Honestly one of my favorite videos so far, Carp fishing isn’t as big in the US, they mostly kill them on my home lake but I’ll still go find a section no ones at and try for those 20+ monsters that lurk. These types of videos keep the moral up when everyone hates the one thing you love.
Paul Morgan cheers Paul, they certainly don’t have to be big to be beautiful for sure 😊 I’m more than happy fishing for lovely old scaly’s especially with perfect mouths like that one! Mets is a superb venue, I was pleasantly suprised at how much I enjoyed my trip there, very atmospheric
Aqua man 1 thanks mate, we will all be doing various content for the TA channel this year so thanks for the positive feedback and glad you enjoyed the film Kind regards Oz
Great Vlog. Love the way Oz presents as if your there chewing the fat on how he's getting on. No frills simple honest no nonsense fish. Just how it should be.
Another wonderfully shot vlog by the guys at TA , never watched a vlog with Oz b4 but so easy to watch and his way on camera is seamless. On another note never used any products from TA but sold on that rig and its components , might just have to give it a whirl , always stuck with one company since the early nineties confidence is everything ! The neatness of that rig though is a must try.
@@ozh3013oz ,bit of a random question..do you have any tips on how to stop the nevs cracking at the base. Larger rubber oring, or locking ring or longer stud.. and help advice would be appreciated , if you see this message.👍
@ hi mate , I use two rubber O rings from TA on each of the brass stems as it allows easier alignment on a bar … never over tighten or asking for trouble
@@ozh3013 cheers mate , brought 2 and they have hairline cracks. I will try that. Failing that i might try those carbon bottom plates they look good. Cheers for your time to reply👍
A great video and wonderfully shot. I’ve been watching all of oz Holmes vlogs lately and I really appreciate him as an angler. Was nice to see how oz went about dealing with the constant challenges we are faced as anglers. The bird life and the nature of the lake really made him work hard for that fish. Great Angling and I’ll look forward to the next one 👍
RedRoseAngling Alex glad you enjoyed it mate, and thanks for the kind words, we will hopefully get to make some more this year when we get let out again ✌️ Kind regards Oz
!!! lovely times the excitement of a new pond....weedy and barbless hooks pressure on... angled 3 ponds like this had a couple of hook pulls between the 3 ponds major think tank went on... result...in turned point barbless hooks soft braid with buoyant hookbaits.....keeping the pressure on 100%.... great watch oz keep the lovely times come in ACE watch
First video I’ve watched of yours and I’m now subscribed!! No ego and no bulls+^t and what a belter of a fish to end it on!! A pleasure to watch. I’m also a Kent boy. Tonbridge. 🎣🎣
Oz H you’re welcome mate. It’s good for me as I’ve only been carp fishing for a year and when you watch these other videos you see them catching all the time and gives you false hope. Makes you wonder wtf you’re doing wrong but this video just confirmed that blanking happens and it can take a long time for that one fish. Will keep my eyes open for the next video! 👍🏻
The Joiners' keep it real mate, carp fishing was never meant to be easy, it’s a challenge and all about adapting and creating chances throughout the course of a trip be it 6 hours or six day’s. As long as you learn a bit from the experience enjoy it and build your watercraft all is good! Catch a few nice ones and relish the good times because there will be tricky periods and hard times... that’s what keeps it a challenge 👌 don’t believe all the hype and some of the nonsense that gets around on social media, most captures come from hard graft and sacrifice and it ain’t happening all the time ... do it for you and your own enjoyment and all will be good in your world mate ... see you on the bank sometime 👍
Oz H every days a school day as they say and my knowledge is getting better with every session. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? I try to keep it as simple as possible now but I was drawn into all the hype with rigs etc etc. Thanks for the words of encouragement mate, I really appreciate it! 👍🏻
G Badge Ha ha the moment one of my films gets overlayed with that sort of music will be the day I retire 🤦🏻♂️... and there I was thinking I still had the youthful looks 😂😂😂! Glad you enjoyed the film mate, hopefully more to come this year if we get let out soon ✌️stay safe mate ... kind regards Oz
There's a bloke called graham uses Ta fishing as his hash tag too totally awesome I think it is, anyway found you while searching for him. Quality video.
Nice to see a carp angler who doesnt feel he has to cast to the moon and back or fire out tons of loose feed and is willing to actually use his own brain
If I could advise you if I may next time you have a take what I tend to do is just keep the tension really hard on the fish with no drag so the line is always tight but yeah barbless are a pain plus the weed I feel for you.
Great vid as usual mate and 👌I'm fishing a small lake just starting on there yet to catch and 60 carp and apparently hard as,what advice would u give me, I've done well on hard small waters before ,its not that busy either or deep 5 acres 2half Upto around 5-7feet deep thanks David
Be interested to know if the first take you pulled out of was a sharpened hook?? I run a weedy lake and we have had excessive mouth damage increase in past 8yrs. We are now looking into hand sharpened hooks being one of the causes. Ronnie rigs are now banned as we found numbers of foul and double hooked fish in our netting’s.
Only just starting to watch this, hence late response. Glad you are taking things seriously, some [the minority I hope] fishermen only think about catching fish, not the fish's welfare. More needs to be done regarding these issues. Wishing you the very best with your venture.
What's the little trick where you burn the hair instead of using a boilie stop 3:13 ? Do you use a new rig when you have to re bait? I cant figure out how that works.. Great content btw!
The bait is threaded on using bait floss, similar to dental floss, which is inexpensive. You cut a length off and thread the bait onto it and then rather than tying on a boil stop, you can burn the floss to form its own stopper. Hope that helps
I no a lake in Bedfordshire full of black scaly mirrors it's on my bosses land it was a old clay extraction pit .iv had um to 43 lb but theres is bigger in there iv seen um

rlb navara cheers , Ha Ha yes especially on day ticket venues where they get fed regularly and consistently. I do have a laser pen to scare them off at times but not wise to use in films on a lake near Heathrow !!! The birds do tell you a lot of what is going on and as you saw in film ... the tufties feed in harmony with the carp a lot of the time 💁🏻♂️😊
