Bought it on my laptop (thanks so much to you and your hubby for making this). I’m wondering if it is able to be used offline? I go camping every weekend (seasonal site) and work on my crochet there. Being able to do the pricing there instead of back at home with two grandkids up my butt would be awesome lol.
Do you have to enter each product sold individually for the craft show? Does the spreadsheet compile a total sold at the show? Do you have a way to separate out all aspects for tax purposes end of year?
Okay…something for everyone to keep in mind is product prices change from place to place so looking on Etsy for competitors might not be a good idea. I am in Canada so if I’m looking up prices I have to make sure I am look for local products AND things sold on the other side on Canada would sell for a totally different price than here. I am sure that is the same in the U.S. Something sold in Kansas City will sell at a different price than say New York. Food for thought. PS: Love your channel🥰
Totally, great point! You can definitely keep that in mind when looking for competitors and I believe you can even filter by region on Etsy as well! :) So glad you love the channel!:)
thank you so much for putting this together. I'm starting out selling plants, and I was so nervous about my pricing. This allows me to confidently price my products and makes me feel like I'm being fair to myself and my customers. I can't thank you enough.
Thank you so much for the kind words! ❤️ I’m glad I and the Calculator are able to help you become more confident (as you should be!) in selling your plants! As you continue to grow your business and as you encounter future hurdles, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or advice! ❤️☺️😁
OMG. I just purchased and used my pricing calculator. It’s sooo easy and user friendly. I love it. Thank you Camryn. You’re the BEST!!!! I recommend it highly ❤️
Oh my God!! So many informations that I didn't even think about!!! 🤩🤩🤩I am so happy and feel blessed that I met you even if it's only via internet!! 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for these beautiful videos and for the imformations that you shared with us!! Keep going girl!! You are doing amazing work!!
I just came across your channel and I love this idea you've created, I just made my Pricing Calculator purchase and I haven't even created all the products I want to start selling yet. I feel this tool will make my future business secure, and organized
Just purchased this and I love it! I am a "math girl" and so I tried making my own calculator, but struggled to make sure I was including all the costs that I needed to take into consideration as well as keep detailed notes on my projects and suppliers. This calculator also helped me realize that selling on Etsy isn't *actually* more expensive than selling at a market! We also need to consider our time, transportation costs, and booth fees. I've realized that I need to price on Etsy and at markets very similarly--all thanks to this calculator! Thank you for creating this--it's definitely helped me gain confidence that I will be charging customers appropriately and that I'm not taking any losses in my business! :)
Wow thank you so much I am currently working on starting my handmade business 😊 I did one market so far and I did mark myself down, mostly because I was worried i was charging too much. It was great though but I was trying to figure out my prices and you popped up. It's such a simple and easy calculator to follow and give me way more time to craft without sitting there overthinking
I'm so glad your enjoying it! I'll make sure my husband hears, too, because he spent a lot of time working on it as well! Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or issues with it! 😁😊
Omg it is Friday! Hahaha I was like Camryn dropped early?! Haha I’ll get it together soon! 😂😂 excited for this video! Girl this calculator is amazing!! It’s actually getting questions going for the webinar tonight. This is amazing! Thank you to you and Peyton!
Thank you sooo much for the calculator and actually show how to use it. Im gonna purchase it asap. But i do have question. If i purchase my materials online, do i need to include the shipping fees (in the materials cost section i mean) or i can put the shipping fees of materials in the other cost section ?
Thank you Camryn for your details explaination! It's really help me to price my products 🥰 btw, can you share how to price for custom made order that are not on our product list? Do we need to make the whole sample first to know how much yarn & time to make the custom order? I think that would be so helpful to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you! ☺️
Hey! For more unique custom orders, I think there are three core components to look at for pricing: the materials cost, how much time it took, and how much you want to charge for time. If it's a custom order that took 4 hours, and you want to make sure you're making at least $15 an hour for it to be worth it to you, then you would multiple those two to get $60. Then, you add whatever the materials cost you (let's say $10). So, in this example you would charge $70 to cover your bases and make sure you're getting paid fairly as a base! If you want a more specific conversation with specific details of something, send me an email!! ❤️❤️😁😊
Hi! I recently subscribed to your channel and watched several videos! Do you need to copy/paste the tab to calculate for each product you sell? Any advice for unique things like paintings or crafts that will all be individual and use different amounts or types of materials?
I love this, it’s such a great idea.❤ I just purchased your calculator and I can’t wait to try it out. I use fabric and was wondering in the material cost under item size can I use it as per meter or do I have to weigh my fabric?
Hi Camryn…just found your channel and LOVE this pricing calculator for my crochet projects. Also loved watching you at one of your latest market with all the little chicks…so cute!! Will be purchasing this pricing calculator for sure. Thanks and love your energy! 🙌🧶💜 I went to purchase and the website must be down bc I got an error message. Do you know when it will be up & running?
Hey! I'm so glad you're loving everything! The website is up now! I apologize it was down for a couple days there, we weren't entirely sure what happened. If you purchase the Calculator and have any questions, don't hesitate to send an email or DM asking questions! 😁😊
I bought it and so far I'm loving it! I don't see a "save" button like I'm used to in things like Microsoft Excel. Am I missing something? I lost a whole bunch of things I had done after I closed it when I was done.
Looks amazing and very useful. Thank you😊 Question, Does the data from calculator tab automatically go onto the product log sheet? Some of the headings are the exact same, but it appears you had to manually enter on the product tab sheet, even with the info already entered onto the calculator tab.
Hi! Yes you will need to manually copy and paste those over to the product log since the calculator will need to be cleared out and used again for other items!❤️
Hi, I came across your pricing sheet and I’m wondering if this works for vinyls as I’m working on tumblers and tote bags. Instead of grams can I convert it to inches to measure the vinyl sheet used for each products? How does it work then?
Hi there! You can download the document which will download as an Excel version! Some of the formatting is changed, but the functionality remains the same!
Question about weighing your project. How do you weigh something when you have to stuff one part, then continue to crochet it? I can see it for the little things, but a larger items, im not sure how it will work. Please help!!
So I work with fabric and vinyl. Those items are purchased by the half yard, yard, etc. is there a way that I can change the oz to yardage, 1/4 yard, etc?
Hey there! I'm assuming you're talking about the "Quantity Needed" parts of the tables, but this should be applicable to any instance you are using measurements! We purposefully left out any direct measurement units from the Calculator to ensure as much flexibility as possible. You are entirely able to consider "Quantity Needed" in terms of length, rather than weight! It is just important you know what is being measured when the equation totals it! For example, if you bought 2 yards at $10 and only used .5 yards worth, the total material costs for that equation would be $2.50. That is the same in function as saying I bought 2 oz of yarn at $10 and only used .5 oz. So, it should all work the same! Please feel free to email me if you have more questions :)
hello, I dont know if I missed the answer to my question but when inputting the price of the ingredient do I use the price of the small quantity I purchased to make the sample batches or do I use the price that I would purchase to make a scaled up batch? Also do I include the shipping costs in the price of the ingredient when I input it into the spreadsheet. Thank you.
Hmmm, it really depends on how different those two prices are! It also depends on what source they are coming from! If from a fair, then that price, and vice versa. If neither, then I would choose a price that covers both your time and materials at the minimum!
Do I make a copy of the spreadsheet for every product I have or do I use the same spreadsheet for every product? Do I delete the competitor research of one product and replace it with info for another product? cuz I'm not sure if i was to copy the competitor research and pricing tabs, that the linking between them would work
You can make a copy of the entire spreadsheet each time to price new items that way the links will stay from those pages! Or you can delete info and replace with new prices each time you price! Totally up to you:)
Without watching the whole video im gonna ask whether the calculator has the facility to convert dollars to other currencies. Im from india and we use rupees. Ok now l watch the video 😂 Ok i just went and read the description. We can use any currencies! Yay!
If we got it for free when you 1st launched it will it still work or will we have to pay now. Also can you do a spreadsheet to show us how to do sku and inventory. How do we copy the calculator
Hi, i make beaded jewellery with findings like headpins, etc, would your calculator work for me?, and can i convert it to UK currency Pounds & Pence. Kind Regards🤗
Having trouble figuring out how to save any information typed into the sheet. I see on your screen there is file etc on top but mine does not have all that when I open it and I cannot figure out how to get that on there to save.
Hi! I see many of people talking about how to calculate your price, but no one talks about taxes, why? As a business, don't you need to declare what money you're making and pay VAT? I'm not in the US, maybe that's different... But where I live when owning a business there are taxes (like social contributions, I'm not talking about income tax) For example, when you're employee, if you're making 1000$ a month, your boss spends about 2000$ because he pays taxes. When you're your own boss, you kinda pay some similar taxes! When I calculate my prices with taxes, only one third goes to me, because there's 25% VAT, and then other taxes. If I really didn't want to lose money, I should price my products about 3 times what you calculated 🤷♀
Hey there! Yes, the tax system of my location is very different from yours! What I advocate for is for everyone to always calculate taxes into your prices to ensure you're still making a profit! With tax systems looking so different in different parts of the world, this may mean people have to really develop their own pricing system that works best for them! I 'd be happy to discuss more specifics with you if you'd like to talk about pricing within the limitations of your own tax system! If so, please send me an email!
I purchased this app. How do I calculate for more than one finished product? Is it for one item and restart the new product in the different spreadsheet? If so, how do I do that? Thanks!
Hey! Yes, the Calculator Sheet is intended to be used for one product at a time, giving a detailed breakdown of all cost components! To restart, you could delete all the cells you've typed in. Or, if you'd like to keep that information, you could "Make a Copy" of it by selecting that option under "File." You could then start fresh on that new copy! 😁😊
Hi Lisa! Did you purchase the calculator? The PDF guide included has some examples of what to write in! If you have any other questions please feel free to send me an email camrynscutecreations@gmail.com I'm here to help! :)
Quick, question, I don't know what grams is. How do you know how many grams you used in the yarn? Most of the patterns say, yards. Can I convert grams to yards?
Yes, the initial sale has ended now! I usually offer new products at a discounted price for the first day or so! I make sure to let everyone know ahead of time so that you can grab it right when it launches! 😊😁
Hey! So the Calculator is designed to fully break down the costs of one product at a time so you know exactly what's going into the final price. Once you have that price, you have many options on how to save that information. Many people simply note the final price and keep that on a pricing sheet elsewhere. Others save the entire Calculator sheet and put it in a folder so they can access the full detailed breakdown later (and possibly make edits later) and then simply create a new blank Calculator sheet for a new product. However, you are free to note down as much information you want. I recommend you start a document somewhere where you keep all your prices, possibly leaving spaces for basic information like "Time Spent" and "Material Costs". Let me know if this helps! 😁😁
$15/hour is minimum wage in some locales. You cannot live on $15/hour. At $15/ hour, you are a hobbyist. At $20/hour, you may still be a hobbyist. 100 items sold at a one day (likely less than six hours sales time) show? Nice for you, but highly unlikely for 99% of craft show sellers. Props for nitpicking the costs of making yarny items, tho.
Any questions on The Pricing Calculator? :) I’m here to help! Drop them here!💖⬇️

how do you save the product you have just priced?
