Hey Trenton, when I first saw the video I thought you were standing between 6 ft snow banks but realized what they were. A farmer's work is never done. I know the girls appreciate it. Ya'll stay warm and see-ya in the next. Old Hickory, Tn. 🇺🇸
Right on TF! My next career will be as a “post-caster” where I will tell you what the weather was at your location yesterday and I will always be right!! 😂
Excellent video Trenton! Glad you're keeping your sense of humor as the weather turns to the dark side. Lovely show calf for you. Best of luck at Fair time. Best wishes for 2023 for you and your family. Thanks for all the videos this past year. Lots of valuable lessons I've learned.
Another good video Trenton and your good looking calf is a good sturdy looking calf. Got to say I don't miss feeding livestock at this time of year in the snow and cold, its about the only good part of retirement. Not sure if your aware but Ryan (Teenage Farmer) on YT gave you a shout out the other day. Its good to see all you young guys sticking together.
Trenton, I weant to wish you and your family a very Happry, Healthy, & Successful 2023. I also want to thank you for the past 12 months of of interesting, intertaining, & informative vlogs with excellent filming, editing, & commentary. Well done 🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜🚜
I live just outside of Philadelphia, PA and if the coldness broke a record here, it must have been awful for Trenton and his herd. It was scary cold with high wind. The thought of going outside during that weather could take your breath away. You are a hunk, Trenton. Thanks for this video.
That is what we built this past fall is a heated shop, not sure the size but 2 combines fit side by side and 4 tractors can fit as well with plenty of working space. having now 2 farms on we inherited that is 400 miles away , we tryed farming that 2 different ways but each had issues so i found in Arazona a farmer who grew grass seed and had 7 combines the same as what we use. they are older but have low hours and did gentle work. now we have 8 combines so our plan is to move 4 to the south farm 400 miles away and have 2 work crews of our family that works on our hog farm having 18 men and boys that can operate most farm equipment, so maybe this year we won't get cheated by hired people down south. having the heated shop we are checking over and getting ready all equopment.
We used to put a big square bale into our spare box spreader to bed the freestall barn and pens. Oat straw. Did a good job of spreading it out nice and even. Keeping nice fresh bedding for the milking herd sure does make milking a lot more pleasant!! We milked in a tie stall barn, so filthy cows sucked!! There's always that one cow though... If there's a pile of shit anywhere around, she'll find it- and lay down in it, even when she's surrounded by fresh bedding... We kept curry combs handy in the winter months.
Extreme weather like this only makes an already tough job even more challenging,, and you guys will tough it out. Happy New Year to you and your family. 👍💪
When I was younger back in 1978 and '79 especially in '79 we had 6 ft of snow no one could go anywhere and it was hell trying to feed stairs in that kind of weather just like you're having there we had to scoop snow away from the fences so the stairs couldn't get over the fence and then we had trouble with no electricity no generator and we still had to feed the stairs so the guy I worked for called electric company and here it was a transformer just down the road that blew up they fixed the transformer and we had electricity and that was one hell of a winter
Yep, the weather man is the only person who can be wrong all the time and still keep his job 😂🤣🤦🤦.
Did you know the weather folk are in cahoots with the grocery stores! 😁

👍 Good productive use of a ‘snow day.’ Demonstrates what sets a farmer well above other people regarding solid work ethics.
