- Big pits are Mitch Hammonds’ bread and butter, he loves them, and it is easy to see why as we tag along on a trip to Bradley’s Lake in the Cotswold Water Park. In typical Mitch style he unveils his baiting tactics along with his rigs which are perfectly tailored to long range fishing on huge, open expanses of water. You cannot fail to love his enthusiasm and love for big pits and the beautiful carp that reside within them.

Love the fact he isn’t using really expensive gear it gose to show that the average angler with average gear can still tackle those pits brilliant film

I'm about to start walking around a big southern pit with a view to dangle a line if I don't feel too out of my league. These big pit videos are all giving me a hell of a lot to think about, good stuff. Cheers.
I can remember a god few years back fishing just past the point ,and saw one of the storms coming across . I shut my door down, ten minutes later it hit and ripped the front of my bivvy out 😂😂 top film mitch !!

Mitch swaps and changes between Fox Horizon X5 and Spomb rods for his fishing! He can sure cast them that's for sure.

Just like to know are you using twelve or thirteen foot rods ,as I've a big expanse of water I've got in mind to fish,, and being a Dustman its a job getting any time booked off but I've managed to get first of September to the fourth just can't wait first real time off for for a year and a half...oh and great vid by the way.
