- Our first Impressions of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 2024!
This week we take a short city break to a brand new country for both of us, Malaysia!! We are so excited to tick of a new country of the travel list and Kuala Lumpur did not disappoint!
We may have stayed in the best hotel we've ever stayed in! The Swimming pool view was unreal!
We also explored Kuala Lumpur tourist places on a FREE walking tour around the city including Petronas Towers and Petaling Street.
We visited the worlds most colourful steps at Batu Caves and randomly found a rollercoaster in one of the many shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur City!

We are Lottie and Tom a travelling couple from the UK!
In November 2023 we left our London lives to take on a Digital Nomad Lifestyle whilst travelling Asia!
Tom works for a fully remote Digital Marketing Company whilst Lottie quit her full time Manger job in the hair industry to kick start her new Online Yoga career!

KL has many interesting shopping malls; this is only a small part, and Airbnb in KL is also the best and cheaper than other developed countries.

Merdeka 118 (second tallest building) is not 100% complete, its still being fitted out with tenants. They've been testing the lights for a good year now, but soon it will light up better than the burj khalifa.

Visit east coast to experience the real traditional malaysian customs and stunning yet magnificient nature

@@Lottieandtom.travelsure, so basically, the best time to visit the east coast between March to October. Few suggestion for travel guide as below
1. Small Perhentian Island, coral bay side for a stunning sunset and long beach side for a lively nightlife.
2. Redang Island, the best family resort with its sandbank, snorkeling/diving with sea turtle and white sand beaches
Alot of other islands worth to visit such as tioman island, besar island, lang tengah island and many more.
But, if you're looking for something alot more, you may go to Langkawi island in which you will get a full complete of the above plus alot alot more. Happy holiday peeps

A little bit of history tip, not with intention whatsoever, Dutch and Portuguese didn't reside in any part of Kuala Lumpur since this area wasn't founded until later in 19th century. Naval battles constantly happened along the coastline of Selangor and Perak between the conquistadors and our soldiers.
Anyhow, welcome to Malaysia and do come again in the future 🇲🇾
The Dutch and Portuguese were only in Malacca ( Melaka) which is almost 200 km from KL. KL do not exist yet.

During those early days, there are no nation call Malaysia. But it was Malacca which is known and consist not just what malacca is today. Those day Malacca is included most of the peninsular and also some part of Sumatra. So what the history told Portuguese conquer Malacca actually is half true of they colonised the half of ancient Malaysia.

1. So we use an E-Sim, we find it so much easier and more convenient plus its better for the environment :)
