I loved it . Will go back again one day. I loved Taipei , especially eating skewers and nightmarket food . Visiting Yilan for an epic night of shrimp fishing ahha . Best Club for young college foreigners and Taiwan students is “Triangle” club/bar in Maji Square . On the redline , get off at Yuanshan . Super close . Haha they close at 4am and 3 bottles plus a plethora of shots all for $200 USD split between a couple of us haha

By the way, if you feel like learning something, "the west" is not some homogeneous entity where everyone thinks and acts the same - how could it be when we are always accepting non-westerners to live with us for the past hundreds of years? Lastly...you're not going to like the next guy as much as us. Whenever "the west" loses power, the next guy is going to be a lot worse than we ever were, but I don't expect uneducated people to realize that until it's too late. As for Taiwan, I support it 100%.

      瑞典欢迎你 only a very small fraction gets picked up, so it’s BS. You don’t need to share garbage articles, go do a clean up once and you’ll see. At 100nt a lantern, they’re too cheap and too many take flight daily

    • @skylinetouring
      @skylinetouring 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luke Smith, right on, the Taiwanese believe this “myth” that there are magical cleaners who get paid barely anything to go deep into the mountains and carry out rusty wire frames. In reality it’s the combined effort of locals and expats, volunteers from around the island, when they do clean up “hikes” in full gear. So you’re absolutely right, it’s super easy to spot them hanging on trees and in the valleys, imagine the ones which are blown further adrift.

      The sky lanterns is characteristic culture of the region .you can't ban nonsense !!
      In addition to TAIWAN Pingxi sky lanterns.The Chiang Mai Thailand also has a culture of sky lanterns.
      You must respect the culture of other countries.
      Do you understand what I said ?

    • @skylinetouring
      @skylinetouring 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      曹崇勳 so throwing garbage and not cleaning it up just so a shop can make 100-150nt is culture, got it. The Pingxi sky lanterns were only recently adopted, relaunched by the municipality in the 90’s, so it’s not technically local culture. In the past, they only used sky lanterns for specific emergencies, not entertainment, so did you do your homework? Have you spoken to the aboriginal tribes that used to live in the region or do you think this area was just Han territory? Even better, are you one of those who thinks Taiwan has just one race and one culture?

    The Tainan travel tour. A good video, but you completely missed Taipei, the capital, Taichung, Hualien and many other places. It is not a fair title, but a very informative video on Tainan nonetheless.

      Not a very smart thing to be advocating for, if Taiwan declares independence a naval war could be waged between Mainland China and the USA and Taiwan would be devastated, though I agree with you, currently the Status Quo must be maintained or Taiwan could be invaded.

    Just like Taiwan, Hong Kong also attracted a lot of tourists in the past, but there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong recently. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Guangzhou (cities in Guangdong province) and Shanghai. There is a high-speed railway. Tourists can travel from Hong Kong International Airport to Kowloon Station by Airport Express (this is a fast train but not the high-speed railway the media refers to), and then walk along a covered footbridge with good signage to the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, which is the high-speed railway station. There are always sufficient seats on high-speed railway trains, so there is no need to reserve in advance.

    Taiwan is ideally what China could’ve been had 1949 didn’t happen. It’s much cleaner and fewer than the mainland. I’ve visited the mainland already, but now I want to visit Taiwan now.
