Every writer for the Superman has made him accomplish insane feats that it would probably need Goku to achieve Sun Wukong level to actually beat him. The concept of vs battles often discards *intent* of the author and replace storytelling with real world physics to try and create outcomes, which is well and good but by that point is it really even the same character anymore? If you're plugging them into a context they weren't created with in mind and binding them to it. Feats in stories aren't usually mean to be a completely objective measuring stick, but more to convey an idea of ability and scale. It wasn't until relatively recently you started getting authors specifically creating characters to win vs battles and frankly I think that's pretty sad.

I think the one main thing that is completely overlooked, is stamina between Superman and Goku. Superman gets tired quickly IF he amps up his eye beams vs Goku, lets be real, Goku will be tired waaay before Superman. So, in other words, Superman would've won or eventually win regardless. Goku can't travel at the speed of infinity, Goku can't time travel, Goku can't resist being atomized, Goku has been killed by FAR lesser attacks than what it takes to kill Superman. I say all of this as someone who hates Superman, but the unfortunate truth is that Goku wouldn't be able to defeat this version of Superman. He'd fight hard, but ultimately nothing he can do would significantly affect Superman.

Superman is written into his stories to be the good guy with any levels of power to confront any level of conflict which basically has a baseline of multiverse levels of power because comic writers had to use the concept of a multiverse as plot devices in order to write themselves out of corners to change direction to popular demand, allow different companies to retcon stories after switching of copyrights and authors being changed. Dragon ball is an at least semi cohesive story that needs to retain a linear growth of power for confronting stronger enemies while allowing room for growth of the main character to confront future threats. It's comparing a fan fic ridden series characterized by willingness to break continuities (yet all the while the authors want to insist it is a single story because they don't want to give up past story points to go back to for endless milking) to a story that has retcons that can be counted on one hand. Of course the prior is going to have greater feats because there is no expectation that past events have future consequences so they can just be as ridiculous as whatever author writing at the time can imagine, whereas Toriyama is the singular author and has to actually pace his story while the only non cannon story, super heros, barely exists in terms of content compared to the main series.

The concept of vs battles often discards *intent* of the author and replace storytelling with real world physics to try and create outcomes, which is well and good but by that point is it really even the same character anymore? If you're plugging them into a context they weren't created with in mind and binding them to it. Feats in stories aren't usually mean to be a completely objective measuring stick, but more to convey an idea of ability and scale. It wasn't until relatively recently you started getting authors specifically creating characters to win vs battles and frankly I think that's pretty sad.

There's no character in the DBZ universe that Superman wouldn't be able to defeat, and there's no feat of Goku's that would be impossible for him either. Goku can't travel at the speed of infinity, Goku can't time travel, Goku can't resist being atomized, Goku has been killed by FAR lesser attacks than what it takes to kill Superman.

I think powerscaling with superman kinda misses the point like. Yes superman wins, but that's because the best superman isn't meant to be that type of story really. It's more about him being really wholesome. He's basically tedlasso with a cape.

Superman is written into his stories to be the good guy with any levels of power to confront any level of conflict which basically has a baseline of multiverse levels of power because comic writers had to use the concept of a multiverse as plot devices in order to write themselves out of corners to change direction to popular demand, allow different companies to retcon stories after switching of copyrights and authors being changed. Dragon ball is an at least semi cohesive story that needs to retain a linear growth of power for confronting stronger enemies while allowing room for growth of the main character to confront future threats. It's comparing a fan fic ridden series characterized by willingness to break continuities (yet all the while the authors want to insist it is a single story because they don't want to give up past story points to go back to for endless milking) to a story that has retcons that can be counted on one hand. Of course the prior is going to have greater feats because there is no expectation that past events have future consequences so they can just be as ridiculous as whatever author writing at the time can imagine, whereas Toriyama is the singular author and has to actually pace his story while the only non cannon story, super heros, barely exists in terms of content compared to the main series.
