    Excited to see you guys push a new 7.3 vid! Sadly, I have a 97 OBS with the 7.3. Soo it doesn't apply to me😞

    And u are %100 right about trying to take your time when working on ya truck , i was replacing my driver side valve cover gasket and the glowplugs and while doing that i broke the heater core hose that has a wierd clip on it so i rigged it up with grey gasket maker and a hose clamp which works fine , but it bothers the hell out of me when im supposed to be fixing things not breaking em . anyway i like your videos thanks

    I did the same thing when I was putting my IC pipe back in, doh!! Thought about trying to superglue nipple back on but I think I'm just gonna wait for sensor to come in mail tomorrow lol.

    Thanks for this. Any reason not to connect the air line before mounting to bracket? Seems simpler to connect free handed but I might be missing the obvious.

    Change the intercooler pipe ok, but first take off map sensor up and out of the way. Lose one minute, or lose the sensor, your choice.

    okay so i went get a new map sensor for my truck changed it out and the truck still runs like crap it has a rough idle and very very low power. if you could help i would be very appreciative.

      Did the truck have a MAP sensor code? What codes are in the truck now? Check basic inputs - fuel pressure, oil pressure, codes, etc.

    I have a 00 7.3 6 position chip do you recommend adding a boost fooler to it? Thanks

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boost fooler would work in your application to keep you from having overboost codes. Your bottom end fueling is being done by the TS chip though so this maybe overkill.

      Your truck would be massively sluggish and your turbo won't spool up nearly as well.

    Hello Sir I have a 2001 Ford f350 Diesel 2DW 7.3 Diesel and when I click the live data on my scanner it shows Manifold absolute pressure sensor(Hz) 0 on red the number 0 but also reads on the section beloW reads.
    Manifold absolute pressure sensorKPA 11.64. any recomendations?

      I have the same truck, it sounds like you might have a boost leak. Try tightening up the boots where the spider connects to the two huge IC pipes as well as the two plenums that connect to the manifold. Don't go all muscle man on it cause you can bend them out of shape! But just go hand tight enough without putting serious effort into it, should be good. Also check the boots where the two IC pipes connect to front of engine on left and right side of fan. Lastly I would take a flash light and shine it on your firewall behind turbo and see if there is any excessive soot built up behind either pipe back there. If there is that means one of those pipes is loose, which is not a lot of fun to fix.

      @@manuelarcerivera8460 it's not hard to gain extra clearance when needing to work on or around the turbo.
      Loosen all the cab mount bolts and jack it up, 2 Jack's and wood blocks work nicely.
      My wife's 2000 F250 4wd has a 4" lift and 35" tires so when I had to replace the crossover hoses and valve cover gaskets I pulled out the batteries allowing me to remove the fender liners and front tires.
      I was able to stand on the ground and work on the engine, made things SO much easier.

    What kind of mpg would be reasonable for a 2001 7.3 on a dually, pulling a 5000lb box trailer. Say at 65-70mph.

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pulling a trailer and I don’t know the overall condition of your truck I would say to expect 9-11 mpg just to be on the safe side.

    What is the air filter thing you have by the spider?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know exactly what you saw there. The intercooler pipe has some heat shield on it, and the air filter on this truck is just a air filter attached to the turbo intake.

    Hey man I installed a 5 inch turbo back and I notice it sound almost like a cammed gasser. Like a chop chop sound to it. Can it be this sensor maybe gone bad ?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably not, you will want to check codes and those will usually lead you to a sensor that has gone bad. Scanning codes wont be a bad idea or a good first place to start. Just changing exhaust shouldn’t have effected anything UNLESS you missed the clamp on the downpipe and you have an exhaust leak.
