Coming back here after the announcement of E3 ending. Sure, later years were a mess, but I am going to miss these convention floors. At least we have PAX, which is more open to the public.
I can’t believe this made it onto the internet. I remember hearing about E3 back in the 90s and it felt like some made up, fantasy thing where all the magic of video games gathered once a year. But nope, it was real. Here’s the proof. I know people kind of turned on E3 as the years went on but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it. What we have in its place just doesn’t feel the same. Long live E3. You were special.
Is me I,m back but you no now I see the game systems I can get now and is not sony or Sega any more in the end I see the gen that for and is not mine is kids and gen y and gen m that y Sega r doing dark and kid movies like Sony and not really doing game systems or arcade any more by by Sega your with that dark Sony now your dead😭😭😭😡😡
I read about this show jealously when Game Fan reported it back...I devoured that issue! This really was the Golden Age. Sega, Nintendo, Sony...everyone was at the top of their game!
so many many many hours spent on that first level playing on the tilting bridge, surfing on the turtle shell, and seeing how long i can stay airborne with the wing-cap.
6:13, That is my favorite part. Since the Windows -based Nintendo 64 SDK was launched in 1996 before the launch of the games (developed by using the Windows Based N64 SDK) for Nintendo 64 starting in 1998 such as Banjo-Kazooie.
Goosebumps and cold shivers from all of this. I weren't there, i was busy being a 7 year old kid, but my dad brought home a PS1, and a heap of pictures, videos. Such great times, dude. I especially remember the jumping flash and the namco tekken panels. He brought me Tekken, and i couldn't wait for Tekken 2. So many great games followed... Thanks dad. He's Aussie, but at the time was working in LA, while we lived in Budapest, Hungary. Nostalgia pls, fuck off.
I first experience playstation back around 95-96 when my cousins were playing Street Fighter Alpha and Xtreme Games. I was so blown away because 3D graphics were new at that time and the thought of playing on a CD was also a new concept. So I went back at home and thought maybe I can play my mom's Madonna CD's as a game, lol.
8:28 I wonder how that persons felt when he heard sonic xtreme got canceled or how he is one of the only people that got to play that build people will die for
Aside from the actual story of Sonic Xtreme, i think if i was Sega at this E3 seeing Mario 64 and looking at even the video for Sonic Xtreme, vs an actual playable game of Mario 64, i would just throw Sonic Xtreme in the bin and start again. It is amazing to look at this E3 though, as a consumer looking around you wouldn't have guessed Playstation would be the absolute standout winner of this war. All 3 look pretty evenly matched.
Ah, what ancient footage indeed. As a longtime Kirby fan though, what really interests me here is the footage of Kirby's Air Ride 64 that was recently brought to the attention of Kirby Informer. Who knew that this version of the game directly reused music from Kirby Super Star?
The Kirby game shown is actually Kirby Air Ride before they finally released it on Gamecube, yup at the very beginning of the N64 unveiling back in 1996 the game was in production altough it was only a beta.I wonder how the game would had looked if they finished it in time and released it on N64 ?
What was that Kirby game near the beginning?? I don't recognize it at all! Also, I love the kid that freaks the hell out at 6:02 because of the Bob-Omb lol

Nice catch. A lot of wrestling theme songs were originally stock music used elsewhere. Harlem Heat, Hardcore Holly, Hardy Boyz all come to mind....Steve Blackman's first theme for sure.....
Darren Michaelsen, me too. The all way SGI model modification of Super Mario 64 will be better in 256-bit pure graphics on the Super Mario 64 to be included in Super Mario 3D All Stars for Nintendo Switch coming in 2021.
