China actually has 200 ethnic groups, of which only 56 are official and the the majority of the remainder have been lumped together as the 'Han'. They speak 300 languages (and hundreds more dialects) as a hint to the unseen diversity, and the country's diversity index is actually higher than the US. You'll notice the change of look among the people as you move around the country. Another funny fact, in US we have Chinatowns, in China every city has Muslim-towns, made up of Hui and Xinjiangers.
What an amazing trip for these American students. Hopefully it opens their eyes not only to China but anywhere in the world. Being Chinese myself, I've never been to any of the sites they visited, I'm so envious.

So Taichi is different from kongfu. And now, people in China loves to dance in the square. In China we call it “广场舞”（guang chang wu). Excuse for my poor English. And China welcomes you.
