I think the pottery was there to play off the puzzles inside the building. Because of the reflected movements of the dual lines they often ended up forming similar looking images to the pots. Also great video and I'm enjoying the let's play so far :)
7:10 It's that puzzle on the ground! You solved it one way, what happens if you solved the other! You've already found out that solving a puzzle to a different end, could lead to unlocking a different object way back in the very first area! Go back and finish that puzzle!
Hey Keith! Just wanted to say that I was planning on watching the first episode to get a feel for if I would like to buy the game. However, I must say that I'm really enjoying watching you solve the puzzles and I think I'm just going to stick to watching your play through. I've subbed and look forward to the next chapter of the journey. Thanks for the vids!
The Witness completely warped my brain into Oblivion - and then it kept throwing even more crazy puzzles at me. It was insane! The FOV could stand to be adjustable though, as it gave me a lot of motion sickness but I really wanted to keep playing.
watching thru this older series because you mentioned it in the randomiser videos and i want to watch this one first. I'm curious when in this old playthrough you first notice one of the environment line thingys, those blew my mind. Off I go to episode 3!
Dude, you amazed me at the part with the invisible yellow line. That was great, subbed to you at part 1. Do you mess with 3D stuff a lot, hence the symmetry?
+Alan Duking Zeng (Alan377) I've always had a decent capacity for translating between 2D and 3D, rotating, reflecting, shifting perspective, etc. When I was studying geology I rose to the top and stayed there whenever we were out on a mapping trip.
"I feel clever!" LOL I just now started playing this game last night (super late to the party, but my backlog is enormous) and I felt the same way! I refuse to look up solutions to any of these puzzles and WILL solve them all on my own! Some of them have definitely been pretty damn difficult so far but the answer is always SOMEWHERE to be found.
This game is absolutely beautiful! 👍🏻😄 I can't imagine trying to come up with a full-length game such as this one. Break my brain. Oh no! The black monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. 8:23 Turns out said monolith put in place to be basically a recording device to relay info back to creators of monolith so they'll know what to do with beings being recorded.
Hey Keith. I'm New to your channel. Nice work mate. I I found your walkthrough as I was looking for help with the part that you mentioned at 16:35. Have you solved it?
+Stephen Cruickshank I'm guessing that too, because way back in one of the very first puzzles you do in the game, it brings up that completing a puzzle to a different end gate, can activate something different. I don't think he went to explore that part of the secret yet, but it does bring up that it CAN happen. Don't forget ANYTHING the game does! If you see a puzzle unlocking something different, it means ANY puzzle could have that as a secret!
I wonder how many OCD viewers were talking back to their screens about moves you could have made, as if you could literally hear them? Or the ones who give solutions in the comments AFTER you solve it?
"I AM LITERALLY YELLING AT THE SCREEN" is the single most common comment on this channel. I'm hoping it's not actually literal because they may need psychiatric evaluation.
HOLY SHIT after watching this I just made such an obvious connection between the pottery and a future puzzle! God I'm an idiot! Or I'm crazy and just making it up.
remember that sheet you found the one you said looked like a print out? Have you tried interacting with it? I wonder what would happen if you try tracing the line like you would a puzzle? Just curious. Also, there was something on the ground next to the tree, in that secret room you unlocked after going back to change the connection back at the fort. you know the room where you found a puzzle on the ground that didn't seem connected to any cables? To the left of the panel, next to the small tree, on the ground, something yellow. You missed it.
+I Love Music i won't tell you what it does do, but i will tell you that writing it down was the smartest way to deal with it. and to more directly awnser your question, no you cannot interact with the paper in any way.
Apparently, you can interact with objects in the environment the same way you interact with the puzzles. just a few secret puzzles scattered about here and there. Keep your eyes peeled for these secrets.
This game is the truest sense of a mixed bag. For every moment I go "awesome! so creative :)" there is some moment later that makes me go "seriously? you expected people to see that tiny subtle thing with these graphics?" Great ideas. Not so good execution. Wish I didn't pay full price for it.
I love this game and I like you but I hate watching you playing the game because when I look at these tutorial riddles I figure them out way faster than you and then I have to wait for you to solve it to get to the next riddle. It makes me furious! (I'm not very patient) Sorry, but I will definitely check your other projects. :)
"the whole game might be mazes"
oh boy
:D
Someone should make a montage of every time Keith gets excited about columnar jointing.

“Ooh, everything’s pretty! *wait what’s that black beam though....* ”
It's so nice to watch this after beating the game months ago, it's like reliving it all over again haha
One of the greatest puzzle games ever made. Nice LP/.

It does the same thing, just puts down the wall, I tried it
@@airforce3496 ok, then do the other one while the wall is down

Thanks for the letsplay, delightful watching.

Deffo a different concept to what I‘ve seen before. Find the puzzles to solve the puzzles
When Sakura trees bloom it indicates that it's spring
at least I think so...
I like how you talk out your thinking process
I'm just starting watching this series because I'm now far enough into the game that I'm not worried about spoilers. This is a really great series.
this game gives me serious Lost the tv series vibes!
I imagine for the black obelisks and the humming magnetic noises... same here!
26:10 Idk if "weird thermometer-butt thing" would've been my go-to description, but sure.
That entire island bit was where I kept crashing. XD But this is going really well so far! :D

+Keith Ballard Interesting, that's awesome. Keep going with the game, I still need to catch up ha-ha.
@@KeithBallardA you study geology? Dude that rocks!

You are really fuckin smart. I can't even do puzzles without ripping my hair out. Good job and you've made this very interesting to me.
Enjoying the games you play, enjoying your voice and pace, sub from France :)
"The entire game is ... New, weird mazes" is completely not wrong.
20:41
Y'know those déjà vu moments where you think back and realize you had a dream about it?
Ur a genius
I'm over here struggling

fuck, the potter in the studio mirrors the tutorial puzzles your take there. That's really cool!
How are you so good at solving these. Some that you get done in a second take me 10 mins
Wow. You figured out the symmetrical puzzle on the hill WAY faster than I did.
Hey Keith. I'm New to your channel. Nice work mate. I I found your walkthrough as I was looking for help with the part that you mentioned at 16:35. Have you solved it?
The yellow getting distorted looks like the "printer paper," you know, with the lines?
'hello'

Paul Morphy hi
i enjoy your voice and will continue to watch
Guessing why the screen in the industrial dock building didn't light up was because the other part of the puzzle wasn't complete?
+Stephen Cruickshank I'm guessing that too, because way back in one of the very first puzzles you do in the game, it brings up that completing a puzzle to a different end gate, can activate something different. Were you humming Mario Kart at 23:26?
20:00 min into this video is where I would’ve tapped out playing the game 😭
Yay, glowy cable!
Why does the boat not activate at that point?
New sub you are amazing!!
How many episodes does it take to discover environmental puzzles
Columnar jointing!
