Amouage is pure art. You simply need to be mature enough to wear it and understand the composiotion. Simple as that. This parfumes are worth every cent. And yes, they are different and not for everyone.

I have all three of those fragrances. I actually love this house but it's not for everyone. Yes I am over 40 but it takes a level of understanding to enjoy these fragrances.

Amouage is a top tier niche house, you are probably used to designer fragrances or niche that smell like designer fragrances (initio,PDM,bdk) not saying that’s a bad thing, but you have to acquire a higher taste in niche perfumery to appreciate these masterpieces.

I would probably agree with the man side haven’t been one fragrance I smelled so far that I liked ( have yet to try the opus line , beach hut, sunshine , imitation ) . But most of the fragrance that I liked from the house are the woman ones they smelled very niche and feminine ( dia , portrayal , sunshine , material , love blossom ) @melissanacional

@@yakitoriPBI totally understand where shes coming from. I used to hate Amouage fragrances when I was younger and new to the game. All my collections were mass appealing niche and designers such as PDMs, initio, mancera, creed etc. Now that I am in my early 30s and being in the game for 10+ years, I find amouage amazing. For me, one of the best niche house in the world if not the best. And certainly my favourite house. When your nose is refined, You can tell they use high amount of naturals in their creations. Very high quality. Classy, opulent, sophisticated, unique. I mainly buy from Amouage now. Pure art in a bottle that is totally wearable. Its okay if people around me cant appreciate the scent, I wear Amouage for myself. But sometimes I do get some compliments or at least people asking me what I have on. Because they are unique and smell high quality. My favourite from them is black iris, jubilation 25, overture. But all their other offerings are amazing too. And I am planning to get more. Amouage fanboy for life Lol
Amouage is the masterpiece of perfumes. Very niche. It’s not your Dior or Lancôme scents. It takes years of loving perfume to find this brand and fall in love with each innovative smell. Not for everyone of course. If someone is coming to me that wears Ariana cloud, I would recommend YSL as a step up, but never Amouage. Amouage is sophisticated, desirable art.

i actually felt the same about their fragrances, but i do recommend you to try enclave and boundless from amouage, those are some of their more recent fragrances that seem to target "younger" audience with more modern and appealing smell

Reflection and reflection 45 are really some of my favorite fragrances of all time!!! As you grow you will most likely appreciate them and like them!!!Interlude & interlude 53 and black iris! Also Yes some of them are different but thats what makes them special!!! Give your nose time and go back to them. On the women side honour and reflection and material i find beautiful!! But some of them womens are just not my style for me or I shld say that I like on my wife but i respect them!!

Just picked up Reflection Man and my first impression is that it’s a nice, classy, clean-smelling fragrance. I can see why you would classify it as a mature scent, but I think it has some mass appeal. I didn’t get any tacos! LOL
Reflection man is my go to clubbing and night out scent (spring, summer). Always get sooo many compliments.
Im 31 and love interlude a lot 💙 i can imagine that it is a challenging scent tho. I also looooove sunshine and blossom love. It really depends on your taste
I’m 30, and I understand how you feel. I bought Lilac love and that one is nice. I see what you mean but I also understand how people love it also. It’s a weird feeling 😂. My husband is 8 years older than me and he has a few. I get it 🤷🏽♀️. I may not buy another from them but I do appreciate that they are very good quality.
Try Overture Woman. It's the only one that captivates me. It's a boozy apple scent, which makes me think of apples roasting over a fire in winter. The other ones that I can tolerate but not love are Honor (bright floral scent), Ashore (reminds me the Bahamas), and Meander (which reminds me of hiking in the forest). But try Overture Woman. It's really good.
Agreed, i tried a pretty good clone of reflection man and it's just very mature leaning.
I personally like Amouage but I’m older. I do think it leans more mature & from what I see it’s more popular with “some” of the younger audiences in Europe & even Asia but not here in the West unless it’s in the colder regions. I ended up selling my Reflection Man it was too cloying for me. But I LOVE Interlude Black Iris & Jubiliation & will keep those in my collection for sure.
I do agree that it’s better suited for cool weather :)

Amouage fragrances are very challenging. I do like them, but it’s definitely a mood. I really like Beach Hut, Jubilation, and Reflection. Fragrances like Enclave, Gold Man, and Journey Man are very artistic. Enclave is wearable, but don’t spray more than twice. It’s very strong!!! More is less with that one for sure. Journey is very spicy with tobacco. Again, more artistic than wearable. Gold Man is probably the most challenging of the ones that I own. It’s super strong and has a dominant floral smell (not necessarily feminine) with civet in underneath to make it more masculine. I have a clone of Interlude. It’s very smoky, but it’s cool. Just wouldn’t be able to wear it anywhere except a bonfire or something. Lol. Your right, most young people wouldn’t like Amouage. I don’t think my wife likes any of them except Reflection. 🤷🏽♂️. Holla.

A little late on the party, i just received my interlude decant. Holy shit do I HATE it, I know some people will disagree and that's completely fine. Interlude to me smells like a chainsmokers friggin ashtray with burning leaves. The one they call a blue beast ain't so blue to me, just beast.....beastly offensive. Glad I didn't waste my money on a full bottle. Jesus my head hurts, send an ibuprofen my way.
This is actually a good house. Do I like interlude.. yeah it’s sick but would I wear it out .. no.. but they’re sick
I like smelling Amouage fragrances because of how unique they are. I think actually wearing them is a lot harder. Reflection Man is kinda boring, all I really get is jasmine and a slight spiciness. The ones I like the most are Sunshine Man, Beach Hut Man and Bracken Man. Those are ones I'd actually wear and get a full bottle.
Guys respect her opinion. Don't get me wrong I like Amouage as well, but we should encourage honesty in the fragrance community. It's always lovely to hear all perspectives from different people.

I’ve come around to appreciating them a bit but I do get you. Like in summer I’d reach for Galloway over Reflection every time. But I have gone off sweet scents in winter so Epic and Interlude is getting some use. One thing though, the way Amouage scents are, one’s fashion needs to be on point head to toe otherwise it will just be weird. Smelling of churchy incense and myrrh and smoke etc with crap clothes that’s madness. Only makes sense if you look good
Not drawn to this house either, I have Reflection Man blind bought early on due to hype. My wife likes it and got good compliments from others, it’s not a love to my nose but ok enough I still wear it once in a while.
I am ditching a lot of mainstream stuff and acquiring Amouage leve stuff. There is no going back.
The only full bottle of Amouage that I own is Reflection Man and I rarely wear it. I’ve smelled several others from the house and didn’t care for them. I definitely don’t like Jubilation XXV. The only other one that I remember sort of liking is Interlude Black Iris.

I respect your opinion. I, too, used to dislike Amouage. I thought it was too mature and not mass appealing enough. But after being in the game 10 years and now Im in my mid 30s, I started to appreciate amouage and I finally bought my first amouage which is interlude black iris. Its amazing. Very high quality, smells addictive, and pure art. And im planning on getting reflection man. I must say Im now a fan of Amouage.
But I see where youre coming from because I used to think about Amouage the same way as you do. Especially when I was younger and just starting out collecting fragrances. I still value your opinion melissa. You’re amazing. Cheers from England.
as mentioned before, my 24 year old friend rocks many of the Amouge house, they smell godly on him... not on me though 🤷♂
First your one of my favorite fragrance youtubers, I mess with you because your no-nonsense and real, but I can't ride with you on this one. Reflection, Interlude, and Overture Man(I agree for mature men) are awesome fragrances. I can't ride with you on this one.
I am still thinking if I like Amouage to buy it or not. I have to say they are special, different than others. Guindance is like anything else but still, do I need it on my skin? It's not only with Amouage but finding my perfume DNA in general, I've been looking for my top 5 for such a long time. I love pure scents like Jovoy Musk, also Malin& Goetz Dark Rum, I am kind of tired with floral scents but other scents like popular Bianco Latte doesn't make me want it either, maybe I like a little more Casamorati Dama Bianca. Anyway Amouage is worth trying longer than just once, I tried it for weeks and I liked it more and more. However still can't decide on those which I already tried, now I want to try Sunshine which has a lot of good opinions :) cheers!
I like Amouage. I’m 40. I’d agree these target a slightly older audience. They are definitely different than most other fragrances I have smelled. Unique style. I don’t see them as daily wear type fragrances for the few that I personally own. They are powerful and a little goes a long way. Probably better a little dressed up. They take on different characteristics based on weather too. So trying them different times different seasons you may have a different experience. I personally like the house. But it was an acquired taste. Not love at first sniff. 😂
To be honest, I bought a small gift box set for my mother as a birthday present. I also sprayed it on my body out of curiosity and tried it out. I didn’t like it at all. I could feel the age gap behind the obvious smell aesthetic. Maybe because I'm only 21 and can't understand this rich smell, but I really can't fully accept the taste of this brand at present. I hope people who like it can cherish it. It seems that many models have been discontinued.
Reflection Man, Jubilation, Epic, and Lyric are among my favourites. You're right, Melissa. I am in my forties and Amouage is definitely not aiming at the younger market. I find the same in general with Roja. Be open to your tastes changing over time and wear what you love, not what other people tell you you should like!
Thats top 3 house of fragrance. There’s a level of maturity you need to reach to understand this house.
Reflection Man and Reflection 45 are my favorites. I like Jubilation Man, Journey Man (tobacco with fruit note) and Interlude black iris for men and Beach Hut man which is more of a green fragrance. Amouage has more of a middle eastern vibe I believe. If you listen to Aaron Terrance Hughes who has his own line and is a perfumer talk about the brand you will also understand how masterful they are. But at the end of the day, it is something you like or not. I also love Silver Mountain Water by Creed.
their old stuff was amazing as it was very niche, not mass appealing, and centered around middle eastern smells. The new releases are very mass appealing and boring to me. Interlude is my favourite from the house, i even wear it in summer

My whole thing is i am not into powdery iris, so that has kept me away from Reflection, but jubilation xxv, Interlude, and enclave are so good its ridiculous. I get it people love lavender vanilla and bergamot, but how many renditions of Dior Sauvage can a person have?

The only one I own is reflection man.. to my nose it smells like Prada Lhomme but not as soapy.. reflection has more of a middle eastern swist... It honestly took a long time to grow on me.. and I like it but don't love it..
We all have different tastes and reference points. Maybe in a few years you will look back at this video with chagrin. Maybe your palette will remain the same. Either way, its great you are being honest in your reviews!
For me personal amouage perfume is not for everyone.. you need to discovered before buy that, not the typical perfume you smell at the first time and you grabbed 🤗🤗🤗…

I am over 40 and I also dislike Amouage. I had reflection man and jubilation and I gave them both away I tried to like them but I couldn’t. A tip for all the fragrance reviewers just because something smells shitty does not mean older people should wear it. People who are a little older like the same type of scents that you do silver Mountain water is one of my all-time favorites. Along with many others that you like. It just seems like every time a fragrance doesn’t smell fresh and fruity etc. everyone always says it belongs on an old man but I disagree

People who like these fragrances have lives that support these fragrances. If you live in LA with a bunch of 20ish year olds, you are not in a position to appreciate the classics. I’m recognizing some of the perfumes on her shelf and inwardly barfing. To each their own, I guess.

Thank you for posting this. I have tried many Amouage masculine offerings and I find them to have no wearability for me. I understand the complexity of them and can appreciate for that. There is so much hype in the fragrance community over these but not something I can wear.
The other lines are much better like such as beach hut man, sunshine man.

I definitely think the brand is for a certain age. Some fragrances are universal and other fragrances are for certain age groups. As you age you will find things that you love now you won’t love in your 30s or 40s. Those fragrances still have a role, but they may not be for you anymore and you’ll find what you once hated you now love. At least that’s my experience.

I wear Myths Men and it is a very sexy ashy incensy scent 🥰
The only fragrance that I have full size from them was Enclave. It maintains the “luxury” appeal of Amouage while being mass pleasing at the same time.
The rest from their lineup is either a like (but not full bottle worthy) or a pass. But I do give credit for them being very artistic on their work and performance on most of their fragrances aren’t slouch.
Considering other middle eastern houses like Lataffa, ASQ and Arabian Oud (my favourite) that were able to offer niche scents for reasonable prices, I feel Amouage is overhyped.
