      WOW! i was waiting to see the price of the sheet, Thanks a lot! its very difficult to price crafting products, its so new to some people and they dont seem to understand that we dont have a big ol' printer where we press a button and a customised tshirt shoots out..blood sweat and tears goes into this business, thanks for helping me as well to justify to myself! how much to charge. God bless you

    Oh my gosh, Kelly - thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. There is just not enough words to describe how appreciative I am for your time and effort in drawing up this spreadsheet and especially your willingness to share this with all of us (for free). Hi Kelly, thanks so much for the calculator, makes our lives a whole lot easier 🙂... quick one, how does this take into account the cost of wear and tear. Have an order where the materials are being supplied, but its 120 largish print and cut items so quite a bit of wear and tear on blades, mats, ink etc - is the wear and tear factored into the markup on raw materials?

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The cost of wear and tear is very minimal. I worked it out to be around R0.50 a project (super tiny!) obviously project differ in size and complexity and quantity, but for your average few sticker order its very small. I would suggest putting about a certain % of every order value aside for consumables like blades mats and a new machine one day if needed!

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are so welcome! You can add a mug in the bottom section of the doc, as you would a tshirt or anything else, and to charge for the print - work out the cost of your ink, add in a small percentage for your printer (to replace one day when it gets old), and work out how many pages you can print with your ink. Divide that by the cost - and you have your price per page!

I need to quote someone on sandblasted (VTR101) vinyl and it costs 200.00/m and it is 1220mm wide. Tia

    Question....why is it worked out on specifically 600 square cm? Does it have something to do with buying per A4 sheet?

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Celeste, yes that is correct. Like I mentioned in the video (if memory serves), if you need to buy small pieces of vinyl it is important to keep that in mind when working out costs, as smaller quantities are usually more expensive per square cm.

    What money unit do you use where you live and the equivalent maybe in dollars would be great.
    Ok I looked it up. 50 Rand is $2.73 USD (today). I found you were in South Africa. Just leaving this here for more US folks.

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  ปีที่แล้ว

      hi Brandy! It doesnt matter which area you live in, you can just change the currency display - so just change it from R to $ - and then use only $ amounts! No need for conversions :)

    Hi Kelly, so I'm trying work prices out. but I noticed that your sqm and multiplier ends on line 17 (also on the template)... is there a reason for this? Or do I need to drag down the formula so it fills the rest of the lines? Like the part where you show the sublimation print, does that not need to have the sqm and multiplier? I'm so confused!! I'm trying to work out a price for a shadow box, and it seems super expensive, don't know if I'm doing it right, lol

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Janine, thats because those items are based on quantity, and not square meterage, so the formula is different :)

    • @Hipknotic_Designs
      @Hipknotic_Designs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, is there somewhere I can contact you to get better understanding pls? Cos I'm not sure how vinyl and sublimation prints differ from quantity or sqm.
