The interviewer is super chill, like you could tell he's nervous when it comes time to ask deeper & more personal questions, but aside from that he's real laid back. I dig it man.
***** Hi, there. Yes, I was aware of the fact that Whitechapel aren't a Christian band. Phil stated in one of his videos on his PhillyBo channel that he was agnostic. I was merely stating that I thought it was funny that someone changed their genre from Deathcore/Death Metal to Christian Metal. I'm more making light of the absurdity that people can edit content on Wikipedia. Thanks for your response. :-)
Jared Aycock if you're insult was directed at me, it shows how stupid you are because you didn't read my post. Now read carefully, junior - I said it was funny that someone changed their genre on Wikipedia to Christian Metal when they are not a Christian band. How does that make me an elitist scum? That's like me calling Stryper a Black Metal band. I'm making fun of how people can easily change info on Wikipedia, and people cite it so often. Did you get that, junior?
This guy is an excellent interviewer. He orders the questions is such a way that he can touch on sensitive topics quickly, then shift focus to something more positive.
The major thing I love about this interviewer is how he lets the band talk, and encourages them to talk. He never pushes his own opinion or talks over them.

Phil and Alex have a great dynamic, Phil's obviously pretty introverted and doesn't answer the more superficial questions and looks at Alex after the questions asked. He answered all the deeper questions about some of the songs/albums meanings and history. Phil doesn't seem mad at all, just calm and reserved. Crazy how different he Is on stage, they were phenomenal when I saw them a few years ago. Phil's an animal
After hearing this song "elitist ones" i gained so much respect for phil. There are so many elitist douchebags in metal so the fact he did that was super ballsy and awesome of him.
Why is everyone insisting that Phil and Alex look like they wanna punch the interviewer? And it's not just this one,it's every interview ever with a metal vocalist, Phil literally always looks like this, and Alex looks relaxed and was completely eloquent when answering each question, why does everybody look angry to y'all????? What are you seeing, like????
mrtalkative91 I met Phil and the rest of the band on the 10 Years of Exile tour. Phil was nice, yet pretty quiet when I met him. Maybe he felt off the day this interview was. Who knows?
@@sydneylorenz5475 He's stated he's a quite shy and introverted person. Maybe that's why some people think he's a dick. Seems like a really nice dude to me.
@KetchupAddictions Reminds me of how my parents are big Counting Crows fans, even named me after the vocalist. A couple of years back they did a meet & greet with the band for an anniversary or something and the singer was super quiet, didn't really interact much. Kinda like Phil here. Parents were kinda disappointed by how it went, but they did some reading afterwards and turns out Adam has some serious psych stuff going on. Something about him dissociating in social situations. Not sure if Phil's got it to the same extent that Adam does, but I wouldn't be all that surprised.
5:05 onwards... Phil says that you can't get over it. Well, he wrote another banger a few years later relating to that incident in his life and now "When A Demon Defiles A Witch" is one of their most widely loved songs. Phil is really smart lyrically and straightforward about it. I respect and appreciate him a lot. 👌🏻
I met Phil outside of corporation Sheffield. He was super cool even though I was hammered after watching White Chapel. He was very kind and took a picture with me. Thanks Phil.
Here's a drinking game: Take a shot of your favorite liquor every time Phil says "You know" when he is talking. Then come back to us with the story of what you did when you were drunk.
I met Phil at a show at the harmony grange in Delaware, he was a genuinely good guy, we talked for about 20 mins. This was when the this is exile album came out
i knew phil and the rest of the band were true metalheads when they did a quadruple encore at the last mayhem festival. all the other bands bailed cause the parking lot venue was set aside for bruce springstein venue the next day. whitechapel played for 70000 fans in the beer garden at shoreline. utmost respect
You know, Whitechapel is going to leave its mark in heavy metal just like morbid angel or pantera. This aint just a bunch of nu guys, this is proper death metal and taken to its perfection. They are going far. I LOVE WHITECHAPEL.
I saw Kevin in JC recently. Actually my old drummer Travis Cook still has Kevin's kit to this day and I believe the drum cases with the WC still spray painted on it.
When they talk about the passing of phils mother and they say it doesn't get any easier after she passed its all true my dad passed away almost a year ago and there isn't one day that I don't think about him and he is the reason I keep drumming and keep trying to find a way to be a musician someday
I see that mitch lucker memorial shirt
He played at the memorial show. And it was amazing i have the blu ray for it.
Damn i have so many likes for this lotttsss of Mitch Lucker fans out there. I'm glad you guys are showing the respect to.

Tthey had a hologram of Mitch Performing engine No.9 by Deftones, while the rest of the band played live .

Agnostic just means lack of knowledge. Back on track, their first tour was with a Christian band, so I can understand.

White Chapel is actually from Tennessee and they grew up not far from me. I didn't know them personally.
