My first motorcycle aged 14 was a 1955 James Comet with plunger suspension and the later villiers engine, which still had two speed hand change. I paid £2.10 shillings for it and had some great fun learning to ride it. I later passed my test on a 150cc James Cadet and I wouldnt mind getting either one again now, great little bikes. 👍😊
What do you mean? The comet was and still is a good bike. And the industry hasn't disappeared. Triumph still makes bikes, classic brands like BSA and Royal Enfield have made a return. Don't judge a classic bike by modern standards
My buddy in Victoria British Columbia had a James pretty much exactly like this. Extremely rare in these parts!

Awesome 😳
Any wonder why the British motorcycle industry disappeared…..
It disappeared because after WW2 people became richer and could afford cheap cars like the Mini.
