Meet Jamie Robinson, the founder of Jamie’s Rescue who has rescued thousands of dogs in Miami over 22 years. Since 2015 Miami shelters have a “no-kill policy”, but unfortunately the city's shelters have not expanded in size, so it is harder to find a place for stray dogs and cats. During Covid veterinarian prices went up dramatically and now charge up to $600 to spay or neuter so many families cannot afford these services. The result is that Jamie gets calls every day and on average finds homes for two dogs a day.
Do you love dogs and want to help but don’t know how? Right now Jamie is taking care of six puppies while the mom is in intensive care at St. Francis Emergency Hospital.
