Titonwan is just another word for Lakota. These were made up of 7 tribes of which the Oglala, Sicangu and Hunkpapa are the best known. Through intermarriage the smaller ones are practically gone.
I agree! What happened to us lowly Hunkpapas, the Oglalas and the Sicangus? What? You don't like us no more? You got something against Hunkpapa Lakota Sitting Bull?
why do yall keep referring to your reservation as your tribe? How can you put this up here with that misleading information? assimilation got you all messed up.
@@sherrykendrick1765 thats called being assimilated. They don't know their history and thats all natives have is their history. Misinformation presented in this video only makes it worse.
We call ourselves who we are in our own language. Tiyošpaye, Oyate. We are nations under one unifying goal. And we don’t care if you call us tribes or indians. Unless you recognize us in Lakota, it really doesn’t matter.
Why is there still an Oglala Tribe on Pine Ridge Res. but no Hunkpapa Tribe on Standing Rock Res.? Confusing. Seems to me the BIA invented new tribes like "Rosebud Tribe Sioux"which never existed before. Why so many Lakotas agree to this white man system? Brainwashed?
Tansi. Very interesting and informative. Enjoyed this video. From a Cree.
