Great job on the generator, it is good to know that it is ready to go, when needed

I thought I hit the jackpot for a moment but ya tricked me. I've got the same generator but I'm having issues with it surging. If I choke out a little bit then it'll run ok (no surging). Can you do a walkthrough of your adjustment procedures for both the idling/running and can you do a more detailed voltage/Hz output testing? So basically, instead of briefly telling us what you did could you actually show us (or me 😬) what you did? Meanwhile I'll keep searching the interwebs for clues. Thanks all the same and appreciate ya!

There really isn't a carb adjustment on these. The surging could be a dirty jet in the carb. A new one from Champion is cheep enough to see if that will fix the surging issue. This video was more to the adjustment of the rpm of the engine. Thanks for watching.

When you use an amp/current meter, you only feed one conductor through the meter, not both like you had, they’ll cancel each other out…. One conductor only and the loop is for amps only, not frequency, that requires direct connection.

1st time I had used that meter. I was wondering why the Hz reading was flaky.

@@larrybl yea that would do it. 😉

And the single wire needs to be anywhere 'inside' the clamp for accurate current. Looked like it was being pinched on the tip in the first part of the video.

Awhile back when you got that sleeve hitch and tires from me did I give you a small Stihl branded tachometer? If so that would help with setting the RPM accuretly.

Not a RPM issue, the A/C Hertz was fluxing, it needs to hold steady at 60 HZ. I think I got it sorted out.
