Loved my Africa twin, but stretching to reach terra firma and every time I hit a stone watching and me hit the dirt oh and the cost or replacing plastic bits, well it all got too much. So sold it bought a Himalayan still drop it on the rough stuff but at a third of the cost and who needs plastic bits anyway, it takes me longer to get in between the rough bits, but it still brings the grin to my face
Nope.. not for me.. After my last BMW650GS camping trip in the forrests of central Queensland, I bought a WR450 and added a bigger tank, longer gear travel and kreiga soft bags. Half the weight, twice the speed and goes up and down mountains like a Goat. THank you for your latest vids though.. Well done. :-)
Since Honda has just announced XL750 midweight adv model, it should be a perfect fit into your request. After all, as its name "Transalps" suggests, it is born and designed for a Trans-Euro trip
Great video as usual. The Africa twin is a fine peace of kit if your riding with friends. Wouldn’t want to ride solo on it off road. I’m loving my crf 250L. It’s slow but I get to see the world go by.
Recently completed the Borderlands TET ( 790 and 2x 230's) had a great time, apart from all those blooming gates. dropped into Cumbria to do the loop around Alston, just a couple of challenges for the 790. stunning countryside , the moors are awesome.
This is the first video I’ve seen on your channel. Loved it! First rate video, editing, sound and especially the commentary! 😆 Subscribed from America!
Hi Motoeuro, Ive followed in your footsteps. Traded in my AT Adventure Sports and bought a 300 Rally. I’m hoping I don’t regret it. But the ATAS is too big n heavy for me on the trails. I spend a lot of time exploring on my own. Not good trying to pick up an ATAS. Cheers for all the videos. You helped me decide on getting the 300. Life’s too short. Be safe. 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice scenery. The DCT is worth it off road. We went thru double the water you did and it performed awesome. As long as you don’t tip that heavy bugger to the side.... I think mine is over 265 kg with the skid plate and all.... waiting for the next mid adventure bike... keep on the good stuff coming....
If only Honda would make the Rally 500 at the 450L's weight with a 3L oil capacity. Until then I'll keep changing the oil on my adventurized 450L. Enjoying the roughest trails followed by nice long stretches of highway home. Don't worry about offending people sharing your experience with light weight, it just makes riding easier. Thumbs up for your vids, quality stuff.
What you gain in comfort you will lose in handling. I would never do that kind of riding with a bike that I can't flatfoot or lift up in any situation. Africa Twin is too top heavy for me but big respect for them who can manage it.
My 2005 650 Vstrom is about the same... maybe a bit lighter?...215kg plus center stand and crash bars... it would have done just fine where you guys went... enjoy your videos
That's why you bring friends on a offroad-trip with the Africa Twin, to help pushing :-P At the end of the stage he owns you a beer for that though. However, the DCT is a great help off road despite the extra weight. See towards for your next vid :-D
@@Motoeuro I'm originally from Wales, so of course I have no accent at all, it's just everyone else. Enjoying your channel and your humour by the way. Cheers.
2:48 Brilliant camera work.
Great to see an africa twin doing what it was designed to do! Can't wait for the next one👍
Cheers :D More soon! Thanks for being here :D
You should do books on tape. Excellent calm voice..
I bet he would love to. Sadly, tapes no longet exist. And please, don't offer spotify. I know he'll refuse
When the top box spills its content, that laugh is priceless!

CRF, a fraction of the weight and a fraction of the price....spot on for that sort of riding
yes, but have some other down sizes.
Very well done, again.fantastic humor too. Great to follow your adventures, love it👌👌
Brillant, as always...
Fair enough. Thanks for showing, great tour ;-).
Great vid ....... and love your dry humour plus that soft north eastern accent. Keep the vids with the commentary (and humour) coming

Agreed. No distrspect to anyone who has one but for me it's just too heavy - At times my Rally seems heavy!
Ha love the video...you lot do make me chuckle!
Just another perfect piece . Thank you very much. I await the next one which will be outstanding no doubt.
Cheers much appreciated :D Thanks for watching!

You'll get along just fine with the Rally, for trails she is a great bike :D The 300 is an improvement over the 250. Go careful on your own! Cheers :D

Great video bonny lad. Maybe you should get a windscreen wiper for your camera 😂😂
Very good video, saludos from Aranjuez (Madrid)
Thank you very much! :D Cheers for watching!
Good video!!!
Great watch. Long time since I heard that phrase "christ on a bike" 😇

Canny video 😊, a lot of your international viewers winit know what a Bank is, ( incline, hill ) 😂, looking forward to next video
LOL! Damn that 'Geordie' in me! Cheers for watching John :D
This is the best 255 kg ever made. ;-)
Ha ha! Cheers Moto Troter :D

Best Bike...Africa Twin 👍🏻
Gold!
Ooooo I don't feel well!
😂😂😂😂 lock your box
Cracking! If you need a 2nd Camera with none of that TH-cam Influencer / partner shite, let me know! Cheers, Phil.
Cheers Phil :D Might take you up on that! All the very best :D
7:45 where did he get that sweatshirt :D
700cc, same aesthetics and characters as the AT and of course, weighing less. That would be a great bike from Honda :)
Hail Mark Africa twin hero well done mate 👍 light weights did well also 😁
Also it's not a holiday!!!
Ha ha ha!! Cheers Jim :D
Why all tet riders choose to drive trough the worst mud and water when there is try road next
Anything above 200kg is far too heavy for trails on your own!
Yep. At times even my Rally seemed too heavy on my own - picking them up a few times........exhasuting!
you bet. even the Transalp I consider risky to take on trail on my own. not a chance to move through unknown dirt while with pillion
when dry even scooter is fine
Where are the Moaas 4:25 ?
The Moors were in Northumberland, close to the town of Blanchland. It never gets dry there due to all the clay!
@@Motoeuro Thanks mate, it was a silly little joke about your accent (which I like by the way)
