To be fair, Death battle (the team) Hates Goku vs Superman 2. they regard it as one of their worst episodes and it does not do the characters justice. after 8 years they just wanted to show how far they've come since and improved on something they felt like they could do the characters way more justice in.

@@AndrewAce. Given the composite scenario that Death Battle laid out, he already did catch-up. Basic study of Heroes, Jump Force, and God Fusion would tell you he has surpassed Superman.
Obviously this is a highly flawed way to approach the two, as we should be matching canon Goku vs Superman's original run (because in comics "canon" is slapped on everything even if contradictory). That however will never happen, because comic "fans" are allergic to anything before the 80's.
Given the rulesets behind Deathbattles fights, Goku still has a long way to go before he can face the strongest iterations of superman.
Of the three Goku vs Superman videos, the third I think captures the essence of the two characters the best. The fight was good visually, but... the little moments of them showing that Goku and Superman were having fun with it? And the ending of them in the afterlife and fist bumping? That's the perfect ending for the two.

Goku isn't going to beat any of those cats in DC or Marvel because every one of them has some obscure version of themselves that absorbed god and is omnipotent or some other nonsense. Goku doesn't have 5000 versions of himself for the writers to pull one that can beat somebody out of the hat.
They can default to Goku going a level beyond and getting another transformation then gives him an edge.
That's how DB writers would handle it. "a non cannon fight he can't win? time to go a level beyond!"

Even though they literally said he'd beat most other versions of Superman that weren't mainline DC. Keyword being "mostly" since there's a few that he wouldn't be able to beat like Superman Prime or Cosmic.

in all faitmess, they did say the reason as to this rematch in order to create the fight they envisioned. the 2nd fight according to Ben was not their initial vision and just needed something for the event it was placed at.
The batman and wonderwoman statements they used does make sense when you realize that batman apparently is one of the best fighters in the dc universe, which is insane in the context of skill alone. So I understand why they used that too. I respect that they did it for them, rather to just ask the question again.

I never knew omega beams were supposed to erase you from existence...? Then you have an example of a complete mortal like Batman surviving and be transported through time. I'm pretty sure both of these characters fall under the rule of they are as strong as the story needs them to be at the end of the day
The Omega Beam’s effect can change its effect based on Darkseid’s desir, they can either erase people or they can transport

In one continuity, The omega beams hit Damian when he protected Batman but he was just badly charred, not erased from existence.

I went and watched the feats part because you made this video. When they stated SM's first 2 feats I was shook and was like, yea...I dont think Goku can beat this xD. The feats just kept getting crazier and crazier. The only one that might....MIGHT have a chance from the DB universe to my knowledge is Zeno. Even then, I don't think he can beat superman.

I don't think there is someone in dragon ball that can win against "at his best Supes" as there is heavily implications and statements in the comics that even his own verse there isnt really anyone strong enough at his peak to truly beat him. There is a mantra in the comics " Superman Can" which is basically just a statement to his inevitability, as there are even greater implications that he might have a connection to the True God of the Omni/Metaverse. The problem with the matchup is that they match very well thematically being the strongest hero from earth, but the scale and purpose of each character is wildly different.

While Zeno destroys a few universes in a tantrum, Mxy destroys the entire DC multiverse in a tantrum as easily as a snap of his fingers. Meanwhile Superman recently lost to Godzilla in a new crossover battle, even with the help of Shazam & Hawkgirl. Superman has taken several Ls from characters in his own verse. My issue with people giving Superman the W over Goku, is which version of the Man of Steel are people using? There are over 50 version of Clark Kent in the DC comic media. Unless y'all count DB movies/games, there is only one version of Goku.
As a fan of Dragonball, I stopped caring about a winner since the beginning. I just wanted to see a good crossover fight.

I think its because Superman versus Goku one and two were not proper Death Battles.
The first one they didn't use Pre-crisis because Goku would have gotten stomped into the earth's core. So they broke the rule of using the characters at their peak.
The second one they still didn't use Pre-crsis because Goku would have gotten stomped again.
It's bias... they have Goku props and then forgot them at his best...
I always assumed that senzu beans could only heal fresh wounds which is why yamcha can get his stomach regenerated after gero put a hole in him yet characters keep their scars and nobody gets their tail back
Sort of. Scars are already healed wounds, they look different because the body uses a different substance to heal it.
Goku's tail not being back can make sense because in the og Dragonball, Kami used magic to permanently remove it. Vegeta probs didn't have it grow back because he already lost it a couple times in other battles. Gohan could have his not back because he's a hybrid saiyan who hasn't inherited everything to have his tail grow back 3 times.

it was exceptionally redundant, especially after the message they left us off with at the end of the second round, with how the man who always strives to push his limits, will never overcome the one who has no limits to push, and that we should be ok with that. Goku might have gotten stronger since but nothing has come along to shift the existing paradigm between him and Superman.

You claim that death battle did this only for money (which don’t get me wrong is a large part of it) Ben (the voice of Wiz) stated that it was made because of how much time it had been since the first one as well as the first season and to celebrate death battle as whole
The problem with putting dc or mavel characters against anyone outside of those two is the power level of characters. For example the flash can move so fast he breaks time. But he can still get rocked in the face by catwoman.

It did in the comics, and to make it worse, it was like 3 different flashes.
At the very least, at the post fight results. They showed they are nearly on par with each other in skills. With Batman consider this, he trained with ALL the best martial artists in the DC Universe and even trained with people who aren't martial artists like in escapism. Bruce is pretty much one of the best fighters in the DC Universe and Bruce can be the best MASTER to teach Superman in Martial Arts and Wonder Woman is one of the best Female fighters in the DC Universe as well. Both her and Clark helped fight a war for a thousand years, we've seen how good of a tactician she can be in the Injustice Universe with helping those two universes versions of Superman be more of a warlord and distance his humanity. In a blog post. Ben did state their could be a time when Goku CAN beat Superman depending on a new form of his, why else did you think they added a scene where Superman told Goku "You nearly beat me this time" Granted, that could be Clark being humble to Goku but considering their friends in the Death Battle Universe. You can tell they want to keep fighting.
It needs to be stated; DB was low balling Superman AND THOR in their respective fights with Goku and Vegeta. The high end of American Comics is absolutely insane. Superman and Thor BOTH have lifted infinite weight on panel and BOTH have tanked multi-galactic erasing attacks that weren’t just stated but definitive in that they have actually done the damage too. Also they are using their base forms when Superman and Thor have stronger forms and gear. The “New Goku Form” should fight Superman/Thor/ect arguments need to stop.

Thor, Mjoinir hard counters the Dragonball power-set. Thor is Stronger, Faster and on panel absorbed the God-Bomb which was capable of destroying the main 616 Marvel reality.

They lowballed and just got stuff wrong. They used the Daizenshuu which states multiple times that the DB universe is infinite in size.
Both SDBH Goku versions have the same, if not better feats as worldforger superman.
As for SBDH:
CC Goku scales above Xeno Goku, so just use the feats of Xeno Goku to upscale CC Goku.
-Demigra destroys history.
-Demigra absorbs Toki Toki, who controls all of space and time.
-Base Xeno goku shits on demigra
-Xeno Goku is asking permission to power up so that he doesn't accidentally destroy the multiverse.
-Supreme Kai is holding the universe.
-Goku is casually moving and teleporting to the rift of time.
-CC goku shits on Xeno goku.
-CC Goku absorbed the power of the U tree, which was stated to be infinitely transcending, and bore the seed to create a new universe.
With the similar speeds, the power gap Superman has on Goku and the skill gap in favour of Goku, I really see this battle as a fight between a martial arts master and an elephant.
The skill gap is balanced out by the experience gap in Superman's favour. Not only has Superman fought a lot more enemies, but his enemies also have much more variety than Goku's enemies do.
The only way that i can see Goku "beat" Superman is maybe if he knows how to use Forced Spirit Fission.

I think people forget that when it comes at actual powerscaling, ScrewAttack/DeathBattle are legitmately the worst at it by a large margin. That's why I refused to watch anymore of their content a long time ago. They're not here to give an honest answer as to which character stronger, they're giving you the ILLUSION of an answer. At heart, they are just here to entertain and thats it. They are the safest most mainstream debate like content on youtube and I honestly don't get why so many still people watch them when they consistently get simple facts wrong time and time again.

Wonder Woman and Batman are insanely skilled martial artist learning from them would make you more than proficient paired with his own kryptonian training...numerous encounters with all kind of adversaries, adventures, his time on war world where he literally was just fighting and so much more Superman would be plenty skilled.
Visually it look soild, the art style was a nice pick, & the fight itself was pretty good. In reality the fight was mostly only for views, fan service, & that this was an anniversary video. I'm sure there's plenty versions of Superman out there that would lose to current Goku.

I didn't even bother watching this death battle this time, but I assumed the fight analysis went down something like, "Well, Goku is super strong, but Superman is Superman, so he wins." There are so so many points people make like how does batman Beat Superman. That's been explained in the comics easily and its why I don't think people really look into these things. Batman beats superman because superman quite literally let's him this has been stated not only by superman himself but by batman himself. Batman while fighting superman with a kryptonian ring. Stated himself their isn't any way of besting him but I can stun him. He couldn't keep hitting superman or his own bones would shatter due to superman skin and even while being weakened by kryptonite superman was still holding back stated by batman himself. Most of the comics we see superman in he holds back in superman Been asked before. Who would win in a fight you or batman and he answered honestly he said batman the person asked why and he simply said because I'd let him. It would hurt him to much if he lost (this is backed up due to how batman first was when he started going after superman he made it his mission and would do anything just to take superman down, this was when batman used guns and other things. You ever see the comic where batman slaps Robin (dick Grayson at the time) yeah it was because he was so caught up with superman and wanting to beat the guy that's all he cared about for 99% of the time.

Realistically with the way Death battle does fights, you won't realistically see Goku winning vs Superman until an iteration of him pops up that is at least Low Outerversal, then again I could argue Goku would need to be High 1-A given superman's Milkman iteration lmao.
Still, this time around, the narrative and story was done better and Death battle more accurately portrayed the 2 characters than previously. The animation was on point too. What I do appreciate from their video the most is how they specified that Goku's current strength from the super timeline would beat most of the Superman iterations. Oh and Death battle does a better job of specifying their rules now vs the 1st 2 videos when they go over rules of how they include all feats from every iteration. Death battle has done this for any characters they pit against each other, not just Goku vs Superman. Whether you agree with this method or not, if we take this principle and apply it, then I honestly don't disagree with the outcome of the battle.
Though the first 2 death battles of Goku vs Superman were researched poorly and the reasons they gave for why Superman would beat Goku was just blatantly wrong. They clearly improved and it shows, though the controversy around this debate will rage on regardless of the outcome or whatever I may say. Those are just some of my thoughts on the matter.

They basically made Superman immune to reality until he isn't. There's the whole weakness vs vulnerability to magic argument too. But worst of all, they made one huge mistake that was contradicted by the panel they posted. They scaled the DC universe at almost infinitesimal levels, saying it is always expanding billions of lightyears every half second when that wasn't the case. But his travelling speed was already broken by DC themselves when he instantly appeared back from another galaxy recently like they showed, making him even more broken than ever. Wally Flash beat teleportation decades ago but this was basically giving superman teleportation and calling it him flying.
That0s the main problem with DC, they keep giving their heroes stupid levels of power and the next iteration has to give them even more powers to keep things interesting. At this point everyone is bigger, faster and more powerful than infinity.

Vegeta can 100% beat superman. His technique that he learned in the Morro arc spirit fission or whatever it was called would strip superman right away at the beginning of his powers from the sun. Even if he did try to fly away Vegeta could use instant transmission and stop him and then just hakai superman in his weakened state. K.O.!

It's not something he'd be able to resist having 50% or more of his energy taken with one touch. Then another few blows and superman would be back to human level power. There's no resistance to it. I quote this " if the power isn't natural and is not yours it will be Forced out of Vegeta's enemy just by touching him. Superman won't know what to do with that massive amount of his powers drained immediately! He'll just try to fly away into the sun to recharge and recover and then Vegeta will use instant transmission and stop him and hakai him.

The problem I have with this episode is that they showed Xeno and CC Goku's feats to Manga Goku. Like, his doesn't has this kind of feats(for example - Super Saiyan 4 Full Power Limit Breaker). Of course Manga Goku will lose. He isn't on Superman's level. But I think that Xeno Goku or CC Goku would win this fight. Yet, just like You pointed out. Money and views are the only thing that made them do this battle all over again....
They used a composite of CC and Super Goku. The only reason Goku survived 1 punch and was relative in speed to Superman was because they gave him his CC scaling

Lets be real. Goku will never be on par with Superman. Superman's feats alone is just to insane compared to Goku. The only real insane feat Goku has that is comparable to Superman is his speed. I'm not a DBZ hater because DBZ was the very first anime I was introduced to back in the 90's on television. It was one of the best cartoons I've ever seen. But I'm just being realistic knowing both Superman and Gokus capabilities. I would say for skills it's almost irrelevant for Superman. Goku could have all the skills available to him but it would literally mean nothing if he cannot over power him in strength or beat down his durability. It's like having a child who has a black belt in karate and jujitsu fighting some 6'3" guy who just knows how to punch. It literally means nothing because his strength and toughness will just over come everything thrown at him.

The battle was excellent, but I simply couldn't understand why they decided to do it, unless the outcome was going to be different like in some of their other rematches. But honestly, there was no reason for the outcome to change, so I knew what was off the table.
Like you said, I think it was just for views, but I don't necessarily see them doing another one. I think people would start to get annoyed if they did...
6:00 - Yeah, Zenkais definitely did drop off. Like a lot of concepts Toriyama introduces, they don't seem to hold much relevance outside of a given storyline or event. I would like to point out though, that Black was basically getting Zenkais on crack like UE Vegeta. Man was getting stronger just from getting pummeled. But aside from a few instances like that, the concept seems largely dead/abandoned. It was a plot-convenience that basically became inconvenient to the plot...

Death Battle always does a stat argument i.e. He can do this, he can do that. As though it's a trading card game. They never argue what effects each others powers could have on the other.
Round 1. Fair enough. Energy Attacks used by the Z-Fighters/Z-Villains are are a source of light, and a source of heat. Visible Light, Infrared, add the Thermodynamics you've also got Ultraviolet. VL, IR, and UV all have 1 thing in common...Sunlight. So an Energy Attack/Energy Aura is capable of duplicating the effects of the/a Sun. So a Super Saiyans yellow aura would duplicate the effects of a Yellow Sun.
Round 2. Again fair enough. Super Saiyan Blue's Aura would duplicate the effects of a Blue Sun which triples a Kryptonian's Power. Which would also have an adverse effect based on Tower Of Babel.*
*In the Tower Of Babel storyline, Batman's contingency plan for Superman is stolen and used against him. A piece of Green Kryptonite exposed to a certain form of radiation created a Crimson form of Kryptonite. Exposing Superman to this Crimson Kryptonite causes intense pain, overloads his natural solar absorption to the point where his super senses become overwhelmed which in turn incapacitates Superman without killing him. Travelling the entire Milky Way without causing Time Dilation. 5 years at light speed in space would be 36 years on Earth. Sun Dipping every Yellow Sun in the Milky Way in 17 seconds creates a serious problem. At only lightspeed that would take Superman nearly 2 years to get out of the Solar System. So a round trip of the Milky Way at lightspeed would take over 98 Million years. To do it in 17 seconds he'd have to be moving at 4,222,553,402.8813 times the speed of light. 17 seconds at that speed in space, 16,388.905901594 years will have passed on Earth.
Sun Dipping every Sun in the Milky Way would also create the same adverse effect based on Tower Of Babel.

So 2 thoughts on this. First, as a long time Death Battle fan, to me this fight was clearly just to make up for the sins of the previous 2 fights. Not only were they getting a lot of criticism from fans of both sides, there was a lot of information in both battles that needed to be clarified better, or outright corrected, that it made sense for them to "redo" the fight. Don't get me wrong, I can understand the idea of it being a media stunt kind of deal where they just do it for the clout and the money, but if that was the case I feel like it would have been the season finale as previous battles have been rather than the second to last matchup. Also, and I think you seem to realize this but just to clarify, a lot of your criticisms regarding what is and isn't canon or what Goku can and can't do boils down to them just taking every advantage, canon to the character or not, and use it for these death battles. And especially for a death battle which in the past has been highly controversial, they wanted to give Goku literally EVERY ability he has EVER had and debunk why it doesn't matter with Superman just to get all the nitpicky fans off their backs. I mean there are STILL people who think Goku wins this fight and, while I WISH Goku was strong enough to win this fight, he just isn't and probably will never be. The day Goku can take on Superman is the day Dragon Ball's writing REALLY goes off the deep end in my opinion. It just doesn't make sense in the Dragonball world to have Goku punch someone so hard that they feel it across the multiverse, or for him to be so mentally fast that he calculates things in a nanosecond or whatever else Supes has up his sleeve. In comics, sure it is supposed to be absurd. But that really doesn't fit well with Dragonball in my opinion. They haven't done wacky stuff like that since Dragonball and for good reason. But yeah just my 2 cents.
Just a small thing to add. It’s not even about the death battle. But I’m going to go out on a limb (no pun intended) and say that I think they possibly regenerate limbs. They break their bones and it can literally heal an open wound in your body (see Yamcha). If it can regenerate bones (grow new bone) and patch up a hole in your body (high probability that an organ was damaged) then it’s almost save to say they PROBABLY can regenerate a whole limb since it can regenerate nerve, bone and skin already.

I honestly think that for this fight Death Battle should have started discounting things like outliers. In versus debates there are feats that are unusable. When I was on CBR we had a term called 'Spiderman vs Firelord' where it references Spidey defeating a herald of Galactus without any help despite being woefully underpowered to even do anything against the other character. Most of Mainline Superman's feats are just that, outliers or Spider-Man vs Firelord. Hell like Goku, he's not even the strongest member of the Justice League: Wonder Woman or Martian Manhunter are arguably much more powerful than him (and both would lose to Goku, Vegeta, Gohan or Piccolo at this point).
And when characters reach 'Universal +' when it comes to strength or power like Goku and Superman it becomes meaningless to discuss the size of each universe to claim one is more powerful than the other. It never crossed their mind that Goku could do the same thing to the DC Universe that Superman could based on the punch feat. Yet they just go 'well Universe 7 is 'smaller' than the DC universe thus less impressive'.
doesnt help that they barely dived into Heroes goku or used any evidential statements from any of the guides, you know the kind. blah blah higher dimension/multiple dimensions in Uni 7 which, sure, is a bit iffy but to at least have touched on it and gone "its a bit up in the air so we won't use it" still would've been appreciated.
Also if they fully went into SDBH goku it wouldnt just been straight fkn over for superman, and it's not plausible to say "they didnt fully utilise SDBH goku because it wouldve been an autowin" because DeathBattle did say "we have the characters on our show at their strongest"

Not only do they combine multiple Supermen, they act like his base physical ability can be measured by the force-upon-impact when he flies with all of his speed and strength for more than 15 seconds.

The only real issue I have with DB is how obvious they make it that they're sucking off Superman by not even knowing what they're talking about, but doing it anyways, even though they know they don't. For YEARS, people have corrected them constantly on things like "cosmic armor superman isn't actually Superman". CAS is called the Thought Robot. He is a robot meant to be piloted by two people. It's powers are not somehting Superman can lay claim to, since, it's a different entity. Not Superman. Yet they mention him.
Also, the gold Superman, AKA Prime One Million, isn't even someone you can point to for accurate feats, since the fanbase has wanked his comic panels into a mess. It's literally them twisting the panels to make fake claims. Like the idea that he revived Lois Lane from nothing, when it was the imp Mxy using 5th dimension reality warping powers to di it, and he's even mentioned on the panels. So even the panels can't be used by his ass kissers, because the panels directly contradict in every sense and word the claims.
And then you have the stupid attempts to claim "he's limitless!" when it's literally not how it works. He wasn't designed to be unlimited, like he's somehow different than just "an MC is as strong as the writer wants". It's literally just how people write characters. there's always been a limit, or a lack of statements claiming some kind of unlimited power. If their logic is "well we're combining all these Supermen together." then the same is for Goku. Because if all it takes to be "unlimited" is to combine a limite in power character with other limited in power versions, then the same is to apply to Goku.

Well, no, if you listened to what goku said: “finally” this was goku excited that he was going to get to fight Clark at his absolute best aka the golden form (note, I’m talking about the current Superman undergoing the same procedure to turn gold as opposed to the original Superman prime one million who’s actually not that impressive) and you KNOW goku would let him reach his absolute full power, too.

Ultra instinct is weird because you have the anime version and then you have what is done in the manga right now. Of course he would let him charge up to max power, but he doesn’t have the stamina to hang with Superman when he’s in that power. He would have to be able to use ultra instinct in his bace form and make it like Wiz and Maris recommended he do it. So where he can tap into the mastered form at will and use it in his base form constantly.

Goku used the zenkai too. He trained his body to near death then ate a senzu. The training was way too harsh for his body. The only reason he survived was due to the senzu beans. His body was shown being unable to move on his way to namek. One time he barely was able to make it to the senzu beans. He couldn't even move his limbs. So he used the intense gravity with a combination of the zenkai.
So didn't Yamcha heal an entire whole in his chest after Dr.Gero ran his hand through him with a senzu bean? So why are you saying the only time it was hinted at growing organic tissue was in a manga script?

@@mysterC58Man the surfer is really good but he getting Folded. Superman is just way too overpowered. If he can tank omega beams from Darkseid, he has no problem dealing with Norrin energy absorbing attacks. And he should be as fast as him as well. They both travel so fast they can casually go back in time.
