- Steve Renyard is fearless; he is renowned for his winter angling, with countless huge carp falling to his rods every year in the cold. He never backs down from a challenge and this session on Churn Pool in the Cotswolds was certainly far from easy. Steve reveals his winter edges in specific detail, including his famous Withy Pool rig. Faced with high air pressure, cold flood water, along with short days and long nights, he alters his tactics to try and bag himself a cold-water whacker!

Great video love watching Steve unlike so many others that bore the shite out of the sport with OCD he is a normal bloke. Maybe Fox Zig kit would have helped but like he's said not a Zig angler. I remember Churn Pool when it was a trout fishery Martin Pollard trout farmer sadly passed away then went syndicate i believe when sold.Nice video 👍

I had a rig published in carp world in the early 90s using 30amp fuse wire that I had been using for 10 or more years, it caught me some big carp....exactly the same theory as the Withy pool rig....it works so well knocks the Ronnie into a cocked hat...!!

Ahh brilliant , atom splitting not heard that one . The reason you always see the Withy pool is I always get winter filming and that when I use it . I actually invented it before shrink tube was invented but thanks for the tip mate top man 👍👍
Most of these anglers weren't born steve when you invented the rig, like you I started carping in in 1976 very different world back the perhaps better..
Stevey just used Eggylad’s Noodle rig and called it a Withy?...Cheek of it! 🤣🤔

Find them cast to them and if there feeding it doesn't matter what you're rig is called hopefully you will get a bite . I've seen this bullshit for years from sponsored anglers about I used a particular rig and bingo lol ...
Unfortunately it was the first technological carp rig ever invented thats why the companies and the public want to see it . Ive invented another 6 rigs on top of that ill try harder . Bloody hell im taking up golf 😢

i struggle to watch any videos with this guy because its so repetitive, find me a video where he does not mention something he invented in the 80s borrrring move on.

Yeah fort the very same. on a sticky baits video on christchurch last year he said he had to bin the withy pool off and used just a normal solid bag rig. But there he just said he ripped chrishchurch apart on it!
Makes me laugh nobody’s hating on someone who can fish, some of us are anglers and some are danglers

What else do you expect from someone who’s invented something that works, have you invented anything all in fishing that marginally works? I don’t think so if you did you would like to show everyone that it’s good too
