The brilliance of Coronation Street here was the superb acting and chemistry between the cast. Roy Barraclough, Bryan Mosley, Lynne Perrie, Geoff Hinsliff and the rest of the cast were absolutely top-notch!
Thank you so much for all these episodes of a time long gone by. Back then I moved back to Germany, and I could not follow the series any longer. Now, finally, I found the series on your channel, and I’ve reached the age of Alf Roberts back then. As a woman of 56 all I can say is, that Alf Roberts, RIP, he was probably the most perfect man in the entire series. And just like in real life, he had the most ungrateful wife in the series that a decent man could possibly have. Well, he has now already passed into a better world. 🕊️
Its very nice in this day & age to still see & shop in a corner shop! In the village i live in, our corner shop is a godsend & the hub of the community We do have a pretty large supermarket on the outskirts but our little shop provides for all our needs. Ive found many items cheaper than the big shops, plus i buy what ive gone for & arent tempted by the huge supermarkets who have impulse buys everywhere! Our corner shop has everything & like Alfs shop, modernised a few years back & expanded with more shelves & goods Its run by an Indian family who open early & close late! They have lived in our community for decades & they deliver to the elderly & infirm, free of charge & will even brew up a cuppa for the elderly customer upon delivery! Its a place to meet, our shopkeepers family listen to our woes & are an shoulder to "cry" on. Nice to see the writers on top form. Maybe need to use fresh parsnips Mavis, for quicker results? I, get the feeling Mrs Ingram cannot sack Ivy, just for what she said and Mr Baldwin would want Ivy working back at Ingram's, at least to avoid a tribunal for wrongful dismissal? Ivy bleating about being sacked for slagging off the boss is priceless.😂 What mother in their right mind would allow their teenage son to live with a married strumpet? 4:31 Yorkshire ripper on day release to enjoy a pint. Imagine how much happier Mavis would be if she never confided anything ever to that snake she works with.
Alf Roberts was so belligerent, he had the temper of a toddler. Why on earth did swish Audrey put up with him? Money and security, I suppose, that's why she married him in the first place, as they were hardly compatible. Vivian Barford: the future Betty Eagleton of Emmerdale.
Alf is getting worse with his miserly attitude. But Audrey is always running him down for his weight, and seems to just want his money and community status for herself. He was so well suited to Renee, and I've always thought it a real shame the writers killed her off because they considered their marriage too humdrum.
I don’t think ivy’s commupence in these storylines was coincidental she is clearly drunk in her acting here I truly think the writers started making the audience dislike her on purpose - lynne perrie was by all accounts the opposite in character to ivy - so I would say she was truly a great actress !

I’ve watched from 1985 to now. And current ones too. I love it
I'm so obsessed with this show. THANK YOU(again and again and again)! You're a star xx
This is so much better than the current day stuff .
And thank you for uploading👍
No wonder Alf had hypertension, the ridiculous way he blows up over next to nothing!! He puts Percy in the shade 😎
Only Mavis and Derek could have their lives turned upside down by parsnips.
There's never a dull moment with dramatic Vera around, she's so much fun
Amazing to see one side of the street cope without water so well considering today if the internet is down for more than 10 mins we loose our minds🤣❤x
You're so right. I remember the drought of 1976, getting water from stand pipes and it went on for weeks.

98p for a pint in 1991, 2021 average UK price is £3.69, so around a £1 price increase per decade, sounds less bad like that I suppose ;-).
