- Review of the OnePlus 7T over a month since I unboxed it, showing how the camera, performance, battery life, OxygenOS features and everything else holds up following the honeymoon period. Is this one of the best phones of 2019? Spoiler alert: yup.
OnePlus has launched some great smartphones this year and the OP7T is an absolute masterpiece. Not only does it take pretty much all of the best features of the OnePlus 7 Pro, including the triple-lens camera setup and 90Hz display. It also serves up Android 10 out of the box and the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, for a smooth and satisfying everyday experience.
Performance is solid, battery life is dependable and this handset is packed with great features, without feeling like a heavy reworking of Android.
And while the OnePlus 7T's camera isn't quite as strong as the Pixel 4 or Huawei's P30 Pro, it's not far off. You can still capture great looking photos and video in almost any conditions.
So as we head into 2020, this is definitely one of my favourite phones - beating the likes of Samsung's Galaxy S10 series and the iPhones in almost every area, including (by far) value for money. Have you been using the OnePlus 7T as your own personal phone? Give us your own review down below :)
Sorry about the delay with this review, been so many phones lately and I wanted to take my time with the OnePlus 7T. Definitely impressed by the tech you get for this price point.
Hey ALL, finally got my flagship oneplus 7T the 8GB ram, 256G storage edition. But damn I experience some horrible issue, while typing both with gboard and SwiftKey, I get a decent amount of typos, even on cheaper pocophone I didn't have such terrible accuracy on keyboard touch sensors. Oneplus has any plans fixing this?

@@pablofuentes124 looks like most got some tint I see many people report it and OnePlus support saying it's due to built in oled anti blue protection.. I got used to it... So it's ok for me.. Plus day time you barely notice it.
I wished you'd talked about how the phone handled during the month's use instead of going through the specs.
It is basically marketing with no justice to the actual usage in that 1 month.
I have had mine for around a month. Quick summary.
Battery life lasts me a full day of TH-cam and social media. Refresh rate is still great. The phone doesn't have a noticeable slowdown . All around great experience. Much better than my old note 9 by a Longshot .

@@joshjones5100 There's a bug with wifi/mobile data dropping at strange times. Been looking through oneplus forums for a solution - was tempted to send it back but sounds like software vs hardware. Otherwise great. Good battery life and an amazing camera. Would say slightly too big for pocket/hand but that's a trend for all recent smart phones.

I like the 7t better than either pixals. Why, 8gigs of ram, 128gb's of base storage. Macro zooming, improved cameras not pixal good but I'd be satisfied. Speed demon, the 855+processer. At 599.00 USD you get your monies worth. Good job one plus, very good review. Is oxygen OS a good match for stock android, yes absolutely!
@ben owen absolutely! Oxygen OS improves in a lot of areas. Better animations and even more features than stock Android. Loving it so far
Have You checked storage my OnePlus 7t used 28g for system in storage.. The OnePlus 7 pro only used 13g I wonder why the difference.
İ sold my rog phone 2 and bought 7T today , opened TH-cam and see this review.

@@romainelettuce2547 Which phone do you like? Hardware wise ASUS ROG Phone 2 is supreme. If you are into gaming then defenitely go for Asus else OnePlus isn't that bad either.
Loving my oneplus 7t,had it for 1 month now, no issues at all with it,fast,smooth, decent battery, awesome fast charging,decent camera, good updates from oneplus, sent the iPhone 11 128gb back that cost £780, bought the oneplus 7t for £550, saved £230 and got a much better phone in the process in my opinion.
@ben owen take away the what now? 120 hz vs 90 hz, Amazing stereo speakers vs decent ones, 6000 mah battery vs 3800 mah, Notification Led vs No LED, Headphone jack vs No headphone jack. I could go on, but you catch my drift, Rog 2 is INSANE value, especially with their 128gb storage 550 dollar variant
using it for a month now. came from Op3 and i can say its a solid device for the money. OP3 lasts for 3+ years hope it will last same or more!
Does your Op3 still get update to the latest android version ?

@@Simpaulme I wanted to upgrade and the iPhone XR seemed like a sensible choice. But for the money of a 2018 budget iPhone I could buy an awesome 2019 Android phone. Perhaps I should have switched sooner but I got a great deal on my previous iPhone

@@Lukas-s-lk yeah, it keeps readjusting especially in the evening while watching tv. It's really annoying. I never had this problem with iOS

How is the battery performance in terms of screen on time?
@@balpreetsingh5483 I had the phone for 2 days now and my SOT after a full charge was 4 hours. I am the kind of heavy user that charges his phone during morning time, I take my phone off the charger when it's 90% and I start using it during the day. I use it for news, GPS navigation, some videos, social media, calling etc. I consider myself a heavy user. This phone lasted me for my full day of work which is fine for me.
I've removed notifications from most of the channels I'm subscribed too. Not so this one. My boy here always makes me laugh while keeping me interested in every review he makes. Big Caribbean love to you bro. 🇹🇹♥️🇹🇹

After playing with the 7T, my impressions:
1. 1080p is not enough. Not nearly as sharp as my LG V30.
2. Feels cheap in hand, but this is subjective.
3. Camera results are soft and oversaturated..most of the times.
4. No focus peaking!
5. Manual mode is pretty bad.
6. 12MP photos is not enough for cropping. Significantly more details on the LG V30 shots (using gcam).
7. Nightscape is pretty sensitive to hand movement , unlike Google's Night Sight.
8. Manual mode works ONLY for the main lens. Forget wide angle long exposure shots (works perfect on my LG).
9. Thats a fast phone , but to be honest, they are all fast today (SD855 chips).
10. OxygenOS is pretty nice. Nice to look at, customizable, quick.
After playing with it, I cancelled my Oneplus 7T order. Will wait for something better.
Great review man, much appreciated. Also in love with my V30 and was considering 7T as reasonable upgrade. Now I'm pretty sure it's not good enough, gonna wait a bit further..

Love your content mate!. I purchased the Op7(non pro) with an assured buyback scheme, basically if i pay 180$USD i can exchange my phone for a Op7t. Would you suggest i do this or shall i wait for the Op 8 series given the fact there are leaks and maybe an April/May release date.?
Honestly as an average person I'd advice you to exchange it with the 7T the 7T is just too good and won't slow down for the next 4 years.
I'm here in the US! Fantastic phone! I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 t and I wanted to upgrade to a newer device but I wasn't willing to spend so much. Absolutely love this device! The note 9 went to my daughter.

This is Quality 4 Money!
I have been using it for about a month now too. One design flaw for me is the volume button is opposite the power button. Every time I want to check the notification, and press power button I turn the volume down, and if not realise my phone ends up on vibrate.. one more annoying thing is the battery saving mode notification which cannot be removed from the notifications.
My word, you are hilarious and keep getting better and better! Keep it up man. I'm looking for a phone to replace my Pixel 1 XL. How is the camera of the 7t compared to that? Cos I depend a lot on the camera.
Your review is spot on. I bought the OnePlus 7T three days ago and love it. I got rid of my iPhone 11 pro Max and use this 7T as my main driver🙋🏾♂️

Great review Had my OnePlus 7T for a week and loving it so far. Upgraded from an iphone 8 Plus due to that phones awful call quality and wont be going back to iphone. £550 is a steal for what you get especially that gorgeous 90hz amoled screen.

Bro Go for 7T and save some few bucks, i just bought the 7T and there is no difference at all between 7T and 7 pro as he said in the video you the only advantage 7 Pro has is the display it's got QHD display whereas 7T has got FHD+ display but in terms of performance 7T is much more faster than the 7 Pro it's got the latest snapdragon 855 plus gaming processor and also UFS 3.0 storage 7T even beats 7T pro in benchmarks so in terms of speed and performance it is fastest android phone available right now. so i'll suggest you to save a few bucks and buy 7T and buy some true wireless earbuds with your saved money.
P.S. - i'm a proud owner of oneplus 7T and want to remind you one little thing also the 7T comes with Android 10 out of the box.

My first oneplus and best phone I've ever owned.
After a recent update I can definitely feel a difference in performance and or smoothness in comparison to my LG g8, which is among the most underrated phones of 2019. This screen is absolutely beautiful and the tiny notch is just about non existent when watching videos on it. Just like any new device it takes getting used to, even if you've used OnePlus devices before, gestures, Android 10, OS ect... The US TMobile version doesn't come with a screen protector on it, it does come with the case though, all in all the OnePlus 7t is a go, if you're looking for a respectable all around great bang for your buck phone, then the 7t is among the best.✌🏼
How is the battery life, approx sot?
What would you recommend when buying phones from abroad in the uk? I’ve been stuck between the OnePlus and the ROG phone 2, and I know that the ROG can be bought so much cheaper from abroad, but I’m also aware that it might be risky. Loving the reviews, mate.

So I've that every person on You Tube that's reviewed this has left out a flaw with the phone's OS. The system files take up over 24 GB and no at One Plus can explain why.

I'm loving it. Love how quick it is. Just come from a mate 10 pro and wandered if this was quicker. The answer is yes. Loving how responsive it is. Screen resolution is great for watching prime videos etc
I also have the mate 10 pro. And dont know if i should go for the 7t or the mate 20 pro. Both run cheap these days, and seems like good buys!

Am I watching a normal review? Doesn't look like a "after 1 month" review. Could have talked about how did the phone hold up in the first month
Ive had mine a few weeks. with the refresh at 90 hz i can easily last all day with my normal use. I usually plug it in at about 50% at bed time. Android 10/Oxygen10 is fast and responsive. navigating through the phone is very speedy. the night mode photos are amazing, and i really like the camera mostly.
a lot of reviewers complain about having the FFC in the display. i got used to it and have no issues.
the display is crisp, bright and has good color. touches are responsive and accurate.
almost everything (See #2 below) works like you expect it to. that's about all you can ask for, right?
so far, my only cons are:
1. the power button is located in such a way (opposite the vol - button) that i inadvertently take screenshots when trying to turn the screen off.
2. Panorama photography isn't all that good, but the rest of the camera features are more than what i need.
3. the rear camera pokes out pretty far. further than any of the OEM cases will cover. I purchased a Spiegen that protects it better, so its a non issue now.

@@abdullah5049 it's not the best, but it gets you through the day. I get 5-6 hours of screen on time on a working day. Although the fast warp charger makes up for average battery life. Even a 15 min charge boosts the phones enough to get by the rest of the day.

So tempted by this... As a non "power user" I'm wondering how much those Uber specs are going to be wasted on me, and if I'd be better off going for the cheaper Pixel 3a XL with better camera?
I'm in the same boat as you. I have a Galaxy s10. Only because I'm on contract. But I don't even use the phone for all the power. I just want something with a good camera. So Google Pixel A serious will probably be my next phone.
@@Jthall1990 I ended up buying both a 7t and a pixel 3aXL, and sent the pixel back. It was close though. The OnePlus is clearly snappier and has a nicer screen, the pixel feels more solid and has an amazing battery life! There's not much in the cameras, honestly. They're both on offer now, good chance of a bargain I'd say!!

Rocking the phone for a week now. Absolutely love it. Using the 90 Hz screen got me spoiled... Looking at 60 hz mobiles takes a little getting used to. Cameras (LOVE the macro mode), battery (and charging speed too), the UI, updates, and the performance are all top notch IMO. My first mobile which didn't make me compromise on anything
I do agree with you. I think value for specs it is the best overall phone of the year. I have the s10+ and this year it has been getting a lot of updates and I think it's because of competition from one plus.
What would you go for? OP7T for £550 or S10 at £625?

I got a new unlocked frosted silver one from eBay for £425.
After using it for nearly a month I've got to say I'm very impressed with it's overall performance. Before I had the OnePlus 6 and was very happy with that also.

Picked up this phone at launch (upgrade from the oneplus 5), no regrets. Lasts all day and I use for business so plenty of phone calls, skype and email and the odd solitaire :) Screen protector has picked up a few scratches, thinking of replacing with something better (screen protector not the phone lol).

It is visible in Chrome incognito & TH-cam with dark mode in my device with 0-30% brightness

I have been using it since 4 weeks... It has a little oversensitive touch because of which while taking pictures or while pubg i get problem.. to check, open camera and hover your finger 3-4mm above the screen, you'll see pictures getting clicked even if you don't touch the screen.
Is there any more detail that you can give about the battery life of this phone? I'm due for an upgrade and I don't know whether I want the 7t or the 7t Pro. Any additional info is appreciated.
In One Plus 7 Series 7T is 'the best', If you're not satisfied, watch many tech people long time reviews. Normally Battery life is one day...
Just bought the phone. I currently have the S10+ but it is extremely fragile and the screen already broke from a knee level fall with a case and a screen protector.
I tested the bluetooth 5 with 1+ buds. I left the phone near the back of my house, then went to the garage, and at about 15 meters away, with just one slight hickup it punched the signal through 3 walls, two of them brick.👍

Got my 7T goodness yesterday 🤩 Having used a lot of custom roms on other phones, the way reviewers have been talking - I expected a lot more personalisation options under the hood... Only to find it's meh 🥱 Looking forward to O2 OS11.0 😁 Otherwise greatly impressed with smoothness & speed of device.

@@aaryanp9 don't think we really need custom ROMs these days... phones are so bloody good. A few more customisation options on the 7T would be nice, but I'll be fine w/o them. 7T FTW
@@kingrat738 i know that mobiles os are getting more customizable but the thing is that I have been rooting phones since 2013, and i mostly need root/custom roms for viper4android, greenify, etc.
I hate it when TH-camrs do videos like this. They say "after 1 month of use" but only talk about basic specs such as "90HZ display" "stereo speakers" like your basically just saying the same shit over and over again. We want you to actually tell us how it has been "after 1 month"

battery back up taking a major hit getting only 4-5 hours of SOT with usual usage which includes of social media surfing and few calls and half n hour of songs playing

Other phone manufacturers should follow suit. The year has come to an end and still so very few phones with Android 10! I hope my S10+ get OneUI 2.0 before the year ends.
