  • Here we have a 4000 watt surge, 3500 watt running Champion generator that won't run. Even though he said that he drained the gas in it. I don't think he did. The carburetor was clogged up. One thing I don't like on these is that the even when you drain the float bowel there is still gas in it that won't come out.
This video was made as a demonstration on how to repair things and should not be done with out the proper training and safety equipment. Please if you don't have the ability to do these demonstrations, don't try and get a professional to do it for you.

Handy to find a video with the exact same model as mine. I’m just cleaning the jets now. But the main brass jet with all the holes like a flute is not blocked. Probably the smaller black plastic one

I have the same generator and I have clean both jets and I can only get it to start on choke then I flip it to run and it will not stay running. It has a new spark plug getting plenty of fire.

I just put a new carb on mine also and I see the governor return spring goes in the little hole the second one on the butterfly. But where does the other end go does it go in the same hole as the link rod or the hole next to it ? on the governor arm. I've looked everywhere online and I've seen it done 2 different ways and I'm wondering if I'm doing it right

You should put it back in the same hole that you took it out of, but I know no one remembers. You should be able to look at the old carb for wear in witch it was in. If not try one hole and if it does not sound right switch to the other hole.

Ya I'm not sure what hole it goes in because the spring I got is new other one was old and fell off
