I was at this fork In the road .. I chose the yz450f, you can go on the tuner app and take power away// the Yamaha suspension is just wayyyyy better than Ktm
@@lhurst9550 and also i have a 2018 yz450f and a 2019 Ktm 450 …. And it’s not even close which bike I prefer to ride .. go on offer up (Temecula ca) and type in 2019 Ktm 450 and you will see my bike 😆⚰️ well untill it’s sold 😆
Personally, I would choose the Yamaha all day long. KTM is doing some amazing things with two strokes. The thing is there’s a lot of bugs that need to be worked out with sensors and computers. I am no good with that crap the Yamaha is also have the tuning app, but those are all right in the ECU paired with the CCU From your phone and that’s only for the four strokes I still choose Yamaha all day long
I was on 4t ktms from 07-22 when i switched to a 23 yz250x. At the same time I bought my son a 23 125xc. He has since bought his own 23 yz250f. Between those two bike I don’t think I’ll be going back to a ktm any time soon. I do miss a 4t from time to time so I have been eyeing up a 450fx. Hopefully Yamaha makes a 350f by the time I’m ready to buy another bike.
Comments below I said I would choose the Yamaha … and I still feel this way for the average rider .. but this is a cheat code build and was my plan for my Ktm 450…. Take the Ktm 450 and do the kyb spring conversion kit … get a custom ECU with different settings you can change on the fly…. And this bike would be great for someone racing or a more advanced rider …. But for the average squid 🦑 like me / yes the Yamaha is wider and a bit heavier but the frame is good and they turn so well.. especially with that infamous smooth throttle response from Yamaha where as KTM seems to have jerky power also Ktm 4 strokes almost always have electrical issues .. the Yamaha takes a beating and keeps going 😂… go with the Yamaha and you won’t regret it 😆⚰️🫡🇺🇸
Idk In my opinion for me best out of Crf/yzf/kxf/sxf was the kxf. Yzf was way more argesive on the power then the kxf, On the crf It felt like the bike was really heavy and hard to take corners, sxf was good but really overrated. Yzf was the closes to the kxf but yzf was way harder to control the power and I felt betton on the kxf.
Awesome channel and vid. I had to choose between these two bikes! Got the 350 2023. But feels it’s a bit too twitchy and flames out a lot. Looking to get vortex ecu due to your previous video! Do you know of these transferable? Meaning not tied to just one bike once tuned?
Thanks! Hmm… twitchy I’m not sure. Maybe check your suspension settings. Clicker settings, air pressure, sag, etc. Yes, the ECU can be transferred and retuned for your new bike unless they totally change the ecu of course.
@@JRideRR by twitchy I meant like snappy throttle. When I want to just feather the throttle, it seems impossible. I’m coming from BMW s1000rr and that bike has a very smooth throttle and power delivery. This KTM felt like I’m on my old Yamaha MT10.
@@DJJUSAMO Ahh got ya. It will get better but it’s still that way with the Vortex. I kinda forgot about it until making this video going back to the pits. The on/off throttle just isn’t smooth. Yamaha does a much better job in this area.
I guess I’m missing your point here. Both bikes can do it all. I’m not comparing a motocross bike to an enduro bike. They are both sold as cross country race bikes.

I agree the yamaha is a better bike, but the KTM has more aftermarket support.

I’ll be honest… I said I would pick the 350 but I keep loading up that YZ lately… 🤣

I know what I’d choose 💙
Yamaha all day every day

We can only hope Yamaha will make a 350. Sadly I don’t think it will ever happen. I hope I’m wrong. 🤣
Never going to happen

Any concerns with the transmissions on the YZ250F’s? Heard they weren’t terribly reliable.
I miss NFMX!
I don’t have any experience with the new 250F. No one I ride with has one yet either.

KTM is going broke, no brainer.
