    I picked up my Oneplus 7T earlier today and I absolutely love it. It's a nice upgrade for me considering I've been using the 3T for just over 3 years and that still works really well considering it's age. I'm proud to be a loyal Oneplus customer in the UK 👍

    An iPhone 6s user here who upgraded (?) to OnePlus 7T. I've been an apple fanboy but didn't go for the iPhone 11 because the price difference is pretty high and I thought of giving a high end Android phone a chance. FYI, I also use a MacBook air 2016. Here's my review after using OnePlus 7T and android after 3 weeks. Note - It's a review of the OS and the phone together.
    Pros:
    1. The OS is pretty versatile and you can install loads of apps onto your phone
    2. You can use Bluetooth! It's a boon
    3. The OS can multitask. You can open maps in a small window while watching Netflix or reply to WhatsApp texts while watching your favourite movie
    4. You can search an app or a setting, which is great
    5. Google assistant is smarter
    6. Coming to the phone, the phone feels good in hand and watching videos or movies is a treat
    7. Photos in daytime are of good quality
    8. The phone speakers are great, loud and clear
    9. I love the frosted silver color
    Cons:
    1. Google assistant is too sensitive and opens on its own if a word remotely similar is uttered
    2. The typing experience is not remotely close to ios, ios keyboard does a far better job in autocorrecting texts. I find it immensely difficult to type 5-6 correct words at a stretch
    3. The adaptive screen brightness works weirdly and at times, the screen brightness reduces to minimum even if the room is lit and then you've to manually adjust the brightness
    4. There's a setting to goddamn everything and you need to setup every app to make it work your way
    5. The dark mode doesn't work seamlessly across apps and to be honest, few apps look pretty ugly
    6. Oneplus has advertised the night mode in 7T pretty much but let me tell you, it does a very average job. First, you have to hold your phone as steady as you can but even after that, the photo that it captures has lot of grains and is blurry if you zoom in, which looks very artificial
    7. My iphone 6s used to take sharp photos in motion including post evening light, but the OnePlus camera photos in motion are blurry even during daylight. Photos in motion with low light conditions are very very average
    8. There seems to be loss in photo quality if you take the photo in wide angle mode. So I try to stick to 1x while taking photos
    9. The 90 hz screen in my opinion is overhyped. It does feel great, the icons are sharper and the movie watchinf experience is great, but trust me, you wont be able to make out the difference of the iPhone LCD screen where the Apple hardware does a great job in the hardware and has a good pixel density
    10. Battery drain is pretty fast! I thought OnePlus phones are battery monsters and I was wrong. It sure takes you through the day, but that's it. The only boon is the warp charger which lessens the pain
    11. I really miss the integration with my MacBook air to a great extent and life was so much easier with an iphone. I could receive calls and texts on my MacBook air and could send documents back and forth through airdrop in a jiffy

    • @s-plus
      @s-plus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Setzer K You're obviously ALL about specs. What matters far more for most people is the user experience, and how well the phone will age. OnePlus phones have the best Android skin, they're still fast and smooth even after 3 years, and have the best update policy and speed after Pixel. And on top of that they have great specs as well. All other phones from other brands become slow and glitchy after a year or max 2, and have worse user experience and crap Android updates. Just these things make OP phones MUCH better value than any of the ones you mentioned.

    The round camera lens does not bother me esthetically.
    However there are two setbacks.
    1. Even if you use a protective back cover, you still have to install a lens protection glas.
    I have tried several and all have a cutout hole for the flash that is too small. Resulting in light bleeding from the flash and disturbs the picture, rendering the use of the flash virtually useless.
    I found one with a big enough hole, but that was plastic and scratched already by applying it.
    2. Holding the phone it is unavoidable to touch the lens by accident. Makes it smeared easily and needs cleaning everytime before taking pictures.

    Here's my take on the 7t. 90hz display, 1,000nits of brightness, warp charging 0to70 in 30min, macro zooming, speed demon. What's not to like? I would pick this over bot pixals, the price 599.00 bucks? I wouldn't mind owning this phone!

    1:20 They must not have made the curved edge display correctly. I can hold my S9+ at ~20° so it's difficult to read and yet it remains readable and the edges are not warped (nor does the brightness or colors change very much).
    The usefulness of the curved edge display is so you can have your phone face down (to silence it, and blank the AOD) and yet still receive Edge Notifications - so it isn't really critical if you can read your phone at an extreme angle but face-on you certainly don't want the edges to be warped.
    The curved edge does make _edge swiping_ (and selecting) easier. It's the closest you can get to making the sides bezelless (and with edge sensitivity reduction / intelligence you can squeeze to activate a feature, such as undo the sleep kicking in).
    Really likin' _my_ phone's curved edges, it's a great part of the feel and secure grip.

    Is 90htz really that good. I have an s10 plus that I purchased a couple of days after it was released. And I am still really enjoying it. I have not been tempted by anything else not even the note 10 which looks great. I usually spare every 2 years except this time as I upgraded from the s9 plus. I have always wanted a one plus. But something always stops me

      If you really want the 7 + and it will make you happy go for it .
      Personally i think if you all ready have the S10 plus( the last fully featured galaxy model ) , imo it is a bit of a down grade going to the one plus , so many more features on the galaxy , headphone jack, sd card , heart rate sensor , 2k dynamic amoled screen, dex , certified ip 68 , notification led , etc ,etc .
      90 HZ 1080 p screen IMO = small potatoes unless you spend all your day gaming on a smart phone ( i couldn't think of anything worse ).
      Most of the smart phone cameras these days are good enough for happy snaps( so its less of a consideration imo . .
      Good luck .

    • @franklingoodwin
      @franklingoodwin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some say it's not that noticeable and some say it's definitely noticeable (I'm a bit sceptical myself). It does drain the battery faster than a 60 hz screen. I guess it's probably worth trying out, because you can turn it down to 60hz if you don't notice the difference or want a longer lasting battery

    • @franklingoodwin
      @franklingoodwin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ROTNSHIVGAMING what does that even mean? Reviewers keep saying it, but rarely go into detail on how. Sounds like a buzzword and cliche to me like "fingerprint magnet" and "feels good in the hands"...ladies you know the procedures (if you know the reference, you know)😄

    • @franklingoodwin
      @franklingoodwin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ROTNSHIVGAMING I've seen some reviewers say there's a big difference and some saying not so much. I guess it's pretty subjective, maybe some people notice it more than others. I'm pretty sure everyone would notice at 120hz though. Maybe Samsung will have a 120hz display on the S11, because you know how Samsung like to have the bragging rights of being first to do something. I know the Razer phone had 120hz but nobodi'es done 120hz on an OLED yet though

    I currently live in the states and am wondering, is there some way for me to acquire the OnePlus 7t pro? My daily driver has been the OnePlus 5t since it's launch, and I really want to upgrade. I knew that the OnePlus 7t pro was going to come out which is why I waited. I understand that the Oneplus 7 Pro is an option, but why settle for the non "T" variant if it's possible to get the best. Any response is appreciated.
