There is a true watershed in American pop music after the arrival of The Beatles in 1964. Prior to their arrival, guitar-driven rock was pretty much limited to surf bands and crossover blues artists. After? Well, we pretty much lost the saxophone as a solo instrument in pop music. A few bands kept their sax players, but guitars were EVERYWHERE after Feb of '64.
Great video. Would love to see more! I've always wondered about their time in Germany, and stuff like what can be found on the 4 tracks that they recorded on.
Yes I was doing a brief history and didn’t go into lots of fine details. I am planning on breaking down periods of time in more detail. Thanks for commenting!
John and Paul first had a brief chat in a newsagents a few months before the "official" meeting . It's still a newsagents today.... RMS News & Wine it's called now .....on the corner of Woolton Rd and Long Lane right near the War Memorial.
