I have literally no idea what is happening on screen. All I know is there is Slayer playing in the background, and every few seconds a demon gets ripped apart.
You kinda get used to it the more you watch Doom Eternal.. But despite watching countless h ooo urs of speed runners since the game's release, good old Shroud is still to erratic for me to keep up. Damn.
@@Joker-nh6dd once you've played through the campaign on UV (Ultra violence) you get an understanding of the game and your mechanical and basic skill increases. I did my first playthrough on UV and couldn't do a single Slayer gate until the last one, now on my nightmare run I'm obliterating them. Once you get a true understanding of how the game works and utilise your speed and the quick swap mechanics everything becomes a lot easier.
Best way to play these games is blind nightmare run, un is just a chore though, same as doom 2016 but on steroids because you should probably avoid slayer's gates and thus not get 100% as easily

Shroud: I don't use the hook on the SSG because it gets me closer to the enemies, therefore it's bad. Me: *Mains the hook and uses to fly kite enemies and makes the Doomguy look like a gymnast*
The meat hook is perfect for catapulting yourself over enemies which will totally throw off their aim and allow you to get some weapon switch combos in.
Honestly, it was kinda bad. I didn't see anything special about his aim, movement kr anything else tbh. He was being really inefficient and was losing a lot of hp and ammo because of it.

He surprised me at the first Slayer Gate, that was pretty good but if you have seen somebody grinding levels for an Ultra-Nightmare playthrough it suddendly doesnt look as fast anymore. Like you have to deal with everything immediateyl (weakpoints, freeze those Snake Demons .. ) It's still great content but, would have loved to see end-game areas, where you need those tactics and react even faster.
Id say Shroud is a more tactical Doomguy. Doomguy would probably focus more on close quarters(Just far enough to shoot a buckshot and flamethrower and close enough to dash in with the chainsaw) and main the Super Shotgun instead of the Heavy Cannon.

This game doesnt get hard on nightmare until around when you run into a marauder as a common enemy. Also the fifth slayer gate is probably one of the hardest things to do on nightmare

Tell me about it. There's a secret encounter in Taras Nabad where you have to kill a marauder in 30 seconds and it actually took me 37 tries. I counted. Insane difficulty. The feeling of satisfaction once you've won is hard to beat though.
It's crazy how many different demons there are now. The spiders, dread knights, those purple guys that teleport, those snake dudes, those idiots that throw a shield in front of you, the flying imps, they did a really good job with the enemy variety and concepts in this.

When it comes to games like this, I always play on the semi easiest difficulty first so it's still kinda challenging so I dont get bored but I can still enjoy the lore, character design, surroundings, and music of the game. Then after I beat it on that easy difficulty, I go back and do another start but on a higher difficulty. It prevents me from raging too much at the game to where I dont enjoy it anymore and I learn how to use the mechanics so I'm not complete shit when I do the higher difficulties.

People talk about dying 50 times, hundred times etc. I die mayve a thousand times in games like this and dark souls. It's like people ate embarrassed to say they die that much (even though in real life i see good players die as much as i do.) Anyway 50 times at hurt me plenty is nothing bad at all. But if you can do that you can handle ultra violence easy (well not easy but you could easily handle it). Yeah, you'll die more but you'll feel like a god, er slayer soon enough. It forces you to use strategy and create a playstyle. It's not about how much you die but how many of them you've killed. Or something like that.

@@poopstink1781 I've seen his gameplay but Eternal is quite different. Plus he knew all the spawn locations of demons in 2016 and Eternal has random spawns. And the weapons are also very different with grenades added into the mix. It will take some time before he masters Eternal in that manner.
Shroud is good at casual FPS games like CSGO. He isn't an FPS god. Plenty of people could wipe the floor with him. Those people are just above the garbage he plays regularly.
I do and a lot of people do depending on the games intensity. Sekiro, Nioh or other games on the hardest difficulty will give you a challenge for sure. For Shroud he's playing a challenge for pve, but since he's competed before for Pvp he's already played against the best so the randoms he usually plays with aren't much of a challenge a lot of the times. It would be like playing on normal or easy, unless it's with another similarly skilled player.

Upgrade for the ssg is great for armor and repositioning. You can see speed runners use the chain well
The hook is essential. You always wanna get up close and personal with the SSG.

Kidde but the game centres on resource management so it’s specifically designed to lower your health, armour and ammo to keep you on your toes.

This game doesnt get hard on nightmare until around when you run into a marauder as a common enemy. Also the fifth slayer gate is probably one of the hardest things to do on nightmare

Tell me about it. There's a secret encounter in Taras Nabad where you have to kill a marauder in 30 seconds and it actually took me 37 tries. I counted. Insane difficulty. The feeling of satisfaction once you've won is hard to beat though.

When it comes to games like this, I always play on the semi easiest difficulty first so it's still kinda challenging so I dont get bored but I can still enjoy the lore, character design, surroundings, and music of the game. Then after I beat it on that easy difficulty, I go back and do another start but on a higher difficulty. It prevents me from raging too much at the game to where I dont enjoy it anymore and I learn how to use the mechanics so I'm not complete shit when I do the higher difficulties.
I just need clockner's doom skills with shroud's headshot accuracy
And Byte Me's speed strats and routing (He's the 100% Ultra Nightmare speedrun world record holder for Doom 2016 and will likely snag the record for eternal once he gets the routing all squared away)

Clockner is an overrated narcissistic wimp and pretty much irrelevant now in the Doom community. Sylar, Zero Master, Oyff, Under the Mayo, hmmmp,etc.. are all better than him.

People talk about dying 50 times, hundred times etc. I die mayve a thousand times in games like this and dark souls. It's like people ate embarrassed to say they die that much (even though in real life i see good players die as much as i do.) Anyway 50 times at hurt me plenty is nothing bad at all. But if you can do that you can handle ultra violence easy (well not easy but you could easily handle it). Yeah, you'll die more but you'll feel like a god, er slayer soon enough. It forces you to use strategy and create a playstyle. It's not about how much you die but how many of them you've killed. Or something like that.

When you can play DOOM to this level as a Counter Strike pro, you have effectively proved that you can play ANY FPS to a high level.

Weapon combos shroud. Should be hot swaping between shotguns for reload cooldowns. Super Shotgun rocket balista deals out a lot of dps. if they are all close then just hit them with both shotties in between each ones shots.

@@poopstink1781 I've seen his gameplay but Eternal is quite different. Plus he knew all the spawn locations of demons in 2016 and Eternal has random spawns. And the weapons are also very different with grenades added into the mix. It will take some time before he masters Eternal in that manner.
Shroud is good at casual FPS games like CSGO. He isn't an FPS god. Plenty of people could wipe the floor with him. Those people are just above the garbage he plays regularly.
Never thought I'd see someone try hard harder in PvE than in PvP.
I do and a lot of people do depending on the games intensity. Sekiro, Nioh or other games on the hardest difficulty will give you a challenge for sure. For Shroud he's playing a challenge for pve, but since he's competed before for Pvp he's already played against the best so the randoms he usually plays with aren't much of a challenge a lot of the times. It would be like playing on normal or easy, unless it's with another similarly skilled player.
