    I own a 2016 Corolla with over 50,000 miles and not a single problem. There's a reason these cars are the best selling in the world. Comfort, reliability, space and low maintenance cost. Everyday I see Corollas from the 1990s through 2018 model years. Occasionally I'll see a 1970s or 80s Corolla running strong.

    It's August 29, 2020. I have this exact colour, model, trim and year corolla. I've put 165,000 clicks in this and it drives like it's brand new. It's not a sporty ride, but it goes and is still super smooth. Love this car.

    Brag all you want, folks. I have a 1992 Toyota Corolla I took off the showroom floor brand new. Until recently, haven't had to put much money into it. It's now 28 years old, needs the A/C repaired again due to using reconditioned replacements previously and the transmission, also used from a salvage dealer, is slipping. But I don't go much of anywhere and it is much more comfortable than the newer models which I have driven as rentals. Still has the original paint, which does need re-done, especially since someone decided to put patio textured paint in splotches down the side. But that doesn't keep it from starting and being the love of my life (as cars go).

    I have this car and it's a pretty good car for being a Corolla. It's super reliable and easy to drive. The steering wheel is easy to turn and is overall not a bad car. This guy seems like he has some anger or he's tense or something. He should try working on that maybe.

    • @GokuInstinct1
      @GokuInstinct1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LukeJaguar I think its a little too easy to turn the wheel even though it does feel smooth. Hit a bump and you have to be careful it doesnt turn your car. On the highway you have to keep the wheel very straight because it gets out of the lane so easy with the slightest turn. Still like my car but its not perfect. Bought it for reliability mostly.

    Driving a 2010 S in 2019. It is still advanced enough to feel up to date, is tastefully designed, is both safe feeling and has some of the best crash test ratings with a solid cabin, well designed crumple zones, with airbags everywhere and other safety features. Being higher in mileage and a little beat up having been used on the daily since it was new, it has a few issues but even those can just be lived with while it still trucks along RELIABLY. I've had no issue with the electric steering (actually safer than hydraulic) except that it is sensitive to tire pressure, which should be maintained anyway.
    And BTW my combined mileage is 37.x consistently no matter how I drive it.

    People should realize this car isn't meant for 0-60 or a quarter-mile time. Its meant for low income families and for families who'd have their cars still on the road a decade from now. Its reliable and practical. Two main components when a dad of 2 or 3 goes to look for a small, fuel efficient car.
    Kbb forgot to mention its main/only rival - the civic. Might not be the exact competitor but people buy the civics for pretty much the same reason. Reliable and practical with a touch of sport.

    I just bought one of these 2011 "S" models, the only stick that the dealer had on their sizable lot. Very happy with the car thus far, exactly what I was expecting, with a few extras that I wasn't, and frankly... I simply love the styling and the options that came with the car for the price. According to every review I've read, there are more powerful and in some ways better cars in this class, but I do believe I'll be with this one awhile, and have no worries about resale value when I'm done.

    my mom recently bought me a 2011 corolla for my first car and i think its good and reliable. i use to get to school 5 days a week going on the freeway. it has great mpg and ive always felt like i had total control of the wheel.
    HOWEVER, i prefer the tailights of the '09 and '10 corollas... i dont know why they had to refresh the corolla's -sigh-
    i could bought a new 2010 corolla but i wanted a 2011 cause why not just get the newer version, right?

    Update from earlier post: have had my '11 Corolla "S" stick for close to 6 months now. 6,000 miles in, it continues to grow on me. What strikes me most is how comfortable this car is, both seats and ride, especially compared to my last car in this class (03 Civic LX). Performance is about the same, the Civic did get slightly better fuel economy. Very happy with the car.

    Where exactly do you get that information? The Corolla does NOT get best in class fuel economy. Virtually all of it's competition gets around 40 mpg or slightly higher depending on which engine and transmission options you get. A 4 speed in 2013 is very dated and needs to be replaced with a 6 speed auto. My family's 2013 Dodge Dart has 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque with it's 1.4L Turbo. Our's is the 6 speed manual and manages 39 mpg highway! The Corolla has nowhere near that power/mpg balance.

    I took a look at your source. The Corolla is not listed as the best anymore. I'm not ignorant, I know cars and what they are rated at. I don't know who these consumers think they're kidding when they say that cars like the Corolla, Civic, Mazda 3, Dart, and Hyundai Elantra only get in the low 20's in the city when they are all rated at above 25 mpg city. And someone clames they got 47 mpg highway with a non-hybrid Civic? Not possible. That is false information posted there.

    Compare it to others like the Mazda 3, Chevy Cruze, Hyundai Elantra, and Honda Civic and they all manage better fuel economy than the Corolla. The Ford Focus is about on par with the Corolla but offers so many more features and is in my opinion, a much better looking car. One thing's for sure too, the Civic and Corolla have the cheapest, most bland interiors possible compared to most of the cars I mentioned above. Don't go off ranting about how the Corolla's the best before doing your research.

    @mikeeaeeee Thats just ignorant sheep logic and buying a car based on preceptions and what quality? It's fallacy. Toyota's new interiors are hard plastic and sloppily assembled and the exterior feels like it's made out of tin cans. Im a fan of older Toyotas and reliability of them has been proven but how are the new ones supposed to last when their built quality has declined? You can't have reliability without quality. At least with the Honda you can get both reliability and quality.
