KL is my favourite city that I have seen with Bangkok a close second. KL is very diverse with different cultures and food. I agree that Eco Forest was a bit of a rip off and I would have gone to Perdana Botanical Gardens. Thien Hou Temple at sunset is amazing. Wiliyah Masjisd is beautiful but so is KL National Masjid and Jamek Masjid especially at night. Bukit Bitang is lively at night and loved it myself. Batu Caves was OK but crazy monkeys and yes litter problems. Obviously the main attraction is Petronas Towers and the fountain show at night in KLCC Park. One major advantage of Malaysia is English Proficiency relative to other SE Asia countries with the exception of Philippines and Singapore
One more important aspect you guys missed out, where English is a widely spoken language in Malaysia, so there is no language barrier when you're in Malaysia. Enjoy your stay!

Hopefully both of you will stay longer to experience Ramadhan here. Ramadhan is a holy month which will be celebrated by Muslims all around the world. In Malaysia, they will fast - starting on 23.3.2023 until 22.4.2023. All mosques will be extremely crowded at night (in a good way) with people congregationally breaking fast at dawn and doing prayers. Most eateries will be closed during the day. Things to try in Ramadhan: try to fast like a local, visit Ramadhan bazaar in the evening (A must! It's like a food festival), join an iftaar event, celebrate hari raya with the locals on 23.4.2024, light up some fireworks and firecrackers with the villagers, bake raya cookies, collect raya money and attend open houses (starting on 23.4.2024). On the last few days of Ramadhan (22.4.2023), the big cities will be empty as the residents will go back to their hometown to celebrate Hari Raya. You will watch news about super long traffic jam from KL to the north and east coast side. Do not drive to the northern or eastern part during this time as the traffic will be extremely and terrifically bad. All flights/bus/train tickets will be sold out too.
The amazing thing about Ramadhan in Malaysia is that things don’t get shut down! People go to work, to school, and just carry on , unlike many countries where things either slow down or stop.
Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur where you can meet with. Japanese, Korean, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, China, European, African, Arabic, Russian and lot more other race at the same place without traveling.
Nasi Lemak with fried chicken price at RM20, it is scammed. Suggest you to visit Merdeka Square, Central Market & Petaling Street. If you have more time, explore more to Malacca. Just 1h drive from Kuala Lumpur. Cheers from KL~
Look at the size of the chicken breast at 16:10 ,amount of proteins in the nasi lemak…the container was fulled up to brim, Also the location they bought the Nasi Lemak…it is Jalan Alor, right in the city centre. I think it was a fair price.
KL is quiet because we don't use our car horns even in a massive traffic jam unless for emergency. Unlike Jakarta, Manila or Bangkok where the traffic can be very loud with car horns that adds to the chaos and tension.
Hi guys... Malaysia has manyyyyyy foreign workers working in restaurants, also free to roam and enjoy our cities. Most of us Malaysians can communicate well in English, so yeah, just wanting to let you know that some you have seen or met may not be locals... Enjoyyy Malaysia!

Hi from Kuala Lumpur. I appreciate your accurate observations about Kuala Lumpur. I've noticed that some costs, particularly those for food, are rather high, especially when compared to local salaries. When compared to before Covid, prices have significantly increased. However, Malaysia is a truly Asian country with multiple ports. Thus, please visit Malaysia if you don't have enough time to experience the flavours of all the Asian countries. You would feel that you're in a small potion of India after visiting the Little India in Brickfield, or in China at the Chinatown, in Indonesia at Malay Kampong Baru, in the Phillipine in the Kota Raya, in the Middle East countries at Arab Street, Ain Arabia, or in Japan at the Mont Kiara, you may feel as though you are there. There are also a few small Bangladeshi communities scattered throughout the city, a small Korean community in Ampang, and a small European community in Bangsar. Of course, KL also offers a wide range of food as well, including dishes from all the Malaysian states as well as regional and international cuisine. Because each ethnic group in Malaysia, including the Chinese, Indians, and Malays, still follows its own culinary traditions, we have a wide variety of food. Exparts' restaurants also serve the food of other Asian ethnic groups, such as the Japanese, Koreans, Arabs, Thais, Indonesians, Myanmarese, Bangladeshis, Nepalis, Vietnamese, and many others. We hope your time in Malaysia is enjoyable for you both.
Same here in the USA. It seems to be a Worldwide thing. For whatever reason, restaurants and businesses have raised their prices way too much; and some people think it's because of the cost of transportation (Gasoline) which raised the Cost of foods and other items; Since they have to be transported.

man watching this video is making me want to go back to KL already even though I was there just less than a year ago haha! KL and Buenos Aires are my two favourite places to stay in long term as a digital nomad. I'm in Rio at the moment though.
It's a BIG spoon, because it is the serving spoon :P. It's a big portion because it is supposed to be for sharing, and you're supposed to use the big spoon to scoop some of it onto your own plate.
It's a matter of lifestyle, if you like a more laidback and relaxing lifestyle Malaysia is for you. Singapore is a city state with limited space, and it's is kind of rigid. I prefer Malaysia because I can always just go to the mountains, islands or beaches to relax without actually leaving the country.
My best friend is a police officer in Singapore. She told me past midnight especially on weekend, all hell break loose! She had to eat more to be bulky so she can confront those crazy people! In fact if you compare percentage of population and crime, Malaysia is safer!

Welcome to Malaysia! Great vlog that highlights the beauty of Malaysia which is the diversity of cultures. Really looking forward for new videos regarding your experience in Malaysia. Btw, that nasi lemak is just too expensive! RM20 for a nasi lemak with a piece of chicken? You'll get better price at Nasi Lemak Wanjo in Kampung Bharu. Plus, there's a lot of food options there. My opinion, try asking the locals for their go to eating spots, this way you'll experience Malaysia like the locals! And trust me, there's more to explore with the foods. It never ends because it's a mix of many cultures. Plus, you haven't travel to other states yet where you can get the best Kampung (village) vibes and dishes which offers more food options hahahahahaha
"Absolutely love your journey videos! 🌍 Watching from beautiful Namibia and wishing for the day when I can join you on one of your adventures. Keep the amazing content coming! 🚀✈️"
First of all, I thought Ryan Serhant (Million Dollar Listing New York) is coming to Malaysia! Sumner, you almost look like him. Hahaha. Jalan Alor (for food) and Petaling Street (for shopping) are popular among tourist but not Malaysians. Although those places offer variety of food and goods, but the price is totally over charge and unreasonable. For example Nasi Lemak with chicken is never more than RM10 at local stalls. I suggest you go to Kampung Baru for malay food, Brickfields for Indian food and Petaling Street for chinese food. You will see more authentic local food there. On top of that, don't forget our Burger Ramly. I know you guys from US, but our burger is second to none! 😅 Enjoy your days ahead in Malaysia. (done subscribed!)
Yes, they are! We were very surprised about that haha And you will love KL for sure!! Check our this video on the TOP 5 things to do we recommend: th-cam.com/video/48z6hRLiRuk/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugzq2hE6b8DnChcrZnt4AaABAg
thanks for the great content! i'm actually going to Kl in a few weeks. was wondeing if you could share the link to the airbnb that you were staying? it looked amazing
Jalan Alor is great for tourists as you are not earning in Ringgit lol. But yes, its overhyped personally in my opinion, but good for a first visit. Plenty of other decent places to dine at for authentic Melayu/Malay food, Nyonya, East Malaysian or local Indian cuisine. Also take note if you are a Muslim tourist that most stalls in Jalan Alor is NOT halal.
15:43 You can easily get nasi lemak with fried chicken at other places at well below RM10. On average, food prices at Jalan Alor are about 100% higher than other average areas, probably due to the high rental costs.
selamat datang ke Malaysia (welcome to Malaysia) 🤗 perhaps can start travelling to Whole states in Peninsular Malaysia (from north to south) and to Borneo (sabah & sarawak) as well
Must try local cheap option -: Kg Baru - Nasi lemak wanjo, ramly burger special - street stall burger, Roti canai+teh tarik / maggie goreng (fried maggie) - any mamak
I would suggest making local friends who can take you around the food places so they can advice you on what to order and also prevent you from being scammed
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Hope both of you have a wonderful and great experience here. RM20 for that nasi lemak with fried chicken.? I think that is way too over price.
Yes .. Malaysia is very underrated compare to what it actually offers .. amazing country .. much different from asian stereotype for a country .. truly Asia !! Love from Pakistan

I have a question. I have a 20 day vacation and I want to visit both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. How many days should I spend in each of those cities? Should I spend 10 days in each City or should I spend more time in one city in less time in the other? Also what is the best mode of transportation to go from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and then back?
It is cheaper to take Grab for 2 persons and more compared to the express train. The most economic way is to take airport express bus to major station like KL Sentral.
@@MeyyCat > I used to frequent KL on solo trips…so for me, I always take the KLIA Express. Also, my hotels or apartments are usually nearby the train or LRT stn. I take Grab only if I know the traffic isn’t bad or the destination is not accessible by train or LRT.

I'm going to Kuala Lumpur soon and this video was so informative! Love your guy's energy. You've earned a new subscriber :)
So happy to hear that 🥰 Thanks for sharing - wishing you an amazing trip!!
Not another dull traveling vlog
Did you say that the Petronas Towers are "infamous"? Why?
Enjoy your days ahead in Malaysia. (done subscribed!)
Petaling Street used to be for locals but not anymore 😅
@@mnbr6884 Petaling st is more like bangla st..
@@azlirazli7500 I meant the prices
Not a slightest glimpse of Ryan Serhant
Planning to visit KL, looks like a lot of places are free to get in for sight seeing unlike Thailand.
Tq for promoting Msia. Have an enjoyable tour.
Thank you too!
thanks for the great content! i'm actually going to Kl in a few weeks. was wondeing if you could share the link to the airbnb that you were staying? it looked amazing
U think malaysia is back dated is already grown long time ago u should visit putrajaya mosque
What I can say, Jalan Alor doesn't offer authentic Malaysian food, and it is pricey because its more to touristy side... 🙂😉
On average, food prices at Jalan Alor are about 100% higher than other average areas, probably due to the high rental costs.
selamat datang ke Malaysia (welcome to Malaysia) 🤗
perhaps can start travelling to Whole states in Peninsular Malaysia (from north to south) and to Borneo (sabah & sarawak) as well
I intending to visit KL in August this year, is there any advice to go and stay also about transportation, how to get to the location. Thanks...
U should avoid jalan alor. Super expensive food price over there.
Must try local cheap option -: Kg Baru - Nasi lemak wanjo, ramly burger special - street stall burger, Roti canai+teh tarik / maggie goreng (fried maggie) - any mamak
I hope u happy in KL..welcome to Malaysia guys..🤟👍👍👍
You guys can visit Putrajaya.
KL is the next future city of Asia, perfect business hub too.
Great video. Amazing city. Please get a Rode or DJI microphone.
I would suggest making local friends who can take you around the food places so they can advice you on what to order and also prevent you from being scammed
Kuala Lumpur then Phuket is exactly what we are doing next week. Can't wait.
Have a wonderful trip!
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Hope both of you have a wonderful and great experience here. RM20 for that nasi lemak with fried chicken.? I think that is way too over price.
No shocker when the food bought from Jalan Alor.
Yup, definitely a tourist price😂
Yes .. Malaysia is very underrated compare to what it actually offers .. amazing country .. much different from asian stereotype for a country .. truly Asia !! Love from Pakistan
You should try nasi lemak wanjo at kampung baru famous nasi lemak in KL
U should go to Kampung Baru & try the nasi lemak & for that price u can have chicken, beef & some seafood as well.🤩
Coming here beginning of February for 2 days . Staying at shangri-la hotel , can't wait to visit these places and try Malaysian food
You'll LOVE it!!
Of course it is worth visiting KL. I live outskirt of KL, everytime I go there I myself was fascinated.
Trully indeed...I missed KL staying there for 35 years...now I have moved to BP Johore. But once in a while I will catch a bus to KL..and stays at my brother's condo...fuuh

You Guys watered my mouth eating that delicious food; I am from DR and the food is very similar to what my mother used to Cook at home; So I think that I will like it; and thanks for mentioning that is good for expats and people who want to Stay longer, because I intent too. Great Video Guys.
Absolutely! We also ended up visiting Johor Malaysia and really liked it too. Both are super livable! Hope to get to visit DR one day also :)
@@HobartsAbroad Thanks for mentioning Johor Malaysia, I will probably visit. My trip is Next Week and I am So Excited!!! I am not in the DR right now, but I highly recommend Punta Cana, but I do Not recommend Santo Domingo; is Not as nice of a City as it was more than 30 Years ago; not much progress being made there; and Not Clean. Punta Cana is a better place for Visitors. I am in Seattle, WA, USA and the cold weather has been pretty brutal on me!!
@@HobartsAbroad Were you guys Asked how long you were Staying in Malaysia at the Custom Border when You entered on your Arrival?? I would like to know, if You don't mind; I am Not Sure if they Request a Round Trip or a Return Flight Ticket; my intention was to Buy it while I was there.
It is hilarious to see random strangers making a gesture inside your video 😄😄😄
I have a question. I have a 20 day vacation and I want to visit both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. How many days should I spend in each of those cities? Should I spend 10 days in each City or should I spend more time in one city in less time in the other?
Also what is the best mode of transportation to go from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and then back?
For Nasi Lemak, best go to Restaurant Wanjo in Kampung Baru. You shouldn't pay more than RM10 for what you had at Jalan Alor.
You should have taken the KLIA Express from KLIA to city (KL Sentral)…from there, it’s a short Grab ride (actually cheaper than taking taxis)
Great photos!
Wow kula lumpur city very beutiful.. modern city.. love from tajikistan
I hope You like being in Malaysia..in Malaysia there are many workers from foreigh countries..i hope you really know people Malaysian locals.. especially Malay Chinese Indian.. because Malaysian locals are full of polite manners... respect and respect especially women and children..shy to ask local people... Don't forget to visit Malacca...in Malacca cost of living is the cheapest compared to other state in Malaysia.. Malacca is also modern and peaceful country..if you Don't know it.. then you Don't love it okay.. thanks you very much..i hope Malaysia is your second home choice or just stay in Malaysia..🙏🙏🙏🌾🌾🌾🇲🇾🇵🇸✌️🥰
Would you compare it to Singapore as it looks very similar, also with the train system, is the Wise card accepted?
The city itself is quite different from Singapore in our opinion but the people are similar and all very nice! Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the Wise card and we did not use the train system while there :/
yes wise are accepted here.. most of shop are using cashless. they accepted apple pay as well
Next time go to East Malaysia... Call Kota Kinabalu
Wow. Hell of a video maker. Very cinematic. You guys deserve hundreds of thousands of subscribers!
The nasi lemak is to expensive normally at roadside stall it only cost u around 10 ringgit for chicken that big.
Welcome to Malaysia guys! Yes, you are open minded. You and other tourists should visit the Masjid Masjid in Malaysia also, apart from the Batu caves and Budhha Temple. Yes, Malaysia is a Muslim Majority Country.
Putrajaya Pink Masjid is the best !
As a Malaysian..the reason why i dont like Batu Caves because they can't keep clean this beautiful of nature..and some hindus they dont border how to keep clean as tourism spot..and i really hated this kind of behaviours..BTW..you guys must visit to KL ECO PARK near KL TOWER..and Botanical Garden in TASIK PERDANA KL..where you can go to visit THE WORLDS LARGEST BIRDS PARK..
Rainforest not landscape flower pot that you can control they naturally grow hehe..if RM40 is expensive then please grow back rainforest if you can
clear sound n video.. superb editing... great n honest content.. bravo
Where's the video link where you ate Scorpian?
Thanks
Fair review overall, thanks
how are the drone regulations there? did you have any issues?
Welcome to malaysia guys
I m as Malaysian very disappointed with the management.of Batu Caves. They should take any negative comment from the visitor.on the cleanliness.I had visited once and agree with the level of cleanliness.of Batu Caves.Hope tourism of Malaysia do something on it as well as this will reflectes the image of Malaysia.Anyway thanks for all the compliments and hope you enjoy yr stay.
Actually this year batu caves is cleaner during thaipusam and after than yesteryear, there is a group of volunteer called clean thaipusam doing the rubbish collection there.
You Guys are a beautiful Couple and Speak So Clearly; Thanks for the Video; I am Supposed to Go there the end of this month; but I don't think we can visit those Sites because it will be raining a Lot, but I didn't know until after I bought the flights and Rented the Airbnb, after the fact, that's when I learned that it will be the Monsoon Season; which is the raining Season. I guess that I will not be able to enjoy many of the site; maybe the Mall and that's it. But the place looks beautiful. Thanks for this video; you guys explain things as well as you can; pretty Clear.
It's monsoon season now in Malaysia, but I think we are at the end of it, and on end of March the east coast islands will be fully open. The rain here is unpredictable, like 3 days ago we had heavy rain but yesterday and tod it was sunny all day. And it may rain tomorrow or not, usually we expect rain in the afternoon after 3pm for a few minutes up to an hour. Btw, we usually have a hot spell during Ramadan, this year it is at the end of this month
Dont let the weather bother u or spoil ur plans. It usually rains in the late after or early evening.
Besides, you can try our multicutural food for breakfast or lunch at many other places, nit just at Jln Alor. READ THE OTHER REPLIES HERE.
WELCOME TO MALAYSIA. HOPU U HAVE A GRT TIME HERE.
Do visit the other states as well if u have the time. U will not be disappointed. Besides the Malays, Chinese n Indians, we also hv various aboriginal tribes (especially in East Malaysia - Sabah n Sarawak).... Do visit them n savour thy cuisine n culture.
Please help. We want to come to Malaysia for the first time. When it the best time to visit? Not high season but also not raining season_Monsoon. August or October?? Need to start looking at booking flights. Thank you. Love from Cape town
@@marilisetheron4491 from March to October... but there will still be showers in the afternoon. but not to worry its usually a couple of hours in the afternoon... i usually went out early in the morning, and will be back to my home by 2pm then went out again in the evening at about 7/8pm ...
@@marilisetheron4491 august should be ok, you can experience merdeka (independence) day on the 31st and Malaysia day on 16 September.... and there are not many holidays (public/school) during that month...
Great shots, excellent editing, lively narration...of the most multicultural city in the world...
Do more research on food or get a food guide. Better to go to wanjo at kampung baru for nasi lemak.
Welcome guys to KL MALAYSIA.
I am a Malaysian that loves to eat, the next time you visit, you should try Ramly Burger, Nasi Kukus, Satay, Rendang, Bak Kut Teh, Sup Ekor, Roti Canai, Curry Fish head and some of our various Kuih, there are all kinds of food here and the longer you stay, the more you can find.
