The realest, most helpful, honest and INTELLIGENT review out there. You confirmed my bias that this is not for me. I want to style my hair, not air dry it straight. HUGE difference.

The Dyson Airstrait does what it is made for. By drying it straights the hair. Perfect.

I personally have the airstrait and the airwrap. For me, the airstrait is the best purchase I ever made, and the airwrap does not work at all. I have thick curly hair and regular striaghteners have a hard time with my hair, and also ruin the texture of my curls when i use them for several days. The airstrait I can twice a week and does not harm my natural curl pattern on the days I diffuse my hair! It is truly not harming my hair but DOES straighten it and keep it straight for 3 days! MY hair ir hard to work with so I was truly impressed. Due to these results, I bought the airwrap (secondhand because tis more expensive and sales were over) but the airwrap just makes my hair frizzy. My curls dont hold from it and the smoothing and blowdrying brush make it fluffy. The flyaway attachment is nice but for the price, it was not worth that purchase. the airstrait is awesome for me though!

I love my Dyson AirStraight. I have never had success blowdrying my hair. I have tried multiple methods, but it just ends up a frizzy mess. And, I would have a lot of breakage from pulling my hair with a round bristle brush. I tried using a round airstyler brush like you have suggested. That option was even WORSE than using a blowdryer and hair brush. There is damage from your hair touching the very hot round barrel for a good amount of time. And a round blowdrying brush ends up making the hair frizzier because the air used to dry your hair is shooting out from the middle of the brush, causing your hair to fly out, instead of smoothing it. With the Dyson AirStraight, it blows your hair in the correct direction to smooth your hair. There are no bristles tugging or pulling on your hair. Your air just glides through. I have WAY LESS hair damage and loss with the Dyson AirStraight. When I used either a blow dryer with a round brush, or a heated round airbrush that blows hair outward, I would have tons of hair in my sink and on the countertop. There is none of that with the AirStrait. Maybe it all depends on a person's hair texture, but it was well worth the money for me. I held off on buying it for the longest time because of the cost, but ended up kicking myself for waiting so long. I wish I had gotten it sooner.

Glad you like it and that it works for you. As I shared in the video it doesn't work for all hair types. I've seen other videos of women with curly layered hair, or straight layered hair and it doesn't look finished. I tested this well before sharing this video. I tried but it just doesn't finish my hair which means I'd need to go in with a different hair tool to fix it.

I have the hot tools and that totally damaged my hair. Too much tension and pulling on wet/ damp hair- so damaging. I have long thick hair some layers. The Dyson AirStrait dries my hair in a fraction of the time without a brush and blow dryer yanking on my hair. I love it so much I bought 3. One for home, travel and one for my daughter. The Airstrait took my hair drying routine from 1 hr to 25 minutes. A total game changer for me.

I respect that you're not satisfied with the Dyson Airstrait, and yes, it is costly. Although, as a professional hairstylist myself, I know many people can and will benefit from Dyson Airstrait. Especially for customers who want to get their hair dry and straight in a one step process is a great option. Also for customers with curly hair, who wants the straight look. You can also get some volume out of it when use correctly. I did my sister's hair which is curly and frizzy and she loves it. Her hair came out beautiful. I wish there was a way I could forward a picture so you could see the before and after. As with any tool that produces heat a heat protective product is essential! And, I totally agree with you that a case should be provided for the tool. I know Dyson is pretty good with refunding any merchandise that you're not satisfied with. Final thoughts for myself, for you and anyone else. You're to use any hair tools that works best for your hair needs😊

As a guy with type 4c hair I love the Dyson Airstrait considering i always end up having to wash my hair at night on sunday when i have to go to work the next morning. Before the dyson airstrait came into the picture I was using a Elchim blow dryer and my hair would still be damp especially at the roots which was causing mold growth and my scalp would be itching and inflammed because of that. I also dont have to deep condition as much since I seal my hair with black castor oil and when using the dyson airstrait after applying the oil its like giving my hair a hot oil treatment which deep conditions my hair as well as a natural heat protectant. My hair doesnt tangle as easy which has slowed hair breakage for me. The no case is not a problem for me because i knot up the cord and hang it on a hook in my closet. I got it on sale at bestbuy before this past christmas.

I get why you don’t like it. I love mine and hears why. It replaces a blow out brush for me. My hair is fine and wavy. I have to put so much tension on my hair to get it smooth with a blow out brush and I see lots of hair breaking off. Because this smooths the cuticle of my hair with less tension and heat, I only see a few hairs that break off when I use it. I then will follow with a curling iron but I had to do this also when doing a normal blow out. It’s not a complete styling system but it replaces a blow out for me and eliminates my frizz. It’s not for everyone and I get that.

I love those blow dry brushes. I have the Revlon and Hot Tools and used them religiously for years and had the horrific breakage to show for it. I bought the Airstraight and absolutely love it. First off there is finishing setting that seals and shines the hair strands that I don’t;t think was utilized in the review. I gets my thick, shoulder length, naturally curly/wavy hair absolutely sleek, it amazing. If I want add direct the ends or add controlled curls/waves I just use my flat iron at a reasonable temp. I would say the styling time is comparable because the Airstraight is so quick. Honestly, I wanted to hate it and send it back for a refund, but I loved it so much I kept it. 😂

I have fine frizzy curly hair and honestly when i initially tried it I thought it worked well, but My hair still got frizzy after about 30 minutes. It didn’t seem to seal the cuticle like some other heat devices do. My Revlon brush works Much better to smooth out my hair and keep it that way. I’ll pay big bucks for something if it works for me but this wasn’t it. 🙁 I do think it may work well on people who have just a little bit of frizz and curl and maybe don’t live in as humid a climate as I do.

It would give me stick straight hair (which I hate) but tons of,flyaways at the root and I’d use more product and styling tools to make it look good. It actually took more time with the Airstrait to dry my hair for a crappy result.

I wound up returning mine too. I liked how quickly it dries hair but my goal was to reduce heat styling by eliminating flat iron but I found I still need to run a flat iron over the top layer at least. That defeats the purpose as the Dyson is hotter than the lowest setting on my T3. I used almost up to the 30 day mark, I tried different styling products, rough drying roots vs hitting the roots prior to drying a section (which actually worked best for me). The main issue is while the design is good for drying the bulk of hair it doesn't allow the machine to get close enough to the roots. I really wanted to like it as I got if for 100 dollars off but at $436 including tax I can't justify it. I will say Dyson was great about the return and I received my refund 10 days from requesting it. If in the future the design allows for the machine to straighten all hair and all hair types (mine is fine & thick) I would consider re-purchasing.

😱WOW! I personally love the result you get with the Dyson Hairstrait! But totally appreciate it's not what you're after. That said, Dyson aren't claiming Hairstrait to be a "styler", ONLY to be a hairdryer-straightener. Round barrel hot brushes are much more damaging to your hair over time I'm agraid 🫢 Interesting video though.

  • @lee9604

It's called Airstrait for a reason, it dries it straight. I have shorter hair now and have used it twice and it's wonderful! It dries my hair in record time, no damage and yes, it's straight. Then I go in and add some curlers and that's it. I have the Revlon drier you're using and that thing is way too hot and causes so much damage to your hair. My hair is wavy and frizzy and this device gets rid if it in ONE pass! It's incredible! Too bad a review like this will turn people off from at least trying it.

Hi Anne, Always appreciate your honest opinion on everything you purchase even if it’s a dudd, I’ve had my straightener for years and years, I couldn’t even tell you the brand I’ve had it that long, I purchased it through my hair stylist at the time and it has a wide part where you put your hair and for my thick hair, it works really great and it’s still going Lol 😂, I have two of the Dyson hair tools and I’m still trying to keep my hair in a curl/wave whenever I use the thing, I like the look of the one you have Anne with the round brush head but unless it has strong bristles, it’s not going to work for my hair, I used my Dyson AirWrap just last night and woke up to straight hair once again Lol 😂, I’ve got so many hair gadgets it’s not funny Anne, I can’t get over how fast your hair has grown, it doesn’t seem that long ago it was way shorter, I like it the way you have it now but I like your hair more when you have it’s natural curls, either way, it’s lovely but I could see what you were talking about with the Dyson, I’m sure you’ve saved some money for some, it’s never been something I need or want…Happy Holidays from Nellie xoxo 🧑🏻‍🎄🎅🏻🎄🎄❤️❤️

I think this is probably not a tool for people with short or mid length hair. I have hair down to my mid back and I love the immediate effects of the air wrap, but notice that it gave me many split ends, and I was only really able to grow it properly when I stopped using that regularly (eg maybe using only once a month)
I've used things like the hot tools brush and yeah it looks great immediately, but it's really quite unhealthy for your hair. The Dyson dries and straightens but I think the magic is that it doesn't have bristles or overly high heat, which preserves the health of your hair compared to brush based tools.
Again, if your hair is just below your shoulders, you're probably better off with a styling and drying tool. If you have long hair or struggle with hair health or growth, I think the air straight is a great step one. Personally I would then spray it with a tiny bit of water and then do heatless curls which could dry in less than 30 minutes

I agree with you, quicker than using airwrap and flat iron, but it doesn’t finish your hair, it doesn’t give any style, you can’t get closer to the roots, so the roots stay curly. If you have long hair and not many layers, it halves the time of drying and styling, but for shorter layered cuts, it’s a waste of money. Unfortunately I cannot return it as I bought it from a department store and not from Dyson, so there is no free trial. And no case too! Very disappointed.

For me, i have borderline curly hair its both wavy and curly, its absolutely perfect especially as usually you would have to blowdry and then go in with a high heat straightener which is so damaging and i had many split ends so i majorly disagree its helpimg your hair health-wise there are many studies proving this. You also did it wrong you were go too fast, with many hot tools you are meant to go elower with it. It also does not have many sort of bristles or a brush which would of course pull and tug and weaken your hair. Its absolutely perfect for hair similar to mine -3a- and allows me to have straight hair quicker fresh out of the shower and without as much damage and you can bevel the ends vedy slightly it wont be perfect and its not meant for that purpose so if you wnat a bit of a curl and the ends use a velcro roller when your hairs hot snd its perefvt!

While your hair is damp you need to push the cold air while straightening your hair

@@MakeupForMatureSkin i don’t know why it didn’t work with you. The way I used mine is I applied heat protectant while my hair Is damp then I also applied hair serum then choose the wet icon, if I am using it the tool when my hair is dry I choose the dry icon and straighten my hair. My hair stay straight until I wash my hair. I wash my hair every other day

I fell for the HYPE, just because I wanted it to do to my hair, what it does to the models.
But no, I had a very similar outcome as yours straight but not sleek and shiny like it was sold, in fact over three days my hair would get frizzier and frizzier at the ends, so much so that I thought I had done some serious damage to my hair. And yes it is heavy and awkward, you cant get the same section back into it especially at the back of your head, it didn't reduce the time it took to do my hair, I was so disappointed & then I found I had gone past the return date by like 9 days, and it was a "strait" 🤣no for getting my money back. Went direct to Dyson, no luck, so have sent photographs to my retailer of what it did to my hair and cross fingers I can get my money back, do I then invest in the airwrap!!! my normal routine is Dyson Hairdryer, GHD straighteners, which do the job, but give me some moisture laden air and its a different matter. I had hoped the Airstrait would solve that, but it didn't. I think it must work well, just not for my hair type, fine, wavish, meurgh hair.

From other videos I’ve watched, you’re going too fast. I am actually looking for something to get pin straight lol! I have naturally curly hair and I don’t like wearing it curly anymore. I think it’s really great that they let you return it if it doesn’t work. I may go get one and try it!

It looks like you’re pulling so much pressure on your hair with the hot tools. You just need to know the proper position for the Dyson airstrait to work on your hair. I love my airstrait from Dyson. 😊

Like with all Dyson's hair products, they are expensive ASF, and even if they really guarantee the best ending I'm still not buying it because those prices for just a hair tool are brutally insane. And the worse part is that, that they are nothing out of this world...

Nothing is wrong with this tool, it doesn’t do what you want it to do. It was marketed true, it’s a blow out for straight hair. It clearly states it not for styling, this is just a blow out. To make a video on how much you dislike this product cuz ir doesn’t do what you want is kind of ridiculous, sorry but not sorry

love this blush-lip combo on you! Would you mind telling what it is? looks so good . Loved this video as well. Would never pay this pricetag for such a useless tool like that. Maybe this would be best for people with short, straight, not too thick hair, idk.
