    The upper spring mount rusting out can happen on any of the trucks with A/C. It's from the condensation drip tube and dryer dripping water on it constantly. That's why the drivers side can appear mint.

      @@tyhewitt4858 The two glimpses you get in the footage it didn't look as bad as the passenger side but I edited my comment based on my experience and living in the NE. My 05 & 06 DRW (180k+ miles ea.) and customers 06 & 07 SRW 90k & 130k miles) all had perfectly fine drivers side spring buckets but all had some rust (not as bad as yours) from the AC drips on the passenger side. None of these trucks were plow trucks. Plow trucks are rust buckets around here.
      But I'll send you an email anyways and take a look.

    I’m at 260k on mine. Engine has been out before. I can tell by the lift hooks. No clue when or why. Runs amazing. Got me nervous tho. Do a “where’s that oil leak” cause I have a few and I can’t tell exactly from where. I know I have valve cover seeping, and looks like a glow plug harness leak, possibly bedplate. Would be nice to see how y’all can just look at them based on where the oil is at and determine a leak position.

    • @coderedfit
      @coderedfit 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. Mine has 195,00 and same kind of leaks you just described. I have some oil in the valley but it looks fairly dry. Def have a d/s valve cover leak and hopefully just a glow plug harness leak. Bottom and sides of engine are covered in oil but it hardly ever drips when I'm parked.

      @@derrickporter679 turbo pedestal o-rings, EBPV assembly, sometimes the turbo compressor bolts come loose. All I see when I watch these videos is someone bad mouthing his customers. These trucks with a good top end are stout, the pioneers like Warren, and Keeter have proven that. With a cam failure like this the customer could of very well been driving down the road minding his own business.
    Also just because the date on the battery is from a certain year doesn't mean they are bad. The harness looks rough, but is there any lights or codes stored the module? Replacing a entire harness is a little excessive. I might make it as a suggestion since it seems like the customer is proud of his truck. An while you was picking apart the head studs you should mention it could of been someone very skilled and qualified.

    Hey, gotta question for you. My EGR Cooler failed at 81,000 miles, so i pulled Cab did ARP Head Studs and had heads re-surfaced, and had grooves cut for O-Rings, Delete the EGR System, at same time also installed the 6.4 RCD Chromemoly Push Rods, also did Regulated Fuel Return, Airdog ll-4g Lift Pump, along with a KC Stage 2 Turbo, Warren 175/30 injectors, Odawgs s3r Ported Intake Manifold, and also Exhaust and Air Intake Systems. So far I've put about 8,000 miles on everything, and everything A O.K. Also bought Truck Brand New always changed Oil and Filter every 4,000 Miles like Clockwork. Since I've taken so good care of Engine since new and I'm only at 89,000 miles, Should i be worried about Lifter Failure ? Like i said the Shorter 6.4 Push Rods went in at 81,000 miles when the Heads were off. Thanks for your help. Truck is a 2006 Model year.

    It's all the road salt up here in the northeast that eats steel like candy. It's so hard to pressure wash it all out. You really need a lift to get to all those inaccessible areas. I have an '06 E-350 6.0l. Thankfully there's no rust at all and I hope to keep it that way. I also have an '06 Chrysler Town and Country with 244,000 miles that is a total rust bucket but runs great. Go figure.

    • @Itsa_Mea
      @Itsa_Mea 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That upper spring mount can rust out on any of the trucks with A/C and you won't even know it. East coast salt has nothing to do with it. The condensation is constantly dripping on it from the HVAC box.

They helped me fix my friends truck . As far as the push rod length interesting. .. I like premium lifters and change them.out at some point before they fail.

    • @MoparMadness93
      @MoparMadness93 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have an idea what it takes to change the lifters in that engine. You have to pull the engine so you can remove the rear timing cover, just so you can remove the branch tube that prevents the rear lifters from coming out after you remove the high pressure oil pump. Then after you pull the heads can you remove the rear 4 lifters. The front 4 come right out after you remove the heads

    Moral of the story... 6.0s are a junk motor design and unless you spend a butt load of money, you can't even come close to the reliability of a Cummins. That's why I sold my 6.0 and bought a 6.7 Cummins and now loving life!

    Ford should have a buy back program for every truck with the 6.0 and 6.4 so the Ford guys stop going broke buying used diesels that can’t outlast a gasser form the 90’s. 260k and it still needs 10k for dealer proof and cams shot? Fucking junk. There is a reason the Ford mechanics have so much Success doing rebuild tutorials and “upgrades” just to make them as reliable as a Volkswagen
