Loved your review! It made me more excited about getting this car. My husband & I are looking this weekend to get this as my daily driver/weekend fun car and keep his STI as the family car. It's perfect for a work commute. 😍 So excited.
You will never regret it. I"ve had the '16, 17, 19 and now on my 4th, the 2023 MX-5. I'm 78 yrs. old and cannot stay out of this car! As a young man back in the '60's, bought a '64 MGB, then a '66 MGB and if I hadn't been drafted in '66 I'd still own both cars, but for the MX-5 coming into my life, I'd have to sell the MGB's if all that were to have been possible. The MX-5's are the cars people dream of owning. however, most are afraid to admit it.
A full cart at Costco fits with top down. Easy to live with. Only competition is a convertable. Boxster or F type only soft top. Vette hard top, all 3x the price.
@@kevinjin in my case only 5 days because my Mazda dealer here in Germany already had it as new car in his showroom 🙏🏻😌. I was only lucky and at the right time at the right place. Regular order time here would currently be about 5-6 months as far as I heard.
@@azteka6103 an Audi TT? At least that would be the only Audi I find great looking. Maybe next time. So far I hope I can drive my Miata for a really long time.
We own an RF in Deep Crystal Blue since 2021but ours has white leather interior 😊 We love the car for our holiday Roadtrips 👍🏻 Have to admit It's not our only MX-5 though. Still have our 2003 NBFL Phoenix Edition, too, which we have since 2017😉
i drive this car every day--snow tires in winter. plan to keep it another 10 years at least, it's a fantastic daily on the smooth Ohio roads near me...but I could see it being problematic if I was a larger person, at 5'10 / 150lb it feels like it was built for my dimensions.
The Miata is plenty roomy enough for most people up to about 6'2". There is ample of head and leg room in this car for anyone who is too round. Width is a bigger issue than height in this car. I'm 6ft and avg size, and I actually have to move the seat up.
When the car doesn't lean in turns, it isn't talking to you because you happen to be on a racetrack, controlling every move of the car because you happen to be a professional driver. The MX-5 has to be tuned for that kind of driver, but not for people who just want to have one hell of a lot of fun thinking they are a professional driver. By the way, I like your presentation of this vehicle.
My 2017 RF's Infotainment System is having these problems: screen changes periodically (every 5 minutes or so) without me requesting it, FAVORITES can only remember one FM station, and mp3 player connected via USB plays for a minute and then dies. Of course, none of this happened under warranty and though I only have 12K miles on it, Mazda refuses to make good on it...grrr! I did a factory reset on the firmware (back to OS=59.00.441 NAN and GraceNotes(?) db=00.07.000) but that was no help. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Zoom!Zoom! Fortunately, the radio does play (even while my 'haunted' screen changes on its own).
The firmware you are using is very old. There have been many revisions-the current version is 74.00.311A.. The current Gracenote database if version 9. I suggest you begin by asking the dealer to do the updates.
My 2018 2.0 Volkswagen Passat S four cylinder turbo puts out 174 horsepower, and 184 torque. I bought it new and had nothing but computer, fuse, and mechanical problems; some deathly dangerous. I hated European vehicles since then. The Mazda Miata is seriously my dream car. Naturally aspirated powerful engine in a small very lightweight car. Rear wheel drive. Convertible option. Especially the option to turn off the Traction Control. And NO CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION, I HAVE REAL GEARS! Analog info. P.S. I hate looking at tablet screens all day, and all night.
Great in the snow? Is it? I have a 2017 Miata. I have never driven it in the snow and wouldn’t want to try. When it snows, it stays in the garage and I drive my 4Runner. FYI, I’m 6-02. I wouldn’t want to be any taller than that. My Miata is a blast to drive.
Space! Try driving an Elise! I have a Miata and an Elise. The Miata is roomy! But it is a great car to drive! Elise is much faster but Miata is easier to relax in. You can one one hand a Miata but not an Elise.
resumed ---> resigned. it arrives in 2022 pretty much unchanged ---> in 2022 it recieves kinematic posture control. the wind noise was unbearable ---> softtop convertible sounds better with the top down than the rf with the top down.
It’s is, if you fit. Sold my 2020 BBR Club. Beautiful car and fun as hell. But uncomfortable after an hour. I’m 5’11”. 210 lbs. Needs to be a touch bigger. And more power. 185 hp is laughable in 2020. Hoping the new Z will be a convertible. Twice the power and bigger seats
I'm the same size as you, and I'm thinking about buying one of these for my daily driver. I've only been for a 10 minute test drive. I have a 2021 GR Supra for my weekend car so I don't need another powerful car. Is it the seats that are uncomfortable? height adjustment make it uncomfortable?
2:05 this is why the Miata is not the answer. The interior ergonomics of the Miata is terrible. Seats do not recline back far enough, strange hump on the passenger side floor makes it uncomfortable for your guest, windshield is too close to your head, cupholders are in the wrong place, no glove box and no storage room on the doors. Nothing here looks comfortable 2:37. The Miata was designed wrong and Mazda expects the consumer to deal with all of its shortcomings. Um, no- I don't think so Mazda. The better answer is the Mini Cooper convertible. The Mini seats four people, the top can open half way and be a sunroof or all the way for the full convertible experience. Rear seats fold down allowing for a spacious trunk. Front seats recline back all the way. Plenty of leg and arm room. Cup holders are front and center where they belong. Overall fit and finish of materials is better and it handles like a go-cart. No contest, the Mini wins!
@@huntersmith8338 Looks like you have been sleeping under a rock since 2016. Gen 3 Mini is a solid reliable car. This is a fact. As for the GTI..it's just another boring hardtop grocery getter. You want fun...get a convertible.

I love my 2016 Roadster! It’s my daily driver for over 4 years and 70K miles.
Finally someone reviewing an ND who isnt afraid of the throttle :) good work
Thanks!
Don’t always comment but I will say: best review I’ve seen by far for the 2022 miata. Good job!!!
Thank you!

Is the RF Club trim worth it, please?
One correction, you state that there's no digital display, but the left third of the dashboard is in fact a digital display.
It is, but it's super tiny! Nice catch, thanks.

are coupes basically sports cars? or a coupe is just a 2 seater sedan?
The way I see it is that a coupe is a car that has a slopping roof line out the rear, but what do I know?

I would literally lose 100lbs just to drive this car but sadly it’s bad market this car has a mark up in California

Quick questions
is it good in the snow? If im 6 feet tall will I fit?
6 feet fits, but it's tight. I know people who drive these things all year here in Canada. Apparently they're great in the snow.
Six feet and 200 pounds is about the limit in general. It depends on the torso.
Good in snow???with this question, you are not miata
With as rough as he was driving it, I hope it was his and not a loaner from dealership.
Isn't that the only way to drive a Miata?
Just unpack the hard-case and put the contents into the boot. Problem solved.
Be well, Sir!
Yes!

I knew miata's cabin is not the quietest one, but that noise is way too disturbing.
The soft top is even louder!
your title could do with being a little more creative but your camera angles on the drive made up for it.
Ok.
Forget cargo space, forget cup holder. Amen

MX-5 was designed for humans of average size. If you’re excessively tall or wide, what can I say… sometimes life’s unfair.
Omg 4:24 was scary haha
for 2 liter should have at least 260bhp
It doesn't need power to be fun.
