I have used this system for over 2 years with no issues. I currently am running 3 of them on multiable tanks. Great product.
I've had great success with this ATO. Used it on my DT before I got a controller and now it has moved to my Quarantine Tank. I definately recommend it and it is on the lower end as far as price
great video...went with the Hydor ATO, but this looks like an option in the future for new aquarium.
holy crap what good timing. i was just trying to explain ATO to someone and surprisingly i knew nothing of this product yet... might consider ditching the current ATO setup I have in exchange for this! please do a similar video on the AutoAqua Smart ATO - Auto Top Off System - thanks!
Another great vid. I love this ato because of the options and "tinkering" the company allows us to do, and expects us to do! It's almost like the folks at JBJ actually have reef tanks! :) Now if I can just figure out how to modify mine to let me know when the Guinness is getting low. Merry Christmas all! Ryan should come to my house and hand out HIS presents since half my gifts this year are all from BRS!

Question....I have an ato system and I'm wondering what area of the sump should the top water go? My sump has 3 compartments, Drain/sock filter, to refugium, and finally the return.Currently I have the float switch in the return area and the ato water going into the refugium.
I just set this up, set pump to max in reservoir under my tank, output is directly in tank and Not submerged. It seems the pump isn’t strong enough to pump to the tank. Water gets about halfway up the line. If I pull the line and lower it the water comes out, seems like it should be able to pump to the tank. I’ll have to set my reservoir next to my tank on a table now, not ideal. A little disappointed.
after having a little heart attack tonight with an overflow losing suction(running perfectly for almost a year now) i hooked up my jbj ato up to my return pump in mode 1 with the fill sensor in the tank to kill it if the water raised to high and the reservoir sensor in the sump to kill the pump if it got to low. basically if the overflow failed again. just hoping that the ato wont burn out or anything because it is basically on all the time now at least until i can remove the life in the tank to drill it for an overflow. fun stuff =/
Well thank you, one hick up in the plan is that the occasional on off from the float switches hopping caused my worthless hydor return pump to unscrew itself causing just a lil trickle of water to go out into the display and my sump was stewing at around 89 when i got home today from work. its back up sorta but just praying i have enough to purchase the items i need to drill and plumb my tank... joy oh joy to unexpected life expenses. Help I have an issue here, my sump consisting of 3 chambers: the first one is the algae refugium, then water passes from pvc to the next chamber where the filter sock is held, then an overflow to the third chamber where the return pump is. If the filter sock gets clogged the water level rises in the previous refugium chamber causing a flood! Can I use this ATO to prevent leaks in the refugium chamber if the filter sock getts clogged? I intend to connect it to the main return pump

Do not buy, some products have time control. 3/5/7 minutes automatically turn off.

can this be used on a sumpless tank?
Used one of these for over 8 years continuously. Never a problem in the sump and ultra reliable.
Only used a one float config and was perfect.
Could be older bought when first came out. Even had some logic. If it took too long to get to get to set point would stop automatically.
Would the water go stagnant in the reservoir
Not RO water.
