@@drg8687 An apology in a courtroom is “to the court”. To restore decorum to the court the presiding judge may demand an apology of anyone allowed to be in the court. Under the threat of contempt of court charges. The area around a judge demanding a personal apology is outside my knowledge. However, American judges have god like power in their courtroom. Subject to a complaint or review by a superior (supreme) court. An attorney presenting before the court must be VERY careful in any remarks made to the court. It is walking the razor’s edge in that situation. Best to make an objection, have the record made, then bring it up on appeal. In many instances an objection may not be practical.

This assistant prosecutor needs to find another job... Each time I've watched her, she's been completely unable to separate her personal emotions from her duties as a prosecutor. She's proved time & time again that she lacks decorum as is witnessed by her immature, unprofessional, disrespectful behavior. She doesn't appear to understand her role as an assistant prosecutor in a professional forum. Her attitude is brazen, to say the least, and neither tax payers, or other judiciary personnel/representatives, whether in-house or private, should have to wait until she's 'schooled' in law 101 & elementary decency as a human being, as well as a professional assistant prosecutor in a courtroom. She reflects poorly on the prosecutors office. Nothing, relative to this case, has been addressed. Rather, each breath, along with each minute, has 'centered' around her in one way or another. There are way too many instances thus far where she clearly needed to be placed in contempt & fined consecutively for her 'inappropriate behavior'... And if deemed necessary, the court should issue actual time after a predetermined number of fines have been ordered. Like a child, she needs to 'learn' that her inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and sadly, this court needs to turn the attention she receives for her negative behavior to undesireable consequences, or this court will never receive the respect that really, should never be an issue to begin with.

Judges under no circumstances may yell or berate anyone in the courtroom. Judges ought to understand that they do not make the rules; judges have a statewide body of cannon that they must follow. Judges ought to be taught that it is not their courtroom; it's the people's, and they are simply stewards to an office. Unfortunately, in this state we have a very feeble system to remove bad judges who refuse to get it. That's why many just don't care and openly disregard the rules.

Does members of the press have carte blanche to make this kind of recording?

It's one thing to say that the Prosecutor pushed too far but to call her ghetto and other names is over the top. Especially when some of the people on here, most likely didn't get past the 9th grade. In addition, saying she should be disbarred is asinine. If that is the case many lawyers would have been disbarred black, white or otherwise. SMH
