Hey bro, I’ve got a rough hero concept for Ghost Rider and I wanted to know your thoughts: •Main attack is a sawed off shotgun that shoots fire, has a chance to cause on fire effect that causes damage over time. •Uses his iconic fire chain to pull in an enemy (Like the overwatch roadhog hook) and instantly sets them on fire. •Has penance stare. This is an ability which can be put on an enemy, and half of all damage the enemy has done since their last respawn eats at their healthbar over time. If the enemy is on fire, that damage gets applied faster. If they die from this ability they crumble into ash. (This way the more “guilty” an enemy is the more they get fucked up) •His passive ability regenerates health from dealing fire damage •When he uses his ultimate, he whistles and his iconic bike comes from overhead and drives forward (Similar to how overwatch kiriko ult works), knocking enemies drastically away and setting the area it drives past on fire (Like an overwatch torbjorn ult). This is heavily inspired by the first Ghost Rider film with Nicolas Cage and the abilities he demonstrated during said film. At the end he had a shotgun that could shoot fire, he has penance stare where he looks into someone’s soul and every bad deed they’ve ever done burns their soul, he has his chain that he wraps around enemies and incinerates them, and his bike would make anything it drove past explode.
Whoa! Firstly thank you SO much for the donation. Secondly, this is a really cool concept and I really hope to see Ghost Rider in the game too. I love the idea of the PENANCE STARE damaging an enemy based on how much damage they've dealt, like they're feeling the weight of the harm they've caused. Very clever! Thanks again and I'll see you on Dec 6th bro!
Rocket wasnt my fav hero in the beta because his gameplay wasnt my style of play but because of his survivalbility/mobility he could be a good option in certain situations. I think i will still specialize myself in playing Adam Warlock, Mantis and Loki. Hopefully they will add more Strategists in the future with fun gameplay loops.
Great guide, thanks! The nature of the beacon was always ambiguous to me, and I was very curious about his healing output, because at times I clearly saw that HPS was less than other healers, yet in some games I was outhealing other healer in our team by far, and it usually was when our team spent a lot of time grouped up, so that a single orb could heal most of the team multiple times.
Another cool thing with the healing orbs is that they slow down to a crawl, almost latching onto players needing healing as it flies past. And if you need heals, it's slows down immediately, as you fire it, healing you for a second on its way to your teammates. Good to shoot orbs at the ground or into a corner (if teammates are within reach), making the orbs last much longer than just popping off straight ahead.
I just started playing this game yesterday and I gravitated towards Rocket due to his playstyle, and this guide is super useful! Also, having played Paladins in the past, I did like playing as Pip, another small, furry healer with a big gun, haha.
Incredibly underrated character. He's an amazing asset for every kind of team composition; he's not going to carry the game alone, but he's utility is top notch. His "e" and his ulti are two of the best skills in the game, IMO (if used correctly, which isn't that easy), his healing is great for distant/flying characters and also for aoe situations ... Also Great sinergy with Bucky and Punisher. Great mobility and decent dps (with a good aim). Not hard to learn, but requires time and efforts to master. With his ability to climb and "fly" allows him to always have the best positioning and with that to be able to do a lot of work for his team, while requiring not that much attention or peel. Yeah, he's my main, if it wasn't clear enough :D.
Rocket is just an amazing character. Got to love his personality. Planning on playing Rocket and Mantis as my two mains. Would love to see an in depth guide for Mantis sometime please.
Played 4 games back to back with Rocket and I'm a huge fan. I didn't get many kills but I felt like a huge buff for the rest of the team. I'm older so keeping up in a crazy fight is tough but a healer that can spray is awesome.
Mostly good but Rocket doesn't actually get the buff from his team up with Winter Soldier and Punisher. He also shouldn't be staying in the air unless he's avoiding a melee character or making use of terrain because it makes him an easy target for any long ranged enemies compared to using his small hitbox to hide behind his team on the ground.
In my opinion if you have good compatibility with the player whos playing groot its so op. Multiple times I've 2v6'd with my friend who plays groot using rocket because we are quite literally an impenetrable wall. Using the heal orbs with rocket raccon, if you shoot one of them you heal groot even if your not aiming at him, and you heal yourself. This lets you aim at your teammates and heal both groot and yourself and whoever your aiming at, while taking less damage and groot blocking most of the bullets for you. It turns rocket from a healer who trys to avoid damage to a character that can make groot invincible from multiple enemies attacking at once.
These are straight up some of the best guides on how to play these characters I’ve seen. They’re straight to the point, informative, and have excellent strategy tips to improve your skill. Can’t wait for the next one! I’d be down to see either a Magneto guide or a Magik guide. Bring on the mutant madness!
One more tip from a Rocket main in regards to his movement. If you're trying to stall the payload to give your teammates time to come back, you can initiate a wall run on the payload and then immediately activate your jetpack and that will cause your jetpack to shoot you straight into the air. This goes for pretty much any wall, but is especially relevant when stalling. One more thing is like you said, is that Rocket doesn't have great burst healing but is super consistent. There were a couple clips in this video where you were firing the mini minigun while there was a teammate on screen at half health. You can charge up your Ult WAY faster by healing teammates rather than trying to deal damage. I usually use his awesome mobility to try and line up as many teammates as possible at all times to throw the healing orbs through. I usually end each round with 15k+ healing and 6-8 BRB Revives and 2 to 3 ults per round. Rocket is a BEAST of a character.
Happy to see my favorite guardian ain’t that bad to play. Maining him now and idc if the team cries being a “bad healer” bc I think his kit is strong with the right play
I find playing rocket more aggressive it's definitely viable, I think most sit at the back and heal bot with him his heals arent good enough to just sit there mindlessly, his movement allows him to get into the enemy backlines and place an aggressive beacon to revive allies behind enemy lines. With such long range heals you can happily throw some orbs back to your team while looking for a potential pick in the enemy backlines. He can also shred dps and supports with his gun especially when you walk up behind them when they're not expecting it, just caution on auto lock hero's (witch,CnD) I've managed to go into plat with this playstyle, noticed more and more spidermans the higher you go you're an easy pick sat on backlines go where the enemy least expects you to be

Those bouncing balls as primary healing feels sooo wierd in concept. But if it works, it works. But more surprising is that they made him a healer instead of an assault, he loves his guns after all.
So much fun driving backline killers nuts with Rocket. I trigger them to the point they can't think of anything else but getting revenge all match. Also, if you're near your reviver when they engage they know they need to kill that first so it buys more time to kill them before that happens.
Gravitated to rocket for his simplicity and upon checking if I'm missing anything big here glad to say I'm playing him more or less as needed LOL Nice call with giving armour at the start though, I somehow didn't think of that. I think my main improvement is trying to damage more but it feels like my team always needs healing so I don't really have time to practise
I don't know if its actually better or not, but I know that you can use your jetpack dash in the middle of a wall climb to go vertically really fast, and I'm almost certain that doing so even at the very base of a wall gets you more height than trying to fly up vertically from the ground. I found that hitting the dash as soon as the wall climb started felt better for getting height fast than both climbing the wall normally, or burning through both jetpack charges for height. That might be one of the first things I try out once we can play the game again.
Cool mobility trick I discovered by accident last night. Run up any surface and then hit your dash move to get a monster speed boost into the air. I did it off a rock by accident and shot across the area like a bullet! 😁 Seems like a pretty obvious move in hindsight though 😅
That wild west skin is DOPE Also, one thing I haven't seen anyone mention: if Rocket's beacon takes damage, it increases its cooldown even if you cancel it manually.
I really hope you make a Thor guide soon and thank you for all the guides so far they will definitely help me learn how to play everyone when the game comes out
As you say that rocket players don't touch the ground, personally, i prefer being in an area of which I can't be hit. I use my boosters to get out of certain areas and stay with my team. Always being in the air is helpful, but is only necessary for tough fights
This is a great guide, very straightforward and helpful. However, something very small. You kind of glanced over the device beacon’s power up drops, which is understandable because they’re a bonus rather than main function. But those power ups are great for picking up after a won team fight to get a slight advantage in the next one, and for allies that plan to dive, an extra 25 HP is surprisingly helpful.
After playing Rocket long enough to become Lord rank, I have some opinions on this guide. Overall it is very good, but I'm going to mention the things that aren't correct. 3:14 DO NOT DO THIS. Always stay behind teammates on the ground if possible. Floating in the air will get you killed by the enemy dps instantly. Also, his self healing is much easier if you have a floor to bounce the balls off of. If you're hovering and start getting shot at, drop the hover and figure it out from there. Never contest the skies, you will ALWAYS lose. 7:00 This was either removed in the beta or is just blatantly false. Only Punisher and Winter Soldier get infinite ammo. 7:30 Doing this will also get you killed. Groot is always in the front lines or directly in the enemy team walling off enemies. If you are constantly jumping on and off Groot, you're going to get obliterated. You need the damage reduction to survive in the front line, so if you can't survive while you're on Groot, jumping on and off him isn't going to save you either. If jumping on and off Groot is working, it means one of you isn't doing your job. 7:53 This is generally a good idea, but you should always try to dash into your teammates. Hopefully the assassin will start targeting your more vulnerable supports over you. This isn't just to throw your teammates under the bus, as your healing is twice as effective on allies as opposed to yourself. Usually your ally can survive if you heal them. Thank you for the guide! I'm going to keep watching your videos in the future.
Very straight-forward but useful guide, this is probably the best guide channel, for any game i know

This is really helpful to me, thank you so much!
Thanks for taking my suggestion on a Strategist guide!
HOOOOLY great content. Keep it comin friend
One tip I found is that if you dash WHILE wall running, you’ll super dash straight into the air
2:15 “Like the squirrel that you are..”
Rocket ->RACOON
Excellent video, down to the nitty gritty, clear diction, subbed!
Very informative and helpful...appreciate the video. Would love to see a Star-Lord video next
Rocket feels fantastic to play and has good heals, had one ranked game where I had 60k heals
That wild west skin is DOPE
Also, one thing I haven't seen anyone mention: if Rocket's beacon takes damage, it increases its cooldown even if you cancel it manually.
I really hope you make a Thor guide soon and thank you for all the guides so far they will definitely help me learn how to play everyone when the game comes out
I love Rocket so much in Marvel Rivals. He's my main
Rocket was going to be the first character I try when this came out, thanks for the tips and tricks owo/
Watching this on a plane to Florida!
I usually dont like healers, but rocket is so much fun im probably gonna main him
After playing Rocket long enough to become Lord rank, I have some opinions on this guide.
I love the rabbit, I always liked higher mobility support heroes and he have some much support value
I love playing Baptiste ….he looks like a very similar ….with the heal shoot toggling
Rocket is also super efficient like Ana to heal from really far away which is an advantage other healers do not have
Great guide, as always
Thanks for the tips. Always takes me a second to understand because I use a controller lol. Left click, right click, space bar 😂
Maybe this was mentioned and I missed it, but you can bounce those heals off the wall and heal yourself as well.
So if you can use that mobility to get away asap, heal yourself and you're basically immortal.
I would love to see a Luna snow or a Mantis guide next!
