18 months ago I started watching Coronation Street from 1976 onwards. I ripped through month after month and year after year until 1999. I had not seen any episodes prior to 1976. I continued to save the 2023 episodes but was given great comfort and happiness from the nostalgia of my childhood years. I have also kept 2024 episodes but cannot make it out of January 2023. It’s not going to be possible. Thank you to the kindness of people who take the time and effort to provide so much happiness in these dystopian times. Now, I am revelling in the 1960s thanks to you and a few other crusaders for the cause. Thank you! ❤
I last watched Coronation St, in 2018! I turned off half way thru an episode and haven't watched since. It's no longer real! Thankfully I can recall the old day when whilst living in the UK I was in Granada Studio's daily ( for work ) and met so many of the original cast. Ann Reid, Thelma Barlow, Bernard Youens, Voilet Carson, Betty Williams, Julie Goodyear, Neville Buswell. As a visitor to the UK in recent years I encountered Rob Mallard, Shane Ward. I watched filming for a Christmas episode in the early 60's on the lot behind Granada. Yet strangely despite a 50 year absence from the UK the original episodes, early decades and characters seemed real, recent episodes feel like an alternate reality filmed in a surreal universe without context of reality.
I agree with you ! being from Manchester originaly and born in 1970 i was brought up on corrie ..even into the 80s it still had characters like stan and hilda. vera and jack etc that gave the series a lighter comedic touch! AND TRUE TO LIFE IN A MANCHESTER SUBURB! these days to get ratings is gone the way of eastenders and Emerdale ....not true to life story lines or characters an more of a big story line be it a disaster, murder dtory line that goes on or months etc i stopped watching yrs ago and i was a brought up on corrie and a big fan! ...TBH i dont watch any of the so called soaps these days as they are all the same !
@@dizzydevil547 I stopped watching the soaps years ago, the story lines were getting too far fetched, didn’t enjoy watching them anymore, I much prefer these old episodes with all my favourite characters in, can’t beat Stan and Hilda and her three ducks on her mural 😅 🦆
Exactly coronation street then was really worthy of been called a soap , excellent actors storylines unlike today , dark aggressive and far too much like eastenders depressing and no elderly people Thank God for these episodes to look back on what was a golden era
Coronation Street has never been the same since all the old cast have either passed away or left i used to watch it with my nan.. God bless her.. Jean Alexander was my favourite she always knew everything before everyone else when she was in last of the summer wine she was brilliant in that too
Thank You so much, loved watching. Best scenes for me were Elsie going to bash Hilda with a bottle in The Rovers but restrained by Alan and also Elsie with Annie. The Festival Day was good too.
Thanks very much for uploading these. I've checked the Nuna 2.0 channel but for me the episodes on there are unwatchable: opening titles missing; end credits missing; out of sync and poor picture quality. The quality of the copies you are uploading are far superior, so thanks again for doing this.
They both did a sitcom together Molly sudden and her real life husband william Moore that was called my husband and I. Didn't realy like it much but I loved Thats my boy which she was brilliant in
That outgoing mayoress turned up as Renee"s mother years later which was quite funny because i think in real life Madge Hindle"s mother was a mayoress and Madge was deputy Mayoress - At least i think i have that right
Thanks for this. The Nuna 'versions' have no credits or cast listings. They also have this daft and overlong anime ident thing popping up all the time. Annoying.

Thank you, I'm really glad you're enjoying the old episodes.
My grandma been watching this since episode 1. She’s 94.

Totally agree - we are forced to accept everything now in abundance - gets exhausting!
You did well to stick it out until 2018! I stopper watching it about 2003.

Thanks Maria , glad you liked it.
Brilliant performances. Brilliant writing.
Hey! I live near Manchester CT! Love this series, very happy I've never seen these ones.
"...as far as I'm concerned the whole thing's a complete al fresco." Hilda Ogden, 1973.
Thank you! ..and to add IT IS ON you tube now thanks to you!
Thank you , I know it sounds funny saying NOT ON TH-cam when it obviously is now I've put it on but I'm sure people know what I mean.
Thank you ❤🇬🇧

You're very welcome.
@@vbt1957 Yeah wish the original unzoomed episodes from January to April 1973 were back on TH-cam
Molly Sugden in Corrie? Wow, I had no idea she'd.been in that!
her real life husband was in it too he played betty turpins husband cyril in the 80s he played ronnie corbets dad in sorry

I'm getting quite engrossed in this. Just watched the one where Billy messes up the food order because he's gambled all the money away!
05:47 Where as Stan and Hilda's staircase gone ?
Thankyou ❤
You're welcome 😊
I don't think the needle was meant to stick in Kens neck but they carried on regardless. That's professionalism.
Just as I was reading your comment that particular scene came on lol
Ten years later Billy Walker is still taking phone calls owing money to wronguns
Bet dressed quite demure and normal at this pint in time - I wonder what year the razzle dazzle started
That outgoing mayoress turned up as Renee"s mother years later which was quite funny because i think in real life Madge Hindle"s mother was a mayoress and Madge was deputy Mayoress - At least i think i have that right
Hilda is on the warpath
Just type year in ive found 1st ones
I know everyone revels in Ena Sharples, but I could never warm to her character or the Caldwell woman.

That flying doll is cute .
Soap had great makeup artist working back then ,thru the years it slid downhill I mean those wigs are a hoot especially Annie Walkers 😊
Did billie tell alf to f off at 1.40??
I don't think so.
No - just rewatched it
He said bog off not f off
@@lucywilliamsx1002thanks for clearing that up for me
