First let me say the roar at higher RPM's is beautiful as is the construction of the air intake. However, the installation for a BRZ is different than for an FR-S. To get that nut on for the intake housing is just about impossible. There is no way I can get my hand in there to screw it on. Unless, I am not seeing something, and that is entirely possible. I was exhausted when I put this in. Other then that everything is perfect. It would be nice if a couple of extra allen bolts were available for the air cover, for people like me who lose one inside the engine.
Hi, Since you replaced the OEM part for the left pipe by a sound generator cap at 4:06, may I ask what's its purpose? I'm a beginner at mechanics and looking at this makes me wonder why the pipe was there in the first place. if you can just suppress it like that...
Hey CuiZinieR7 . The sound generator pipe was there from the factory to increase engine noise in the cabin. Once you install our intake system, we found the sound generator pipe was no longer necessary. It's essentially nothing but a sound tube :).
I don't have much knowledge on cars, but I recently got a 2013 suabru brz. I want to modify, but don't know how or where to start. Is an intake a good place to start? And how should I go about doing it? Will it be fine with my current stock BRZ? Do I need anything else besides the intake kit?

This intake provides 7 whp / 5 wtq gains while maintaining A/F ratios with no additional tuning. More power can be gained with a proper tune on the vehicle.
Hey CabooseKid! Unfortunately neither of our BRZ/FR-S intakes will fit a Sprintex Supercharger kit. Our intakes were designed to fit the stock throttle body location. The Sprintex supercharger kit comes with a new air intake tube because the throttle body is moved to a significantly different location.
I guess it was better to ask if the CAF box moved the port from where the stock port was on the OEM housing. Right now I have a stock air box on my Sprintex and wanted to help the SC breath better.

We have not tested this with aftermarket tunes.
Is it necessary to have a Mishimoto oil cooler kit for the air intake to work properly?
No the oil cooler is not required for the intake for function properly. However is would be a nice upgrade of you drive the car hard.

Yes, this intake is CARB legal for 2013-2017 models
