Magnum PI was an awesome show. Tom Selleck was a beautiful man in his day. I grew up on the show and have the DVD collection. It was a campy but fun show to watch. John Hillerman was the best part of the show. Love Higgins....
My favourite Higgins moment was an episode where Higgins had a Japanese ceremonial dagger. The show ends with him taking out the dagger and Magnum says "you know that your ceremonial dagger by tradition once taken out has to draw blood?" Higgins smiles and says evilly "I know!" and runs after Magnum and Rick.

So glad I was an 80s kid. Awesome TV show theme songs, “playing outside,” Star Wars action figures, hair metal and hot hair metal video girls, the fall of the Soviet Union, and especially... no fucking social media. Those were some great times. So good luck kids of today. You’re gonna need it.
Well, you can pretend you live in the 80's; wear those clothes, watch that 80's televison shows, listen to that music.......comes pretty close hey :-) I do it daily and I don care for 2021!
straight outta Toronto actually it was a 308 GTS in the intro, then later a 308 GTSi was the basic car in the series. The series never did have tthe 328, which was introduced in 1985. Both the 308 and the 328 share the same base body designs, but each a different front bumper, the 308 a black front bumper, the 328 a red front bumper with recessive front headlights.
Shadmock 1969 yes, the license plate was '56E-478' in the two-parter pilot movie, then changed to ROBIN 1 in the third and first regular season episode of 'China Doll', which thereafter will remain for the rest of the duration in the series. Though, the original license plate will remain to be seen on every intro opening of the show itself, as Magnum peels out in a controlled slide in the Ferrari. There was once an explanation what the numbers and one letter meant, but that answer could not be found.
Shadmock 1969 I am born and raised in Hawaii, bradda... Grew up on watching the show as a young kid, had the good privilege to watch the production filming on location here on O'ahu... Even had a chance at casting call for a part in the final season show. Alas, my debut never made it past the cutting floor room, as another extra was favored over me because he was more 'thuggish' looking... Auwe!
Shadmock 1969 are you quizzing me? To see if I am a hardcore Magnum Pi fan? I didn't ask for this, I just have general knowledge I believe every fan has of the show... Truthfully, by the top of my head, I can guess 2 cast member stands out I can recall: first, that be Higgins, in an episode that had to do with a deaf woman who was being hunted down by killer thugs who found out she was a witness to their bank robbery. Second, the nephew of Robin Masters, who wants to be a Pi, so he somewhat dresses like Magnum, drives a green GTS QV, then taking on Thomas' 'gig' as him. As an addition, another episode that has a cast member trying to pass off as Magnum, is Rick driving the Ferrari, but as a decoy to distract the Feds to give Thomas time to rescue a ballerina and TC from an aggressive foreign agency... Ok, that's all I can remember... For now.
Back when shows were great to watch, had you tuning in every week. Shows like Magnum PI, Knight Rider, The A Team, Hawaii Five 0, The Twilight Zone, Mission Impossible, the list goes on and on. Not only were they great shows but they had great theme songs for them. That will play in your head all day when you hear them.
Classic show, not graphic, don't need to see everybody get killed, blood everywhere, each character in this show contributed alot always interesting plot,no over the top BS,no dead weight characters, just episodes that kept you glued to your seat!!!
Well i never saw this show, but we have a choppa diving overflying the sea, tom selleck loading a gun, a car exploding... All while a badass funky guitar riff plays in background, so it was probably epic.

The new version will never be able to live up to Tom Selleck’s excellence and moustache ❤️
Modern Magnum PI mustache is like a puberty mustache...1980s Magnum PI is a MANLY mustache
Ironically, the new one doesn't have one... Oh and he's Mexican, by blood, and his Mom's name is ISIS :O What a shit show :D Love Mexicans, and i'm not American, thank fuck for that! :) Just figured i would nail that to a wall... Oh shit, no pun intended ;)
@@Sryzo how would you know? You didn’t grow up with the old...
@@T.R.R.Jolkien I barely remember the original episodes. I watched it when I was a kid. However, I don't like the new one; way different than the original and worse
This is the most 80’s intro i have ever seen
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Obviously you didn't grow up in the eighties. Have you seen the A Team intro??
WarriorPhilosopher1 Or Airwolf
Miami Vice intro!
Or Duke's of Hazard intro
So glad I was an 80s kid. Awesome TV show theme songs, “playing outside,” Star Wars action figures, hair metal and hot hair metal video girls, the fall of the Soviet Union, and especially... no fucking social media. Those were some great times. So good luck kids of today. You’re gonna need it.
Well said!
i am 51 and i wish i could go back to the time of this magnificent show...so much better than the rubbish of nowadays.
In high school 1980 to 1984....Don't know what you got till it is very far away and you cannot have it back.
Only in your memories and not really in reality......
Stop idealizing the past or your younger years. Open up to being happy NOW.
@@jeanlundi2141 Have a nice day!
Awesome era ...the 80’s were so fabulously awesome
I grew up wishing I could hang out with Magnum and live his lifestyle. I still do.
Well, you can pretend you live in the 80's; wear those clothes, watch that 80's televison shows, listen to that music.......comes pretty close hey :-) I do it daily and I don care for 2021!
I gained a mustache and got a Hawaiian shirt at the ready!
Its badass time!
One of the best opening tunes to a tv show!❤
Yeah perhaps but what about "The Fall Guy" Intro though Bro? That was a TOP show!
Apologies I must go before before I start to rhyme 😂❤ love to all
Peter Gunn, Hawaii Five-0, Airwolf. It’s hard to pick a favorite.
Profesión danger
Rest in peace Roger Mosley / TC 🙏
Just watched this intro with my pet tiger, now we both have mustaches. Damn you 80s!!!!
Holy shit, I suddenly have a full grown moustache after watching this.
gutz1981 and my nan!
gutz1981 try growing up as well
my detroit tigers cap fused to my scalp permanently after I listened to this while wearing it
gutz1981 cool
gutz1981 I grew one out of protest to the nee Mgnum not having one. Balony
Classic Selleck signature at the end with the double brow raise. He really was one cool dude. Love this theme and music. Fun show.
I also loved Magnum's head-drop when he realized that things had gotten out of his control.
As a kid my favorite part of this intro was when magnum peels out in that red ferrari 328 gt..and it still is.
straight outta Toronto actually it was a 308 GTS in the intro, then later a 308 GTSi was the basic car in the series.
For now.
We used to call a Magnum.
Mike Post. The godfather of themesongs.
Even the lead guitar in this intro has a moustache!
Back when shows were great to watch, had you tuning in every week. Shows like Magnum PI, Knight Rider, The A Team, Hawaii Five 0, The Twilight Zone, Mission Impossible, the list goes on and on. Not only were they great shows but they had great theme songs for them. That will play in your head all day when you hear them.
dont forget mash and allo allo
MacGyver,Airwolf,Knight Rider,Starman
get off my lawn, you kids!
oh hell yeah, I so miss every show like this and A-team and knight rider it was the best shows ever

As a kid I idolised Magnum, the whole Ferrari scene and his moustache ha ha. Long live the 80s shows.
Back to these golden days
Classic show, not graphic, don't need to see everybody get killed, blood everywhere, each character in this show contributed alot always interesting plot,no over the top BS,no dead weight characters, just episodes that kept you glued to your seat!!!
I just waited for the occasional, "I know what you're thinking...and you're right.....!"
Purée mais comment a-t-on fait pour régresser autant.. la simplicité de l'époque faisait tout son charme

A timeless TV series and theme song! Tom Selleck IS Magnum P.I.! This show is awesome!
😍
I will forever be grateful that my dad introduced me to this show
1980s was the best decade for TV, movies, and music.
80S! GOD I MISS IT

My first crush! I love the look he gives the camera when he's in the Ferrari! Oh my word! 😸❤❤❤
The original MAGNUM P.I TV series is the best ever ! The modern version sucks ; where are Tom Selleck and Higgins nowadays !?!!!!
This should be the intro to every television show and movie made, regardless of whether or not they are about Magnum.
Well said , 100% agree
RIP Higgy Baby
Magnum: the women wanted to be with him, and the guys wanted to be him.
Now women want to be him and men want to be with him, ahhhhhhhhhhh………

34 years old. Kind of sad but I've watched the entire series, 8 seasons, 162 episodes, 6 times now. Best show ever. A different time.
What a guy.

Magnum PI and Miami Vice - my 2 most favorite opening themes! BUT - Don Johnson is the LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!
The 80's was the best in TV ! Take us back
Well i never saw this show, but we have a choppa diving overflying the sea, tom selleck loading a gun, a car exploding... All while a badass funky guitar riff plays in background, so it was probably epic.
It was. Dunno how well it holds up today, but if you were male and grew up through the 80's, this series is iconic.
I loved this show. Couldn't miss a episode. The 80's was good. My son was born! I love the end when he raises his eyebrows!!
That bit at 0:17 when he looks straight at the camera always made my heart skip a beat. I've just watched it again and it had exactly the same effect. I'm 55 now!
So sad to learn that Roger E. Mosley is gone. Magnum PI was part of my childhood and so was he. Roger was also good in McQ with John Wayne and Unlawful Entry with Ray Liotta.
Thank you so much sir for sharing your talent with us and may you rest in heaven.
Deepest thoughts and prayers to your loved ones.

Ray’s gone now too 😢
I Love Tom Selleck for all Time, the True Magnum !

Hell of a show. Man, I miss those old school TV shows. Watching these shows was just as good as playing outside with all of the neighborhood kids. 😎
the 308 GTS is still such a masterpiece
there has never been and there will never be a greater theme song, its flawless
loved this show, got hooked on it after a few seasons, greatly miss John Hillerman and Roger Mosley, it was the last TV show I watched on a regular basis, can't stand what is on TV now
RIP John Hillerman (aka Higgins)
Hillerman had a strong Texan accent. He learnt to speak like Higgins from watching Laurence Oliver videos!

I lived in Honolulu from 1986 to the summer of 1989. One afternoon I was at a crosswalk downtown waiting for the light and Tom Selleck and his double pulled up to the red light in the Ferrari. Pretty wild.
Used to love this show. Always got the impression that the actors had a lot of fun making it too.
