. I was willing to pay extra but he refused the offer…great guy to chat with. RIP Bill.
Who wouldn’t get out of the 6.4 business 😂
@nicholasrappold5910 riiiiiight
Unfortunately we lost two big power stoke legends but we still got a big dog AROD 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽. Thanks for all the content my guy.
Taaaaaaaah VO
Bill did my 2005 6.0 in 2016. RIP 🙏
The days when half the engine wasn’t tucked under the firewall, what a pita, I have an 06 F250 with a 6.0, it just turned 25,000 miles, great video sir 👍😁
Tech Tip: when reinstalling the oil log. Cover all the open holes with Vaseline or trans goo. Leave one open and fill the rail with clean oil. Once full cover last opening. Then install. It will cut down on cranking when finishing the job. Learned that from my trainer when I first started. Cut cranking in half of not more.
Knowledge bomb!!!
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARodI may not be a smart man but I'm not dumb 😂
love the shoutout to 2 legends. RIP. great quality video, enjoyed, hope to see more 6.0 powerstrokes
I bought my 2005 6.0 from Bill two years ago this month drove from wy to Bills shop picked up my truck . Got to meat Bill and staff . What a great experience . Got 20000 thou on it now .keep up the maintenance all good . Love the truck . RIP Bill .
They really had some of the best videos. Both their channels helped learn how to do alot on my own. I learned everything from how to change oil to diag and replace injectors. Much respect and appreciation for both. Thank you for recognizing them and for your own contributions.
Him and Ron watching over us now in Power Stroke heaven.
I sent my 2003 6.0 f350 CCLB to Bill and team from SoCal to Buford and I drove it back with my dad taking turns driving and seeing the country.
I am glad I had them work on it as a local shop had quoted a used engine stating they found metal in the oil and the engine was scrap (the symptom was a random skip at hwy speed and contribution code). Scott called me the following day after they received my truck and said all I needed was one injector. I was at 115,000 miles I had shipped the truck and had wanted the dealer proofing any ways so I had them do it all. Felt like a new truck even sounded different had a deep solid exhaust sound. I have put over 45,000 miles 2 years later and not one problem. Bill and the Team were great they all signed a Power Stroke flag and took a picture. Great guys and top notch work!
RIP Bill you are missed
Thats sick!!!
Thanks for the video.
Awesome tribute buddy. Great job AROD as always. LSW Eve!!
RIP Bill.
awesome video brother!! Bill will be greatly missed!!
Great job😊😊😊
Great job. I like these engines because you can pretty much diag them just by their sound.
It sounds very nice 😀😀
Much respect for using the torque wrench!
RIP Bill Hewitt and DTR… I was able to take information I learned from their videos on 6.0s and apply it to my LCF trucks to keep them on the road, and they are still on the road to this day. I learned so much from them that after I got the LCFs figured out, I went and bought a 6.0 to fix up!
Nice 6.0. Never worked on one but the 7.3 I know my way around pretty good!
Sent my 07 4wd to Bill and Co in March of 22. Picked it up about 3 wks later and drove it non stop to TX. Great job by all. I haul a 40 hp tractor in the hill country here.
Thats bad asss
I liked bill’s videos will miss him
Enjoyed the video and the information.
It looks like you have a lot of space in your service bay. I have seen dealerships that pack the techs in shoulder to shoulder.
Hope they enjoy it, I quit sonny
Learned a lot about 6.0 from him
My friend took his 60to Bill cab off total engine rebuild. That was about five years ago ran great no other issues with it intil he had a head on wreak by a dude that was later DUI. My bud came out good the truck not good. It was total.
Holy crimminy
Dang that sucks. I watched a ton of his videos. Impressive outfit
Really miss Bill Hewitt
RIP to both of them and I will add RIP Rusty his channel was srmastertech although he didn’t do much troubleshooting videos I enjoyed watching him work on PSDs
It is so interesting watching someone do a job that you've done so many times just seeing how other people do it. I personally do not disconnect map sensor hose from intake, I unplug electrical connector and then swing map sensor over onto the engine. Just how I do it. See you at SEMA brotha
Look us up. Big booth JM3
As much as DTR and Bill are missed and respected by all in the community, there's many great techs still around. Im thankful for channels like "Mr know it all", Sr master tech, "Ford tech Makuloco", "Custom works", A-Rod of course and a handful of others I cant remember off hand at the moment.
I commend all my ford brothers. Youre awesome fyir the shout out to these men, I hope thier families see the commet section, and know how much respect and love we have for all our wrenchy brothers world wide.
Y'all are beyond awesome, I watch all of yas!
Almost took my ‘03 6.0 Excursion to him. The only thing that stopped me was how far away they are from me.
RIP Bill Hewitt. A patriot as well.
You forgot the original seniormastertech rusty bunn
Omg!!!!! I sure did.....oh man i gotta add to it.... aw now i feel bad
I owned a 6 leaker new from 04 to 19. Oem head gaskets, injectors, turbo, tranny, transfer and diffs. Put 275k on it and sold it to a guy that is still driving it. I miss the claking of the diesel and that whistle but that’s about it. Always had to keep on it, weekly check for ghost codes or active codes. Good truck but glad I switched to the 6.7 aluma duty. Way better truck in my opinion
I only have 1 7.3 expert left on TH-cam now. Custom Works out of Michigan. So sad.
There's others
My dad always taught me that real men drive 6.0’s when I turned 17 he bought me one with blown head gaskets and made me fix it so I could have my first truck.
Another great video ARod!.. Question what is the highest mileage 6.0 completly stock that you have seen come in. My 03 has 250,000 and runs great. I have heard horrible stories about the 03s but i must say i have been very pleased over the years.
Just missed a 2003 at a construction company auction. 509,000 miles. (Not sure about original)
Hi
...thats it, just Hi. Hello mr phosphorus
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod hola¿
are you back at the dealership? i noticed the logo blurred out when visible....
Hell no & you damn right
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod ah I see. Just previous unseen footage!
Yes ssssir
What do I think??? I think these diesel pickups are money pits...you could not give me one. I have been around diesel engines all of my life and these pickups have the sorriest and most expensive to maintain diesel engines I have ever seen.
I’m so confused I thought you quit the ford house?
Brotha these videos aren’t filmed the day of…
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I gotcha. Didn’t really think that through a whole lot. 😂
🙊🤣🙉🤣🙊🤣🙉🤣🙊🤣🙉🤣
Did you pass 300000 for them on the test drive?
Yeppp sure did
What happened to Bill
Had a heart attack
Is it really true what happened to him
Very
Heart arrack right?
@MlH-vg2pq his shop manager commented & confirmed it last week
